Decent price? Don’t really know about 1/24 electronics

Decent price? Don’t really know about 1/24 electronics

This is what the seller lists (translated from Chinese) Asks for about 100 (price on picture only for chasis) euro for complete set without the shell.
“TG micro drift car with upgraded metal suspension arms, CT01 remote controller, Kyosho Mini-Z chrome wheels/tires, ATM full-metal servo (clearly better than the stock TG one), AFRC V3 gyro, and a sensorless brushless 5500KV motor with adjustable modes.”

Aaaand im addicted….

Quick shout out to @roadsiderc, thanks for letting me pick your brain Troy, I really appreciate the help. Throwing in @Darc (Drift America RC in Dallas) Stephen/Angel for setting me up with the Yokomo Rookie drift. First two packs in today and I really sucked first pack. Felt supper wobbly and I was just chalking up to being crappy. Charged a pack and started to clean the dust off and the Bell crank? Was super loose on one screw and nut on the driver side. Next pack it was a completly different car, I was still total garbage, but like 15% better. This was split between concrete road and a tennis court. I know I’m going to burn through tires this way, and I’m cool for the sacrifice of learning, but does anyone have suggestions on tires ment for road/concrete, tennis/basketball court?

Formula 1 inspired suspension concepts adapted into a drift chassis

A few people asked how the suspension works, so here’s a closer look at the mechanism and overall layout.

A lot of the inspiration came from Formula 1 and other motorsport suspension systems adapted into a drift chassis concept.

Anyone heard of this?

Listed for about 100 sum euros, wondering if anyone heard of the chasis.

UPDATE: Talked to the seller, didn’t get much info but wants 150 for rtr set. The chasis is the first gen (not sure if real) atomic drz. It’s like 7 years old by now at least.

UPDATE 2 THANKS FOR THE HELP, not considering it anymore, made a new post with a new find. Thank you to everyone who replied

Beginner planning an RC drift telemetry project (looking for chassis advice)

Hi everyone,

I’m a Mechanical Engineering & Management student from TU Vienna, and I’m planning a small engineering portfolio project around RC drift, vehicle dynamics and telemetry.

The idea is to build or modify a 1:10 RWD RC drift car, add sensors to the chassis, and collect data such as acceleration, yaw rate and possibly steering/throttle input. I want to use the data to compare how different setup changes affect drift stability and vehicle behavior.

I’m not looking for a toy-grade RTR car. I’d like something hobby-grade that I can learn from, modify and document properly. Ideally, I’m looking for a platform with:

- good spare parts availability

- many setup and upgrade options

- clear build guides or community support

- enough space to mount a small telemetry setup

- ideally carbon/graphite chassis or at least carbon upgrade options

My questions are:

  1. Would you recommend starting with a kit or an RTR car for this project?

  2. Which chassis would be best if I want good upgrade potential and interchangeable parts?

  3. Are carbon/graphite chassis parts worth it for a beginner project, or should I start simpler and upgrade later?

  4. Where would you mount an IMU/sensor module on an RC drift chassis?

  5. Which setup changes would be most interesting to test first? For example tires, weight distribution, gyro gain, springs, camber or toe?

I’d really appreciate any advice, recommended chassis, build guides, or examples of similar telemetry/data projects.

Thanks a lot!

Shock angle

Messed around with the suspension on the RMX 2.5 classic kit I built a few weeks back. Was spinning out very easily at the local track. Brought the front shocks in and more straight and angled the rears right out. Adjusted the ride height and droop accordingly now it feels way more planted and it has more body roll to get that traction to the rear outer wheel. Loving it. Will definitely be ordering some new shocks as the standard ones need rebuilding frequently as they leak. But pretty happy with a pretty much stock chassis. Local track is Vinyl garage tile. This is my backroom with just carpet squares. Shows off the weight transition abit better.

My experience at a drift track for the first time and a few questions

So, I got into RC drifting and RC in general 2 months ago, and was able to attend my local drift track. Just my luck that I had the track all to myself for a solid hour or so because p-tile and LF3 tires are....an experience lol. The only place I can really drift is painted semi smooth cement, so it was decently difficult to get used to p-tile though I started to get it a slight bit after a while. An hour in and some other folks came in with their fully decked out Overdose cars and seeing that in person vs just pictures online is wild because the cars looked amazing. When these guys got on track I pulled my car off to the side, but after a while one of the guys had the wife get my attention and told me to get on track with them. I told them that I just got into it and that I am absolute cheeks as its literally my first time at a track, and his words were "Who gives a f*ck, we're here to have fun!". They let me lead and managed to stay on my door even with erratic driving I was doing and MAN was it a great time! They checked out my car, and then I let them drive it and they said its setup great, but lacks power (which I figured out 10min into being on the track) but if I apply more power it'd drive very well. Not only were they great guys, but overall it was a GREAT first experience and I can't wait to go back. I do have a few questions if ya'll would be kind enough to answer...

- I plan on buying the Furitek Slidetech Pro and corresponding motor tomorrow (buy once, cry once and can always be put in a different chassis). I see people are using direct connections to the battery, but would I have any issues if I stayed with a deans connector for that motor and ESC ESPECIALLY from an amperage standpoint?

-I have an RMX 2.5 with MST TDA shocks along with a Yokomo servo and gyro. As well I have the turnbuckle kit and active toe kit (not installed yet). Why are there so many mixed opinions about fully upgrading the RMX 2.5? I don't plan on competing at any point, but would like to also get a Bingo RMX carbon chassis, and some aluminum parts for it way further down the line. Just seems some people say its not worth upgrading and I am not sure why. I can always get a different chassis in the future and upgrade it too, but for now since its my first car, I just kind of want to stick with it. Would love to get peoples opinion.

Some wobble, is this normal?

Hello people, I'm getting this wobble in the steering either when the car hits anything on an uneven floor, or when I'm on decel, or even sometimes mid drift. I've reduced the wobble to this level by having the gyro turned all the way down, it gets much worst when I set it at 50%, where it was from factory.

This is a Kyosho Fazer D2 Drift 86GT, fully stock except some metal arms and ball bearing in the steering. It was doing it before I upgraded the steering, but to a lesser extent because the arms had some play so it just absorbed it

Mst and yokomo chassis help?

Hi guys, I am looking to get my first rwd drift car, I’m looking at rtr for my first one.

I am going to Japan in a couple of days and plan to have a look and find a cheaper one out there but I’m confused as to what chassis means what.

MST have 2.0/2.5 aswell as classics and S but I have no idea what the difference is or what would be best for me as a beginner?

Yokomo also have the same with the RD 1/2 and also rookie drift etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which would be best for me and why or possibly just breakdown the pros and cons of different models :)

Many thanks

Built a new board revision for our RC cockpit display system, here's what changed

Been working on the 2.4 board revision focused mainly on power stability. Cleaner output, more reliable across different builds.
Also added 4 new screen options, all higher resolution than what we had before, 1.54", 1.47", 1.9" and 2". One thing that's been useful is being able to mix screen sizes at the same time depending on the build.
The landscape screens have been working really well in RC car dashboards. For planes anything 800mm+ wingspan handles them well.
Still actively developing, open to feedback if anyone's running these in their builds.

Stock RMX 2.0 I want to slightly upgrade.

Hello, this is my stock rmx2.0 that I’ve had since I think 2020 or 2021, I plan on getting a second car in the future that I want to go all out on, such as an RDX or a Yokomo chassis, but for now since all I have is this RMX… I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction for upgrades that I could do to make the car perform better and drive faster. specifically for drifting outside on concrete, I was told to get some big bored shocks and maybe a CF chassis from Bingo RC but I kinda wanted to keep the plastic tub so it could take a beating from being my “street” car, but if a carbon fiber chassis makes a big difference in how the car drives then I don’t mind it getting scratched up… But yeah any other upgrades you all recommend would be appreciated Also can anyone explain to me if changing my motor position to the high CG would be better for my use case? And also if relocating the ESC to the rear of the car would also help for what I want to do, thanks!

Looking to get our first car.

I'm looking to get into RC drifting with my son. I don't have a huge amount of disposable income and can't say my son won't be uninterested in a few weeks. That being said even if he drops out I will most likely keep up with the hobby lol. Is the best way to get involved on a budget to get a rtr kit or to buy a pre-owned car off of marketplace or ebay?
