Small e30 update

Slowly assembling more parts and getting more wiring done, going with a staggered setup with three ds mesh wheels, got the bingo wasp chassis with bumpers and some more stuff to bring the interior detail up a notch👍

Why is one side so much more angle at full lock?

Just about finished this brand new yokomo sd3.0 steering at full lock is less turning to the right, cause of my alignment?

Noobie question. Does anyone do any sort of forced break in for tires? Specifically DRP tires?

Fine 1/24th rwd setup

What makes an RC track worth visiting—and what’s usually missing?

I grew up enjoying RC cars, and I’m researching what hobbyists value in tracks and practice spaces. I’d appreciate honest experiences, including the disappointing ones.

You don’t have to answer every question one or two is fine, but I’m curious:

  1. What does your favorite RC track do well?

  2. What’s missing, or what has made you stop visiting a track?

  3. On your last visit, what did you pay, and how much driving time did you actually get?

  4. How far do you normally travel, and how often do you go?

  5. For anyone who started as a beginner or brought family along, what made the experience welcoming—or frustrating?

  6. If you mention a facility, its name or general region would help me understand the example.

Please let me know which number(s) you are answering and thank you for your time.

Mainly interested in what you’ve actually experienced rather than an unlimited-budget wish list.

Sakura D5

I've been flying rc for a while and I've been interested in getting into drifting for abt a year, I've browsed aliexpress and allat and Ive came across the Sakura D5/D5M line of drift chassis, does anybody know if they're good or not? I'm not looking for a beginner car or smt easy, I enjoy the idea of slowly learning to drift and without a gyro. Any thoughts or advice?

First Drift RTR rec’s

I’ve got the bug to get a first drift car. There is not a convenient local track so will mostly be running on black top or sidewalk consistency concrete, guessing 1/10 is a bit big for the garage, but seems like a good size.

I am seeing some used local rmx 2.5’s, but the new Hpi D10 features have caught my eye as well. The RMX has a lot of hype online, so curious which way this will sway on here…

I like kits but don’t want to invest that heavily right now. Coming from crawlers primarily

New to the hobby and this is my attempt at an RD2.0. Come laugh at probably the worst body paint you’ll ever see. 🫠

Lesson learned, liquid mask is not the move. I ordered some 1/16 inch black tape to cover up the terrible lines.

Also yes I raised the body height.

Time to slide. Stage D10 / TT-02D.

Stage D10 is here. Ordered it Sunday evening from Amain and used the free shipping option. Shipped out of South Carolina on Monday. Arrived early this morning here in middle TN.

Starting cheap and simple, for now. It will be upgraded over time but I am not serious about this stuff. The closest tracks are 1.5 hours away and I won't be visiting them regularly. I street and parking lot bash and do not need an expensive setup. But I also enjoy worthwhile upgrades where I can experience the improvements in performance as it changes.

I robbed my Tamiya Heavy Metal Dump Truck of its Dynamite Tazer Twin Brushless Motor / ESC combo. I have a DumboRC receiver with gyro that came with my DDF-350 and I bought a cheap Injora servo. Grand total of around 200 bucks worth of electronics, including a 10 channel radio system with a color screen.

I slid around my hardwood floor for a bit using velcro tires and it already has noticeably better control compared to its smaller brother in the same tight space. It can only get better from here.

Now that I have a 2wd 1:10 drifter, I can think about some changes to the TT-02. I've seen 2wd and steering angle conversions that look fun. Maybe change the Gallardo from a Superleggera to a Balboni.
