Why are we not stopping at crosswalks??

I've been living in Richmond for a few months now and I feel like I'm missing something??? I walk with my baby in the stroller to the parks in our neighbourhood and we use a few crosswalks - one has amber flashing lights and another is uncontrolled as it's on a side road - and drivers just don't stop?? We usually have to wait until all cars have passed before we can cross. And if someone does stop, the car behind will try to pass them nearly hitting us in the crosswalk. This has happened so frequently that I've gotten to a point where I'm expecting it now. I get that Richmond drivers will be Richmond drivers but seriously am I missing something here?

Looking for friends! (20F)

I'm returning to Vancouver/Richmond at the beginning of August and would love to make some new girl friends while I'm out there (and hopefully a sustaining friendship until I move there!)

I visited Vancouver for the first time last year and I absolutely loved it! I currently reside in MB but after my schooling I plan to move to BC.

I'm into fashion, thrifting, beauty, fitness, animals, journaling, sewing, and I love outdoors aswell. I would describe myself as an ambivert (extroverted introvert) because I’m usually a quiet, reserved, and private person, but I’m working on networking and stepping outside my comfort zone.

I am pursuing a career in communications, more specifically social media management or creative brand directing. I just finished my 2nd year of uni.

While I'm there, I would love to experience the night life, take pics, go for brunch, browse vintage shops, go on a hike, beach day, or just about anything (I'm pretty adventurous). Also down to just chill and smoke (no hard drugs tho). If you want to know more about me, just ask. Lets be friends!

Edit: Please keep in mind I have never done something like this before 😭 This is genuinely my 3rd time using Reddit. For safety purposes, I'm looking to make friends with only women in my age range (19-23). I'm hoping we can chat, follow each other on social media, and get to know eachother throughout July before eventually meeting in person.

My Chinese is not good but does this selection make no sense?

It's the brown sugar fresh milk item from pearl castle cafe on Uber..

It says they don't offer below half sugar but there's an option for '少甜,' which means low sugar lol

Where to buy raw skewers in bulk?

Hi all, I really enjoy the chinese style skewers like at Meat Up and wondering where I can buy them in bulk? Raw preferred but cooked skewers ok too.

Thanks in advance!

24 hrs Sushi, Poutine, Coffee?

We are arriving on a Sunday morning at 11:45am and boarding our cruise at 11am the following day. We are staying by the Costco in Richmond. What spots do we need to hit up for Sushi, poutine, and coffee. We can certainly Uber anywhere within reason so anywhere in the Vancouver area is fair game. This may be to only time we are in Vancouver so I would like to hit the most representative spots for the above. Where do we go? What do we eat? What have I missed? So excited for a new city but only have a very short time to explore. Help me make memories. Thanks from Texas.

And just like that, all the Tesla's disappeared

Was having my morning coffee at A&W on Bridgeport and St. Edwards when suddenly a wave of people jumped up, ran outside, unplugged their EVs, and drove off. Turns out there was a power outage. 😂 For a second, it looked like someone had announced, “Attention everyone… a tidal wave is coming!” I’ve never seen so many people sprint to their cars so fast. Even funnier watching people get out of one spot and then go to the next thinking there would be power at a different stall.

Power outages half of Richmond

They all went out within minutes of each other. Wonder what the deal is

Better than SF Bay Area Chinese/HK/Taiwan food

I often heard Richmond has the best Canto food outside HK. I believe that. We are visiting from SF, and would like to try some places that people would consider to be superior (not limited to canto). I have heard about the food courts at the malls. I'm not sure if I should trust places like Eater. If people need me to narrow it down, I'm looking for dim sum, Cantonese, shanghainese (SJB), but anything else the experts think I should try would be great. Thanks.
