This is Nala, I first introduced her here just over a month ago! We got her dna panel done but before the results come in does anybody have any ideas? She’s 15 weeks, the older boy is 3 years and he’s a boxer/ pit/ rottie mix :)
Hey guys, two weeks from now we’re picking up our bc puppy. I’ve read a ton of articles and a book about all the things you need to know about dogs and the puppy stage but I feel a bit overwhelmed 😅 does anyone have some extra tips for me?
Last night was rough but encouraging!! After I decided no more giving in (letting him out of his crate because of the intense barking and crying thinking it was to potty but it wasn’t ) and let him cry it out he slept with no crying in the crate for 3 hours straight! I’m encouraged tonight to ensure potty time is complete and I will not let him out once unless it’s time to potty. Even as we speak he’s catching up on sleep he lost last night. I’m excited to have a well rested big boy pup tomorrow morning!! Wish us luck !!
We will fight together 🐶🐾🐾
Had a new puppy just over a week ago and my almost 5 year old lab has been terrified to even be in the same room as him, I've felt so guilty and was unsure if we would have to rehome our new puppy but today Bailey (the lab) finally let his guard down and decided to have zoomies In the garden with puppy & now they're napping together!
How old was your puppy when you started to let it sleep on your bed? (If you’re okay with that. ) Miss Pixi likes to sneak in around the pillows these days…
She will be 14 weeks on Saturday.
Only really bad thing she has done so far is crack a baby tooth trying to open the patio door by trying to bite the metal handle. We are letting the vet extract it 7/3 to make the tooth under have a better chance of coming in normal. She is in no pain and still her insane puppy self. If it was an emergency and she noticed it they would pull it now.
Otherwise she is pretty much potty trained (averages an accident a week usually when introducing her to something new so excitement induced). And standard training going great. She mastered sit, down, and shake and getting better at stay all the time.
So Oscar is 15 weeks. Will be 16 weeks on Tuesday. We have moved his crate to another room because with the kids and open plan living downstairs he just wasn't able to rest. Hes due his last jags on 7 July so cant walk him yet.
At the minute is schedule is like this:
Breakfast 8am
Crate 9.15am
Lunch 1pm
Crate 2pm
Crate 5pm
Dinner 6.30pm
Crate 7.45pm (short nap)
Crate 10pm
He normally sleeps for about an hour ir so and gets up about 3am to pee. Today he also woke at 6am for a pee but in fairness I think i woke him when I dropped my water bottle onto the bedroom floor.
So what's ur thoughts, are we on the right track? That's him in his crate now - its in a spare bedroom beside ours upstairs
Sammy is a 5 month old Aussie. He's my very first dog and he's completely taken over my life (in the best way) being a dog father has led me to look for something special to bring him home every time I go out somewhere I can't also take him. He's probably the bravest, silliest dog I've met. We've had two thunderstorms within the last few weeks and he didn't show a single ounce of fear. He loves water and will splash in the little pool I got him all day if I allowed it. His only fear is the real human pool, I guess it's because he can't touch the bottom. He plays very well with his giant Great Dane aunt. I have yet to experience puppy blues because he's generally very well behaved and figured out potty training and commands very quickly. He's completely silent, which is odd. He doesn't bark at other dogs or passersby or even while playing, I've only heard him bark when I leave him alone. I'm anticipating the evil teenage phase and I know it's going to drive me crazy. But I just adore him so much and I'm so excited to see what he grows up to be.
After a little over a year of mourning my service dog, I decided that it was time to open my heart again. I adopted a dog that is a Dorkie, Dachshund and Yorkie. She’s about 3 1/2 months old now and I’m slowly training her to be my new service dog when she’s ready. She’s already learning so fast but boy is she stubborn! She’s learned that hand up, palm facing her means sit. And a closed hand facing her means stop. She’s still in her chewing phase but I’ve gotten her many things to chew, plus I’ve been giving her frozen carrots for her teeth coming in. She’s extremely active and sensitive. She was so funny when she discovered her bark. She kept looking around to see who made that noise! She’s now discovered that she can “talk back” when she’s unhappy. It’s so adorable. I can tell that she’s already lifting my mood because she makes me laugh so much every single day. I’ve been joking that I have a toddler again. Going to the bathroom every where and first it’s on the floor, it’s in her mouth!
We recently brought home this 3 month old girl and she is doing great with potty training but she’s a nervous / excited / scared pee-er! she just tinkles the tiniest amount of pee when she’s feeling big emotions.
She’s exceedingly submissive and any approach to her she ends up kinda peeing a tiny bit and laying over on her side, and usually rolls in it.
Is this something that she will eventually outgrow ? Or is this a life long thing? She hasn’t so far pottied in the house, other than in these moments. Is this something I can help train out of her? I don’t even know where to begin other than we don’t have big excitement around her haha! Any advice is helpful, thanks!
