[RP Question] What knowledge (if any) can people outside of the syndicate reasonably know about the syndicate?

From a roleplay perspective, if you're not a syndicate agent are you supposed to know that there are or could be saboteurs? If you already know there are syndicate agents would you know anything about how they operate e.g. syndicate items and how they work or the fact that they use code words?

I wanted to try the Musician role for the first time... and I downloaded SO MANY .midis

This was on Funky, by the way! I started by trying out different instruments, then I checked my "mood" and immediately knew what I had to do. I gathered every instrument I could find and dumped them all in the trash.

People were so confused watching a musician run around and spilling liquids on the floor.

For now I’m gonna stick with the base races...

Trying to teach a greytide the game and shitsec was a nuisance as always

we were renovating dispos and I swear the whole sec department was there every other 5 minutes checking that nothing was emagged and doing inventory checks and I think the security camera was red the whole round we didn’t even do anything illegal (until we stole the nuke and started selling nuka cola but that was in the last 5 minutes of the round)

LRP is a prison and I can’t anymore

I’m a pretty new player who has only played on the two wiz den servers since I wanted to learn the game. But what I have noticed is that role play is like the third pillar of the game and I want to play on some servers that have more RP focused gameplay. I try to play reporter and interview ppl but I almost always get told to go away. I try to play engineer and play be crazy with others but no one engage. I want a real server with real RP. Even if I’m going to play on thoes cool servers with no idea what’s going on half the time.

Ive also gotten really good at chem and i enjoy playing cmo alot but every time i play i feel like im taking away from other peoples enjoyment. Everyone else just gets upset cause i do everything fast and i dont wanna ruin other peoples enjoyment in a game...

Bigger than Jugs

It is odd that Jugs are the largest container chem mixes things in. It provides little benefit over the 100u buffer of the chem master.

I get that most jug mixers have just learned to use multiple jugs when mixing larger solutions, but it feels silly to have to work around this when making a larger container should be trivially easy in this setting.

Feels like there should be an industrial sized mixing container that chem can use. Something that can handle large capacities. This container wouldn't be pickup-able, and would start anchored (if movable at all).

I think this is more fun because:

  1. mixing outside of the chemmaster means the liquid is less safe. People can steal it, mice can drink it, etc.

  2. there's more opportunity for the chemist to fuck up outside of the machine. (Spilling large quantities of liquid from reactions that produce more volume, accidentally creating the wrong meds, undoing incorrect mixes)

  3. since there's only one of these large containers, it could even lead to collaborative mixing between multiple chemists. Or conflict between them over who gets to use the big bowl. (Maybe, probably not)

Yeh. I don't feel strongly bout this, but think it would be fun.

Tell me your thoughts.

RMC and IOs (Intelligence officers)

I feel kinda lost cause there is a loop in my actions, I take IO I run around for 5 minutes and die, I can't really get any info on how go get better at playing IO, cause there are 0 guides on it, so I ask not even for a guide but just for some tips on it. Thanks.

Also looking over it, it looks like a fucking email.

Medical Care is for mustard male chuds

This entire shift I have been drinking myself to death and drunkenly screaming about how I am a ketchup male and everyone else is a mustard male chud especially med.

Finding high quality / convincing Roleplaying while learning controls and commands.

The title covers most of what I’m searching for.

I’m brand new to this world (perhaps 5 rounds with a job so far) and I’m increasingly excited by the potential as I’m learning what Space Station 14 is all about.

Could I get some recommendations for servers that might be a good fit for me? I may not know how to hold a mop, but I won’t simply break character over it. I’m also looking for an environment supportive in building my story for them over a series of rounds. It seems in these servers I’ve tried, rounds feel much like a reset button.

I appreciate any information here. See you out there my fellow space creatures!

Is there a way to make your own book?

I know you can overwrite existing books but I do not believe you can change the title and or the book cover. Is there a way to create a book?

Fighting nukies is (mostly) boring, predictable, repetitive

I'm mainly talking about rounds when we are informed about nukies arrival early on. Lets call it "Loud" mode.

No doubt there are some cool situations during "Stealth" mode. Out of my recent games:

- Me (chef) receiving a lot of explosive mice and being asked to cook rat burgers. Then this guy decides not to wait for me to trigger the explosion and just blows up my kitchen. Afterwards in a few minutes it went loud, other nukies came and started shooting people. So cool!

- Me going early to Evac due to some other danger, then nukies come and shoot me. Sad, but also cool!

Now lets talk about the most common (sadly) snoozefest loud mode when we know about their arrival early on. You can already picture in your head how it always goes, right?

Oh yea... time to build these Rimworld style mazes out of reinforced glass.

Then lets keep all but one door locked in hallways. Then we turn medbay into a military base.

Then lets wait 20 minutes for something to happen.

Oh then there's a power outtage. Then we get spaced rooms and no oxygen.

Oh well time to look for an EVA suit.

Now shift continues but with those annoyances.

Then go on, fight, until we win or loose. Honestly i just get bored on EVA suit part and go cryo.

Im not against fighting nukies or heavy-action antags, it's just that anything seems more interesting than doing what I listed above. For me, it possibly has to do something with less RP, and instead just being busy interacting or watching others interact with crafting, construction and inventory management mechanics which aren't fun by themselves.

I wanna hear opinions, do you agree or do you like it?
