TL;DR - I started playing Sisters partway through 10th and haven't won a game yet. Please suggest more idiot-proof list ideas.
The Problem: I've been playing 40k since the end of 9e, and with Sisters since about halfway through 10e. I have yet to win a game with them. I always see people describe Sisters as a high skill ceiling army, where a good player can do great things with them when they understand how & when to trade. I, however, am not a good player. Most battles I feel like my Sister army is comparatively smaller and capable of less than my opponents. Which brings me to my request...
The Request: Help me make a (somewhat) low-skill Sisters army. I'm not looking for anyone to make a whole list for me or anything, but suggestions on what units might work best would be awesome.
Here is the (now slightly modified) list I've been running since end of 10e / beginning of 11e.
-------
Vahl + Warsuits
2 squads of 10 Sacresants, both with Hospitalers
1 Canoness w/ Jump Pack (eq. Clarion of Urgency)
1 Battle Sister Squad
1 squad of 3 Arcos
1 Dominion Squad (flames split in the Immolator)
2 Castigators (1 auto, 1 battle)
1 squad of 5 Seraphim
1 Exorcist (eq. Symphonic Payload)
1 Immolator
1 Rhino
Thanks for reading! Any suggestions, tips, and/or tricks are appreciated.
I’m getting into model painting as a whole, and have always loved 30/40k. I have a leviathan dreaddy I’m using as my “learn to paint” model, but I really like the pose and the vibes of this art piece I found on Pinterest. Any tips or kits to look at for getting parts to make something close to this kind of sister? I’ve got some green stuff and I know I’m going to have to sculpt a little bit, but any help would be appreciated!
One of the things I enjoy most about my job is that every commission is different. One week I might be painting a whole army, and the next I'm working on an incredible centerpiece like this Triumph of Saint Katherine.
This project was a lot of fun to paint.
I also recorded the painting process for the base, so if you'd like to see how I approached the marble and some of the weathering, keep an eye on my Instagram and YouTube. I'll be sharing that tutorial very soon.
A big thank you to my client for trusting me with this commission. I hope you all enjoy the final result as much as I enjoyed painting it!
f you'd like to see more of my work, you'll find plenty more painted miniatures, tutorials, and commission projects over on my Instagram. Feel free to follow along!
Hey everyone!
I just finished my very first minis, I never painted before, and I'm kinda proud for my first unit.
Don't hesitate to tell me what you think.
I have a white speed paint, the "blinding light" from army painter, but I didn't use it for the armor, the white is my white from my primer and didn't touch it 🤷
PS : I didn't count the hours. But it probably took me around 30-35 hours for the whole squad.
I named them : "The order of the Golden Rose"
As a new player who started building in the 10th, does this list look solid or have any glaring weaknesses?
The biggest thing in question for me is the Paragon Warsuits (Glorious) Heavy Bolters loadout. I added those in since I thought i might have enough Anti-Tank already but haven't played my first game yet and need to build before I do
I am open to changing my detachment of course and swapping out units.
They'll likely all die or wind up in a mortifier, but I still gotta do some novitiates.
Anyone tried? Seems pretty doable
Hi good people
Im curently planing a 2k list ( AOF, SACRED CHAMPIONS)
i cant decide between a second retributor unit plus a diologus , or a Insidians squad also with a dialogus for the mortals .
I think im addiceted to the mulit meltas big dmg but not sure if a second unit is overkill
Any tips muc appriciated
So my thought was for my wife she could take the second one and use the models separately as leaders (forgive if they are not called that). What’s your thoughts? The other one will be made like it’s supposed to be.
Let’s assume you are building a Penitent Host list. What sorts of list archetypes are people tinkering with, and what opportunities exist with the newer ruleset that people are enjoying?
I feel like PH gets too little love but here we can discuss the sauce that secretly makes them just a little bit goated
I’m starting Sisters as my second army. What do you wish you would have known when you started your AS army?
I’ve been playing Tyranids since early 10th, so comfortable with the hobby.
Looking for Sisters specific tips for a newbie that would have made things easier for you.
Any tips or thoughts appreciated.
I am working on building my Army (Unsure on detachment so far but have a mix of all sorts i thought looked cool).
I also have Morvenn Vahl built so plan on attaching to her.
What is the Recommended Loadout in the 11th edition for Paragon Warsuits with Vahl?
Are Meltas, Warblades and Grenade Launchers for all still recommended for the 11th?
P.S: Would anyone be interested in seeing a video of how I painted the freehand?
With Nurgling being punted!
Love her how banner turned out, was super nervous for it😭
