Peach stands?

Suggestions for local produce/peach stands in the Alpharetta/Milton/Roswell area? Or a bit further afield. Grocery store peaches are a huge disappointment. I’d love to find a local stand or market and throw some support their way. Haven’t tried the farmer’s market yet because I’m not keen on the parking or the crowds, but it’s on my list.

Moving to Atlanta with a newborn on a quick turn - is Roswell the right choice for us or am I missing a better area?

My wife, newborn, dog and I might have to move down to Atlanta area within the next month, so we’ve been looking around at places to live.

To be clear the expectation is this wouldn’t be home forever, maybe just a year before setting roots somewhere else down there in a house.

For that reason we’re prioritizing luxury style apartment complexes so we could just get in quick and easy (hopefully).

I would be commuting to midtown, wife would be remote.

Our budget is $3k to $4k a month for a 2b/2bath with AC and in unit laundry.

With the dog and my wife being out on leave, we love the idea of being quickly able to walk to parks or into a downtown of sorts for coffee or a bite.

We’ve zeroed in on Roswell, specifically the Vickers building.

The downtown seems sizeable and cute, there are lots of parks, and the building seems nice enough.

I’m curious if there are any other suburb/ city setups we should be considering?

Below are my current takes on other areas, feel free to challenge me on them if I’m wrong;

Sandy Springs doesn’t seem to have as clear of a downtown to me and has a lot of busy roads, and I get similar vibes from Brookhaven.

No real apartment complexes in downtown Marietta.

Decatur is too far from some of the family/friends we want to be by, but would check boxes.

Alpharetta feels like a nasty commute to midtown.

Is there anywhere else you’d recommend or does this seem like a solid enough plan?

OBGYN experiences

Looking for feedback on Haven OBGYN - anyone used them? I'm looking for a smaller practice that delivers at Northside. This will hopefully be my first successful pregnancy... IVF, "geriatric" at 38. Any feedback appreciated.

Lake House at Martin's Landing

Looking for feedback from current or past residents - how is the area in 2026? Actual experience in the apartments? The lake is great and so are the trails, but want to see what the community and management is like. We've heard that some buildings are definitely better than others.

Have something scratching in a wall/ceiling and can’t find where it is getting in at all. Anyone have someone they recommend for this?

Townhouse Fire on Tuesday 6/30

Does anyone have information about the townhome fire that happened on Tuesday in the new neighborhood off of Myrtle Street?

I heard fireworks, then around 20 minutes later every firetruck in the area was parked on Myrtle putting out the fire.

Was it homeowner error, or fireworks?

- Canned vegetables
- Canned beans
- Pasta
- Rice
- Sanitary products (tampons, pads, diapers, wipes)
- Rice Krispy Treats (one little girl always loves getting them)

Best area in Roswell for a long indoor-friendly meetup with family?

My family and I are looking for a good meetup spot in Roswell or surrounding area and would love some local recommendations. We’re hoping to make an afternoon of it rather than just grabbing a quick meal and leaving.

Maybe a restaurant where we won’t feel rushed if we linger for a while? Comfortable for a multi-generational group (grandparents, parents, and a young child) and preferably in a walkable area with shops, coffee, dessert, bookstores, etc. nearby.
Indoor options are a big plus since we’ll be there during the summer heat.

We’re open to any cuisine and don’t necessarily need something fancy, just good food and a pleasant area to wander around before or after eating.

Would you recommend downtown Roswell, Avalon, somewhere else entirely? Any specific restaurant + activity combinations that work well for this type of meetup? TIA!

Carlsbad

Hey Carlsbad!

I've been building a water quality lookup tool and have recently added New Mexico, and 15 cities / 15 water systems including Carlsbad!

The goal is to make it easier for residents to find public water system reports and information. With links to the official reports (they usually end up being PDF's), help understanding the reports, clear and honest limitations - all without making any wild 'safe' or 'unsafe' claims.

Still working on adding more cities, but would love any feedback/suggestions/criticism!

Not an official government site btw, just trying to make public report information easier to find and understand.

Any leads on small sheets of stainless steel?

I have a project I am working on, and I need several small pieces of sheet stainless steel, about 6"x6", perhaps a little bigger as I can cut it, but not looking for anything "large". I know I can get some from McMaster-Carr, but I was hoping for a lead on a local place that I could pick some up.

Neither Home Depot nor Lowes has stainless, just lots of standard or galvanized...

Best way to learn about events

Hi all! This sub has helped me before, thank you. I live in Athens, GA and my mom, who has dementia, moved in with my brother and his family in Roswell. How do I find out about local events? In Athens we have the Flagpole, an arts weekly. Is there something like that in Roswell? A big thank you! Roswell is really beautiful.
