Klonopin and Mushrooms - How much does it dull the impact?

I have a anxiety disorder and take 1.5mgs of Klonopin everyday. I'm wondering if anyone who take Klonopin regularly can describe how it impacts their trip and what dosage of Klonopin and what dosage of shrooms you've taken?

Ginger Prior to the Trip Interfere with Potency?

I've always gotten an upset stomach from eating mushrooms. I know the husks of the mushroom are hard on the stomach. Does anyone eat raw ginger or ginger tea before or during the trip? I understand ginger suppresses similar serotonin receptors in the stomach as the ones activated in the brain. Can ginger be a trip killer?

In Recovery After Community?

The question is in the title. But it's more complicated than that. After getting to Comunita Cenacolo or Community, did you find recovery? Do you owe your recovery to the community or did it put you in a worse place?

Attended First Psychedelics in Recovery meeting and have therapy intake.

Hey all,

As a 12-step defector after attending for about 3 years, 8 years later I stepped back into "the rooms". I was pleasantly surprised that despite reading the 12 steps and 12 traditions, the group has made some very important adaptations to accommodate those who choose alternative recovery pathways, recognize trauma, and even state following the 12-steps is not a necessary step of the program. It was s very inviting atmosphere and can see attending in the future.

As a person in recovery for my own peace of mind, I found a licensed therapist who specializes in psychedelic therapy and have an intake session. I'm feeling very prepared and a little afraid if I'm being honest to dive into the inner depths of my brain after not taking a hallucinogen since probably around 2014/2015.

RHPS Battle Jacket

I just started working on a spinoff of Eddie's jacket, but I'm going with a punk rock twist for a battle jacket to wear to all future RHPS engagements. I'm going to keep it as movie specific as possible, but add a few extra things like spikes and studs to give it a more punk look. I decided to write, "Trouble" on the back, from the intro of the Doctor's song, "When he was born he was trouble..."

Today, I just got the fabric marker and did the stenciling with a fine point Sharpie and a fabric marker to fill it in. I'm actually very surprised how clean the lines are and how dark it turned out on the denim. I'm getting all my spikes and studs tomorrow so I'll probably do an update post by the end of the week. I'll also have a sheriff's badge, skull and crossbones pin, etc. I need to go get some leopard print fabric still. Since it's a denim vest, it doesn't have a lapel like a leather jacket. So, I'm going to do the leopard print around the trim of the collar.

Paint or Marker on Denim?

In the past I used to be good at stenciling, but my skills are not as good. I bought this nice fabric paint to make a GWAR shirt this year and fucked it up. Now I want to put some words my my denim jacket but don't want to risk ruining, because I can't replace it as easy as a white shirt? Will black marker work for a jean jacket?

The Proper Come Down - Movies, Music, Meditation?

In the past as a recreational substance user I would often watch the classic movies during or at the end of the trip (Fear and Loathing in LV, Pink Floyd The Wall, Wizard of Floyd, etc.) Does anyone have any more positive, feel good, come down movies, music, or therapeutic/meditation techniques?

Psychedelic Therapy Unavailable

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not looking for a therapist, I'm curious how people are doing this on their own.

I'm a person in long term remission from polysubstance use disorder, and also have treatment resistant depression, ADHD, and OCD. There are some cities here where psilocybin has been decriminalized and are available. But there is not psychedelic therapy. How might someone like me proceed in having a therapeutic experience, but not having the clinical setting?

I have a lot of prior experience with most psychedelics, fyi, it's just been a long time and have actual intentions now instead of just an opportunist drug user looking for a good time, not that there's anything wrong with that. But that's what I was before.

Psychedelics in Recovery

Hey all. I came across the group Psychedelics in Recovery, which I think is cool. Except, I left the 12 step programs after attending and being heavily involved in both NA and AA for a handful of years. The programs were fine for me, but eventually grew out of them and found alternate recovery groups, as some of the program didn't align with some of my beliefs.

After reading their literature, they seem like a very open-minded group welcoming to multiple pathways to recovery. They even say that a person doesn't need to use the 12-steps to recover and encourage finding the right pathway that works for the person. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Psychedelics in Recovery group and/or any other support groups of that nature?

Crust punk = gutter punk?

As an old and former gutter punk, can someone explain if being a crust punk is synonymous with being a gutter punk? Or is crust related specifically to the music? On the streets what we were referred to were "crust punks" or "crusties" and a lot of my friends wore crust band shirts, but it was more about the lifestyle than the music. Most of them are dead now either due to drugs, alcohol, or train accidents. I am in remission from substance use disorder after a lot bought of severe addiction.

I listen moreso to 80s anarcho-punk and political punk, so the gutter punk/crust punk lifestyle of living for free on the streets, eating people's leftover food, etc. was more of a political statement about not participating in society and society having so much excess and waste that we could live for free. It was also a statement about housing equity, freedom, and the laws being oppressive to keep people working and paying in to taxes for the ultra wealth.

So, I am legitimately curious to hear if crust and gutter punks live the same lifestyle.. and is crust music about that lifestyle. Or do some people just enjoy the music and go on with their regular day, which is fine, no judgements. As I'm 43 and have a family and house and am political in a different way now.

Antibiotics for Tonsil Stones

I had a tonsil comblation about 5 years ago. Prior to the coblation, my ENT put me on an antibiotic. That antibiotic cleared up my tonsil stones for the duration that I was on the antibiotic, and then they came back, and that's when my ENT decided to do the coblation.

Now 5 years have passed and some of the crips have deepened and I'm having tonsil stones again so I went to go see my ENT. He just put me on a different antibiotic to see if that would clear it up, prior to doing anything more invasive.

I'm curious if anyone had any success with an antibiotic that was a long-term solution or if it was like my experience where once antibiotic was gone the tonsil stones returned?

My ENT is on board with doing another coblation just to remove the rest of the ridges and crips that have deepened and or he had missed in the first place. After the surgery my left side looked pretty flat but my right side still had some ridges so I don't think he got in as deep as he could.

Where to get ketamine therapy [North West Michigan]

I have treatment resistent depression. Well some meds work, but the side effects are bad. I've seen ketamine therapy pop up in my feeds. But I'm wondering if there is a brick and mortar location in West Michigan or Northwest Michigan. I want a legit therapist and psychiatrist, not something I order online and administer myself. I'm also curious if this sort of treatment is covered by commercial insurance or if it's always out-of-pocket m

Manton - The Divide Course - 2026

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has the new 30 mile course map for The Divide, Manton, MI gravel race? I am not able to do the ride this year, since it conflicts with my family reunion, but I want to try to course since it's omitting the sandy Gilbert Corners. If someone has the route can you please share it with me. From my understanding, the map comes with the registration and is different from prior years.

Comunita Cenacolo America - Community: Cult or Poorly Run Catholic Recovery House

I posted this in a different forum. I will share my perspective, which is biased against the community. This is why I want more stories. I want to get people's experiences out there and let the public decide

Gabe Rheaume - BS Integrated Psychology, State certified recovery coach, state certified peer support specialist, certified community health worker, MI ACE Trainer, certified SMART Recovery facilitator.

Michigan

Cenacolo 2010-2011

Our Lady of Hope Florida

Our Lady of Joyful Hope Alabama

My personal experience like all who start at Cenacolo is one where we enter, have our belongings taken and distributed to the house pantry if we have too much, have our hair buzzed off, and follow a peer for a month or so to get the ropes. We were cut off from any outside information, including tv, newspapers, and telephone calls. Most letters are confiscated, and we only left the compound as a group. I began to lose sense of myself after a few weeks after having no contact with my family, my outside life, and working 8-10 hour days surrounded in long bouts of droning prayer. We were never left alone, never allowed leisure time, and could never make our own choices. All things came down from the director Albino on the top, who decided our days but would only tell the house manager. We didn't know how long we were going to work, what we were going to do, or what to expect the next day. We were told to "trust" as if blindly following Albino's plan was like trusting the guidance of the divine.

The place had no professionals, no medical attention, and no recovery plan. Even after completing commmunity, those who finished the 3-4 year program were expected to give back and volunteer at an orphanage in South America for another few years. They used fear tactics like warning us if we left, we'd get rejected by our families and there was no reason to leave because we'd get sent back to Cenacolo. Unbeknownst to me, my wallet and ID were thrown in a fire, so I had no ID, was 1000 miles from home, and when I brought the subject up I was always dismissed or lied to that it was getting replaced (never did). When I snuck out im the hills of Alabama, I only had a couple pairs of clothes and a backpack, with no where to go and fear of rejection from my family and feae that they would find me and put me on suferenza, sleeping outside, where cottonmouth snakes lived, sleeping on the ground, digging and refilling holes all day.

The place, at best was an antiquated attempt at substance use treatment through punishment and humiliation, keeping us in a state of darkness and exhaustion. At worse it could be a labor camp taking money and donations from the church to continually grow the empire and despose of the clients when they have completed their time which is decided by Albino, with no relapse action plan in place, no job skills such as creating a resume, nor gaining any certifications or skilled trade, but essentially just pipelined to a job affiliated with the community and continuing a life of indentured servitude to the community.

These are my thoughts and observations, I have heard others share more devastating stories of abuse and psychological torture. I left after 8 months when I was doing housekeeping, after having planned and packed, waiting for the right moment over two weeks time."
