So, this explored what I thought different cities Shavian would look like in their style. The cities from up to down are Mecca, Tokyo, Bangkok and Paris. Just found it while looking through my desk.

You may have noticed the new banner at the top of the sub and found yourself wondering about its provenance. Well, it’s a snippet from Peter MacCarthy’s original 1960 manuscript for Androcles, which was provided to the Museum of Rural English Life (MERL) by Kingsley Reed, and put on display there in the Sound-writing exhibition in 1972.

With the fonts used on the Wiki page it looks like the tail of an doesn't go as far left as the top while with ai the tail either goes as far left as the top or slightly farther, but I'm thinking maybe that doesn't matter & it just depends on the font. What do you all think? Can I use ai as the Esperanto ligature for an?

A bunch of you had been asking for me to add other keyboard layouts to Shaw-Type, and I’d found myself wanting to play around with different keyboard layouts too, so I have made it possible to edit your own custom keyboard layouts with custom ligatures! You can import and export them, so if you develop one you’re particularly pleased of, you can share it with the rest of the community here too.

To give you some inspiration as a starting point, here’s Marty’s Shaw Fish layout in the Discord Server. It should also be possible to do things like u/Dechifro’s digraph as an entry method.

I had a lot of fun building the editor, and even more fun playing around with the resulting layouts. Please let me know how you get on!
