Ghosted and sooo confused

I (42F) met a guy (50M) when we were both out of town for work back in May. We spent about 20 hours together over 3 days and things were great. We kept in touch after daily, whether it be text or call.

A couple weeks ago we met in the middle again for a weekend. Things again were great, no issues. We kept in touch with calls and texts. We covered a lot of topics, not just surface things.

We're talking on the phone one day last week and he says he's got to use the bathroom and doesn't want to be on speaker in there so he'll call me back.

That's it. Zero communication since. I shot him a text to see if he's ok and he read it but no response. He's updated his dating profile so I know it's over but like...seriously...wtf?

They’re using my phone number 6yrs later

I commented on a post from another subreddit and it was recommended for here.

I got my number probably closer to 7 years ago now. As recently as a month ago I got a call from a hospital system for the prior owner of the number.

Amber Baca (because f* her for being an irresponsible person and parent) used to have the phone number I currently possess.

The problem began shortly after I got the number. I got a call from a number I didn’t recognize and they left a voicemail. I was shocked to find the voicemail contained detailed info about children from the school nurse.

I called the school nurse back and explained that I now had the number and didn’t know who they were trying to reach but I definitely shouldn’t be getting info about the kids. This repeated a few times, with me being told the parent needed to call in to remove the number from the file. No amount of me telling them I didn’t know the parent stopped it. I had to escalate this through the school districts administration.

Over the years I’ve continued to get debt collection calls and notices, various reminders of HOSPITAL appointments for her children. Over the years people…meaning she hasn’t updated and/or continued to give the wrong info.

The most recent incident last month had me threatening the hospital with pursuing harassment against them if they contacted me again.

Thoughts on what I should do or could do? I really don’t want to change my number because of one idiot. I literally don’t get any other spam calls or anything.

Wireless Doorbell Chime (can I connect a Blink Doorbell?)

Not sure if this is the right place or not.

This old school looking doorbell is wirelessly connected to that chime.

I went to install my smart doorbell expecting wires to be surprised.

Is there a way to connect this to a blink or other smart doorbell system that anybody is aware of? I haven’t taken the cover off the chime yet since it’s kinda up in the corner.

Gear Setup Recommendations - w/dog

I have a 9 month old German Shepherd that I want to really start getting out and hiking with. I have an old Osprey day pack but I'm not sure if it's enough.

I'd like to be able to do full day outings with the pup, perhaps an occasional hike in, camp a night, hike out type deal...so between me and maybe a backpack for him...what do people recommend? I live in an area where there is a lot of water so some type of water treatment system wouldn't be out of the question vs packing in water.

I can buy online or there are tons of outdoors stores near me - Sierra, REI, Sportsman's Warehouse, Dick's...pretty much you name it.

I've looked at some articles online but I'd rather get first hand experiences and recommendations from a bunch of internet strangers :)

Leaving a Dog in an RV unattended...is it safe?

Ok...so I'm looking at getting an RV and going full time for next summer. I like to plan.

One of the reasons is a hobby of mine. I'll be required to leave my dog in the RV for 6-8 hours some days. Is that safe?

I mean...what's the risk of power/AC going out and it becoming an oven, basically? I know that sounds extreme but I feel like it's something I need to know about and how to be prepared to handle/address, etc.

Example of why PAP is critical knowledge

I was laying this ball out for a 2-hander customer of mine. 55 x 4 1/2 x 45

It looked “negative” because of his PAP being 4 over and 3 up. The white fingers are where he lands with the above layout.

For demonstrative purposes I pulled my PAP ( 5 1/2 over, 1 1/2 up) off the VAL and that’s what you see in yellow.

Ref # 9001 / 12C Letter

I use an accounting firm and this is the first time there has been any issue with my return.

Just over 30 days ago I called the IRS after my online status changed to "Refund status unavailable" after it had shown as my return being received.

They stated they sent a 12C letter to my address in a PREVIOUS state that wasn't listed anywhere on the return I filed this year.

I asked them how I was supposed to respond to a letter at an address I didn't live at and wasn't mentioned on my return. The poor guy didn't know what to say.

Supposedly he updated my address over the phone and mailed out a new letter.

It's been another 30 days, no letter.

I just tried calling and the automated line literally told me they couldn't take my call right now.

I have a substantial refund coming my way...what in the hell do I do in this case? The notice isn't in my online portal at all.

I have a message in to my accounting firm as well.

Mosquitoes and Bears…what to do? (And heat)

Big and small!

I’m camping for the first time in 20+ years. I made reservations as many of you suggested for my first time back at it in ages. I may not have fully thought this thing through.

I’m at a campground in Northern California right now. They have bear boxes and the mosquitoes are insane.

I grew up camping in Oregon and I don’t remember the mosquitoes ever being this bad there when I was a kid. I’ve doused myself in bug spray and I have a citronella candle going but what can I do to help my dog? They’re absolutely swarming the poor guy. He doesn’t seem too bothered but I don’t like it.

Also, it’s cooling down now but it was HOT today and where I’ll be tomorrow says it’ll be even hotter. Any tips on helping keep the pup cool? I bought a cooling mat (the red thing in the photo) and I brought his elevated dog bed.

Bears…those also weren’t a thing where I grew up camping. Tonight I’m in the spot next to the host so I’m thinking it won’t be an issue. I did put my dogs kibble and everything in the bear box and took it out of my truck. I just don’t know how much of an actual concern bears are? Or is it one of those things where we do the things so they aren’t an issue?

First time camping in 20+ years...do you really need a reservation everywhere these days?

I grew up camping at least 5-6 times per year every year from the time I was 5-6 until I was 17-18. I camped a few times during college but haven't since.

I've been trying to plan a road trip and want to camp along the way but I'm confused on what some of the sites say. I'm looking at Castle Crags State Park in California...the website says first come first serve but then there's a reservation link. That confuses me?

What are the chances of me rolling up to a campground and there being a single site available for 1-2 nights? How do I find out if a place really is first come first-serve or if a reservation is available?
