Which Mix of i/o do you prefer?

I was just thinking as I'm listening to i/o more, and after listening to the Bright-Side Mix today, I overall prefer it.

It feels well... Brighter! and more alive and less of a sinister and dark as the Dark-Side Mix, which while is solid and was my favourite, I just feel the Bright Side suits the songs more, especially Olive Tree, Panopticom, and The Court, the only weak track I think on Bright Side is Road to Joy, Tchad's mixing feels a lot more pronounced and real on that one.

What do you guys think?

I wonder if Seascape was originally supposed to be a Mozo song

This is a 1979 demo called Seascape. Peter would repurpose it in 1984 for the Against All Odds movie soundtrack as Walk Through The Fire:

The instrumental definitely gives a huge Mozo vibes, the original title also seems to fit with the theme. As Peter recently came back to this storyline, I would love to hear a modern rerecording of Seascape with possible original lyrics.

PG lost media?

So, in Québec, in the early 90s, Videoway was an analog interactive cable-TV system that was quite famous. In addition to news and games, they had their own interative television channel that was quite innovative (called TVI). And there was a Peter Gabriel show call "Cuts". You could see live performances from the So era (and choose your own camera angles, as if you were the director). There were also lots of weird nuclear war imagery, and a stupid game where you could dress Peter Gabriel like a doll. While you can find some images of Videoway games and interactives shows, this one seems completely forgotten, except from a few mentions in FB (without pictures). Surely, Peter Gabriel was too busy to star in shows only an obscure experimental French Canadian TV network, so... was Cuts produced elsewhere? Does anybody have pictures? This IS NOT Explora, EVE or Mindblender. As proof I'm not crazy, here's a scan from a 1993 TV schedule magazine. Any info would be appreciated!

Peter Gabriel - (NOT) Plays Live Video - The Outtakes

Just found this video today, super enjoyable. Would have loved to have been at one of these concerts, alas I was only 13 in 1983 and my PG journey had not yet started.

(I love the live stuff before all the in-ear monitoring and click tracks and stuff. That's good too, and I appreciate that it removes problems with on-stage monitoring and so on (and everyone does it now), but the 'live band' energy here is off the scale! I am happy to trade a few mistakes here and there and low quality VHS visuals for that really alive band energy. Also it's probably my favourite PG era song-wise.)

O/I so far…

For a bit of between-mixes fun, what do you think of this O/I ranking (so far)??

Heavily come around to Up + i/o

I was listening to a lot of the songs on these albums today, and something clicked. I'm not sure why, but I felt like I enjoyed them a whole lot more than a month back when I first listened to them, and posted my tierlist.

My favorite mix for i/o is the Dark Side Mix by far, I think it suits the album and PG's style a whole lot more, the album is a little too loud and in your face in my opinion, when I'm listening to the Bright Side, the DS Mix opens up the album and allows me to listen to the more intricate aspects and sounds more similar to how US sounds with its layers of sound, grand but also simultaneously subdued when it needs to be.

My favourites from UP are: Growing Up, Darkness, Sky Blue, I Grieve, Signal to Noise and More than This.

My favourites from i/o are: Panopticom, i/o, The Court, Olive Tree, Road to Joy, Playing For Time, Four Kinds of Horses.

First PG album I have on Vinyl

Just got a copy of US on vinyl, after wanting it for a long time, I already have it on CD along with Shaking the Tree and PG III / Melt.
