So in this next chapter Rex Fang in a middle of a battle will unlock the full battle bond with his greninja, its form looking slightly different from Ash Greninja. However once the battle is done Rex collapses, pale, coughing blood, and breathing erratically. And in the hospital he flatlines for 15 seconds. Rex is already pretty close to a lucario but I want to have the battle bond be a different skill set for Rex to overcome.
And probably for a while the lucario will probably not let greninja get close to Rex.

What is your opinion on MCs who specialize in one type having Pokemon of another type on their teams? Like say a dragon type specialist having a Gardevoir or Magnazone?

Do you like it? Hate it? What are your thoughts?

I want to write a fanfic where my OC travels through all the regions and wants to become a great champion (very similar to Ash) and at the same time comes from a family that has a unique and natural ability with Aura. I've already commented on this story before, "Pokémon Fujiwara Origins," you can look it up for more details.

But anyway... I'm here because I'm thinking about the possibility of my OC having more than one girlfriend, why? There are so many female Pokémon characters that I adore, and I'm unsure about this, but of course, I'll make a few things very clear:

First: He will only have a maximum of two girlfriends, and indirectly he might have a third, but maybe I'll only add two or three more, nothing more.

Second: Romance in general will not be the focus of the story. The most frequent romance is more to develop the characters' relationship, but the focus will be more on adventure and development. In fact, in Galar, my OC won't be traveling with any of his girlfriends because the focus will be on the rivalry with his sister.

Third: If my OC does have more than two girlfriends, it will all be indirectly. For example, he might have chemistry with another girl, but initially nothing serious... And in the future, when he becomes champion, it's shown that the girl also married him along with the others, but when it comes to the present... He will only remain with two.

And finally... I have an idea to maybe have my OC have children and those children have their own stories, like passing them on... Regarding the events of Pokémon Legends Z-A and Wind or Waves

But overall, what do you think? Do you think it will be okay for my OC to have an indirect harem? And if not... How many girls do you think is acceptable?

Ok so I was wondering what are all the holy day in the Pokémon world, I know they already have Christmas and Halloween but do they celebrate the "birth" of Arceus or specific event across regions? And also I was thinking what if every type had their owns holiday and celebrations, what date would they be related to and why. I can imagine dark and ghost to Halloween and maybe plant to the first day of spring, ice to Christmas or something like that, but I am quite lost for the rest.

I'm writing a fic about a trainer who's trying to go on a Pokemon journey while also taking care of a baby. I already gave them a Lucario, although I'm reconsidering that slightly. I think maybe a Miltank might be good, but otherwise I don't know.

For characters, in one of my fics I made Giovanni the uncle of the Alola protagonist (I had the idea of making him the elder brother of the protagonists' mom because they're both affiliated with the Meowth line), and they've just become inseparable in my mind. How relevant their familial connection would be depends on the story, in some it's a defining part of the protagonist's background and characterization, and in others they've never met, but the link is always there in my mind.

Pretty new to pokemon fanfictions I have caught up to Ash is too versatile it is like an ash with a chatgroup of parallel ashs. It was pretty good personally liked it. Following it, i read "These silver eyes," and I really liked it. I just caught up and tryna find a fic that is like that, but maybe longer?

There are so many its kind of difficult to choose. I'm not against new characters, but I do find Canon characters already great, so I don't really care. If it's available on Royal Road, it would be even better as I prefer that interface over fanfic.net, and my AO3 acc hasn't been accepted yet. Thank you:)

Little bit confused over what I should do regarding choosing which of the professors I should choose as the antagonistic figure of area zero. Personally I’ve played though violet more so I like professor Turo the most of the two, as well as the future versions of the paradox Pokemon, however I don’t want to completely disregard professor Sada, since I like her design a lot. I’ve done my best to keep the story as far away from a specific game, such as referring to Naranja/Uva Academy as Mesagoza Academy, never describing Arven and Nemona by their school uniforms, and replacing the first introduction with the professors in the game with a call from Ms. Briar, as I thought it would be more impactful for Arven to introduce his parents to my mc, rather than director clavell.

im looking for some good fics I don’t really care for ash fics bc they always feel oc or really edgy I really like ones that follow the manga or even just the og pokemon game mcs I don’t really care about the region or gen it focuses on it tho really any fics are welcome if there well written enough ash fics or not!!! please and thank you!!!!

So previously I had asked what was the opinion on harems in Pokemon fanfics, and while the general consensus was that people didn’t like them due to most being poorly done, I saw a few people(like 2 or 3) mention that in their opinions, polycule was peak.

So I became interested. what is your opinion on polycules? Do you like them? Not like them? Don’t care for them? Or would just prefer a different relationship type or no romantic relationship at all?

When I started writing "A Jeweler's Guide to Living in Paradise," I already knew that my MC getting his first Pokemon would be a long process with a big payoff. After two years of on-and-off writing, I think I can say that I managed to accomplish it. I learned a lot of things along the way, both in terms of my writing skill and where I wanted to take the story next. Reaching this point felt so liberating; with how long it's taken up to this point, I can finally progress the story without worrying about my MC still being at school for his license and not having a Pokemon.

I'd like to thank my many readers and support they've given me while writing this story. I hope to continue bringing as much enjoyment as you guys have experienced so far as I continue to write. Thank you.

So I'm bored and going on a little vacation here and was wondering if there were any good Pokémon fics that were long. No preference on who the MC is, where the story takes place, or if it's based off of something like a romhack.

I’m looking for fanfics where the main character is actually a Pokémon, but more specifically, a Pokémon who is self-determined and steps outside the role Pokémon are normally expected to occupy.

They might travel independently, pursue their own ambitions, interact with human society on their own terms, refuse to belong to a trainer, or otherwise take control of their own life. Reincarnation, isekai, or a human mind in a Pokémon body are completely fine, but they aren’t required. A naturally born Pokémon MC with unusual ambitions works just as well.

Just Pokémon MC and self-determined. Oh and not Mystery Dungeon. Slice-of-life stories are welcome too, such as a Pokémon working with a professor or whatever

Some known examples of the general kind of story I mean are:

• PokéFlicks and Hollywood Hits
• Rewarded Reincarnation

I would not call myself a huge fan of Pokémon, Ive only ever played Black, and half of X and Sword. I occasionally watched some of the anime, but only in passing. I was, however, a big fan of the Pokémon adventures manga as a kid (read all of the Kanto & Johto stuff).

But despite that, I have recently found myself engrossed in Pokémon fanfiction. I have probably read 100k+ pages on RoyalRoad, SpaceBattles, and other sites in the past few months. (yes i know i read alot, my top three fics are Type Specialist, New Normal, & MunchMunch if anyone cares)

As a result, I have slowly built up an idea for a fanfic in my head and have recently started putting pen to paper and typing it out. After about 10k words the initial enthusiasm has been replaced by several worries, so I am making this post.

As a 'casual' fan, is it even ok for me to write fanfiction?

What are some obvious things I might forget/miss by relying more on other fanfics as my basis of knowledge/worldbuilding?

And as a more general pacing question, how do you keep things feeling active when there aren't good plot reasons for a battle for a while?
