Real or fake Rickenbacker?
Just bought this old guitar and would be interested to know if it is a real Rickenbacker or not? Any idea?

Hi - my uncle passed and has this Rick, not sure exactly what model it is if someone could help? This is the only picture I have. I can find value if I know model, but may consider flipping it to be lefty…. Seems tough though! Thanks!
Edit: thanks for the quick copy ID. Sounds like it’s a great reason to keep & try flipping! :)
Walked into a local shop and impulse bought it on the spot. It’s in amazing condition and my fav color way.
Just arrived today! The body wings are from Ric's secret NOS stash from the original run of 4002's in the early 80s.
Hi all
I am going to look at and hopefully buy my first Rickenbacker tomorrow. A 4003 in Midnight blue has come available used at a seemingly good price.
I have lusted after one for years. I played a particular nice playing one earlier this year while travelling (unfortunately it sold before I could get the money together).
Can anyone give me any advice or things to look out for besides the obvious does it play and sound good.
Any help appreciated its a lot of money, so I'd like to make sure I've done as much research done as possible.
Sorry I never posted the back and out of case. So I just had to share. I’m a month into ownership and still a bit obsessed. That being said I wish these were made in higher numbers. I have little to know others to talk about their examples. At least from this original body bunch. That being said any other owners out there. Cheers fellas
New bass day!!! This 3030 is actually a pocket full of fun, in more ways than one! It’s got super short scale flats on them that actually have decent tension, not too wobbly at all!
This is a fun curiosity but not a unicorn! I’m reminded of the Supro(?) Pocket Basses of the 60s, and while this isn’t exactly an entry level instrument, it does have the 60s charm! If you’re looking for Geddy Lee or Chris Squire tones, THIS AINT FOR YOU!!! But if you love that Tic Tac sound or the woofy low end or plucky top end of 60s Semi-Hollow Basses, think those Vox Teardrops and similar, this is the bass for you!
Comes with the OHSC, stickers, plastic bridge pickup cover, the mutes, all that jazz. A beautiful 2024 4003s indeed, I was also provided with the serial number, and it checked out on the Rickenbacker database. I got burned not too long ago buying a fake Ric not knowing what to look out for, but this bad boy is a go for sure. Just wanted to talk about it!
Update: i bought it! The bridge pickup was all original, it did have an aftermarket chrome ring, but being a 2024 4003s, this bass is from the year prior to them introducing the new treble bezel. Therefore, all is well! (Please hit me up with aftermarket treble bezels lol) The seller was from Facebook Marketplace. My partner and i drove 4 hours for it, bass + OHSC + being able to play it through his home setup/analyze every square inch of the instrument before purchasing it, i came to a total of $1600. Probably the best deal I’ll ever find! Including the original OHSC, I couldn’t find a single Ric bass that wasn’t 2.5k+. I’m considering myself a lucky man indeed
Looks like a 350, but the spacing between pickups is narrower and I see 24 frets instead of the usual 21. The only match I could find was a 1995 350 without the accent vibrato and Hi-gains instead of Toasters. Custom order maybe? Or modded?

How does the comfort compare between these 2? does the 4003 have the same arm bezel the 4003s has? I am assuming it doesn't because of the binding. if you have played both do you find one to be more comfortable than the other?
I picked up a used 4003s in the other day and I am loving it but right after I got home I saw a 4003 in a finish that I like a lot more went up for sale. I am considering selling my 4003s to fund the 4003 but I am concerned about the binding on the 4003 being uncomfortable compared to the 4003s. I got a pretty good deal on it so worst case I get my money back but I could likely turn a small profit
Edit: added picture of my 4003s
Is anyone making these? Anyone got some links?
The high open e string on my 360 slightly buzzes when plucked. Ive had it for a year now but it’s more noticeable now. This is the only issue I’ve had with this guitar. It’s really not that noticeable but the way i play my guitar , its very annoying to me. Anyone else experience this ? If so what was the problem?
