Why was everyone telling me before college that skipping was a thing you can do?

I read the syllabus for all my classes and they all say they will crucify you if you miss too many classes. So why were people saying no you could skip class as though it was a regular thing earlier. I wasn’t planning on skipping but I thought it would be an option. Genuine question.

Best way to get around campus without a car?

I’m a freshman trying to figure this out before classes start. I have a bike but it’s really hot and humid recently and I don’t feel like getting to class sweating bullets for the first few weeks. I’m thinking of getting in the electric scooter or bike program but I don’t know how it works. Another thought was using the busses, but will they be at the stops the same time each day or does it alternate? Anyone who can answer some of these questions would be helpful.

Looking for an affordable laptop that isn't slow from best buy. My budgets about 250 max.

I don't need anything crazy, just a good laptop for school that doesn't take multiple minutes to open a tab

How do you juggle college, work, and studying at the same time?

I’m an incoming freshman English major. This is my first time in college and being an adult in general so I’m looking for some tips. I already have my schedule for my classes which go from 10-2 most days, which I’m really happy about and one online class. I’m going to have to work a job while in college too to support myself. I know it’s doable, just want some tips on how to maintain it from people who are actively doing the same.

I’m asking for a raise soon, here’s my plan, any tips?

So I’ve been working at chick fil a for 4 years and am only getting paid 9$ an hour. I think this is because I started working here when I was 14 and they just never raised my pay since I only worked a few days a week and even only 1 day a week because I was so busy with school. Now that I’m out of school I’ve opened up my availability to 9am-9pm. Today at work I’m going to ask one of the managers who I’m meant to talk to about a raise in my pay as a team member. When I asked about this previously that suggested becoming a trainer but that’s not the issue here. I don’t want a dollar more pay, I want to be payed like an 18 year old working at chick fil a. Here’s my plan, I’ll tell them I am looking for a raised pay because I’ve been working here for four years and have a 12 hour availability during the busiest season (summer). If that doesn’t work I’ll ask them to imagine me as a new employee, 18 years old, 4 years of job experience, fully trained, and 12 hours of availability during summer, and then I’d ask if they’d pay me the same as a 14 year old with no experience and a day or two of availability. I’m asking for 5 dollars more pay, so 14$. I know a lot of you would say just to leave this job but I’m going to college soon and I need to stay at this job so that they can transfer me to the chick fil a in the state that I’m going to. The last thing I want to do it be job hunting while in a new place. Then I’d decide whether I wanted to stay when I’m there. I am going to college soon which I think might be and issue, I’m not going to bring it up, but if I do I’ll say that it’s still the busiest season and I’m heavily open to working though all of it with them. Any tips?

How do I go about getting a raise?

I’ve been working at chick fil a for four years since I was 14. I get paid 9 dollars an hour to this day, when I asked about it they said I’d have to work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a .25 cent pay raise. When I google it it says chick fil a pays 12-16 dollars so why am I not getting that? Can someone explain how I should go about this?

Rate my schedule (English major freshman)!

(Stayed up since 3 am perfecting my schedule before the enrollment time because I accidentally passed out early last night instead of working on it)

How's my schedule looking? (English Major Freshman)

Ignore the fact that this isn't on the shopping carts schedule (I have backup classes there, just in case I don't get into my first picks when I enroll, so tis crowded).

Pack planner confusion help

Hey guys, I’m an incoming freshman, fresh from high school and this is all new to me. Basically my advisor emailed me saying I have added classes to my pack planner instead of my shopping cart, which is bad and highly discourage. But the only issue is I haven’t done that and hadn’t even looking into the enrollment tab before he sent that message, everything in my pack planner was already there when I logged in. Is this a mix up or did I somehow do something without realizing? General tips for first time enrollment as an English major are also well received. Thanks!

Is Purina's Beneful's beef kibble a good dog food in your opinion?

I'm pretty poor and going to uni soon, so I'm switching my dog from a higher-cost food to a lower-cost one. I'm also switching off it since I suspect he's allergic to Chicken, due to the fact that he keeps chewing his paws, and I can't find any other reason. Looking for other recommendations if it's believed that this type isn't good, but please keep in consideration that I don't have a lot of money. Thank you!
