i am about a month in after inoculation. i have already done the break and shake. i first noticed these faint gray spots 4-5 days ago and they are progressing very slowly, however i am a little worried because my grow space has been very moist and hot. would you say this is strong mycelium, or mold?
Please help! Is this contaminated? If so, is there anything I can do to salvage this bag, or should I just toss it? This is only my second time growing, and I’m very stuck on what I should do. I appreciate any guidance/expertise. My first time went perfectly, so I’ve never had to troubleshoot
Maybe not enough o2 at the start ?
I started out some 4-5 weeks ago with a first attempt at growing Pan cyan. From spore print to solution to rye to substrate. Rye colonization went fine as far as I could see. Substrate is (give or take) coir:vermiculite:straw:horse manure - 6:2:1:1, and some gypsum to top it off.
Used a set-and-forget method and ended up here. Humidifier on a timer to keep it at >95%.
Question: Should I stop with the “forgetting part” and do something to induce pinning?
I’m comparing available local resources with the goal of maximizing recycled organic-materials!
Does anyone have experience using coffee chaff in production? Can be sourced from local roasteries, often for free - they usually throw it out as a waste-product.
Pics for reference and quick info.
So, I got another big boy today. We're getting closer to my 28g dream coming true! Now, I've grown lots of mushies over the years, but the crazy "cauliflower" growth at the top of this one is pretty new to me. Anyone else have something similar before? For context, this guy grew out sideways and bumped into another fruiting block that was nearby before I could intervene. The growth started exactly where the tip of the cap touched the other mycelium. Same strain, same birthdays. I'm not mad at it at all, just really fascinated. It's incredibly dense/hard and has a bumpy texture. Shoukd look interesting when it's fully dry. 🍄
Put my colonized brown rice jar into CVG substrate about 2-2.5 weeks ago. It was fairly quick to colonize the CVG because I might’ve messed up the CVG amount and didn’t put in enough.
Anyways, what could have happened and is this over? It’s humid season here so I don’t think it’s a moisture problem and I kept the lid on upside down for passive FAE the whole time.
Hi there👋 I’m on my first flush of PE 6 and got a few blob mutations in both of my grow bags. Was wondering when would be the best time to harvest/pick them? Thank you in advance ❤️
I know I harvested these guys way too late. Can I still salvage these? I can't tell if there's rot/mold either.
hey everyone,
as the title says i think my golden teachers are starting to pin prematurely.
the surface of the substrate has a thin layer of mycelium with the top being a bit denser then sides and bottom but all in all it's thin and has alot of room to spread and become denser as you can see in the pics.
i was wondering if there's a way to make the mycelium colonize further and hold off on pinning or if i should just introduce fae and role with it?
i have no idea if this is colonized enough for fruiting conditions or if the mycelium would still be too fragile and thin so any advice or tips are very appreciated :)
(ps sorry for the bad quality pics)
First time grower here, Is this white fuzz at the base of the stalks contamination? Or normal?
It seems that it’s starting to stall on the bottom due to excess moisture. Is it contaminated? Do I need to start fruiting? Should I leave it alone? This is my first grow so I’m still learning
