Public dumpster

I have an 8’ trailer full of household trash in bags. The landfill is closed and I need the trailer by Sunday. Is there any place with a large dumpster I could take my trash? (Without getting in trouble lol)

Preschool waitlists

Has anyone had experience with preschool waitlists at Northport Baptist Day School or Valley View, or really any preschool in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area.

I’m trying to get an idea of how much waitlists typically move before the school year starts. If your child was waitlisted, did you eventually get a spot? And about what number were you on

No tennis wall in town?

I can’t seem to find evidence for a single wall built for tennis practice, but can’t imagine there wouldn’t be one in a park or by courts in the entire city of Tuscaloosa. Has anyone here seen a hitting wall in town?

ICE stop at Walmart Neighborhood Market in Northport

Observed an ICE stop of a family in the parking lot at neighborhood market in Northport. Filmed what I could. Agents were unmasked but in ICE vests and arrived in several different unmarked vehicles with blacked out windows. Detained at least one man but the children were taken home by a family member or friend that arrived later; not sure what happened to the mom.

Looking for opinions on internet providers

Currently have Xfinity. Not a fan as of late. Multiple outages, always fixed relatively quickly, but still makes it a bit unreliable. Down speeds are great at 1Gig, upload speeds are garbage, which is not ideal for gaming. Customer service has been awful this time around.

Looking to move to fiber potentially. AT&T vs Cspire? Any preferences? Cautions? Recommendations? What’s their reliability and customer service reputation in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area?

Looking got a place to live

Hi everyone! I hope it's okay to post this here.

I'm a 22-year-old male moving to Tuscaloosa in a couple of weeks to work with the football team, and I'm looking for a place to stay during my time there.

I'll be arriving around July 19, and while I'm not exactly sure how long I'll be staying, I expect to be there until May or June.

I'm hoping to find a room for under $600/month. I don't mind having roommates or sharing common areas. I'd also prefer a place within walking distance of the athletics facilities, if possible, but I'm open to other options.

Also, does anyone know if University Place Apartments on 4th Ave (managed by Delview Properties) offers furnished units?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or information!

Restaurants hiring servers

Hey y’all, I’m currently a server at a restaurant here in town, but I’m currently looking to potentially add on a second serving job (or transition to a new one if the hours are better).

My current restaurant is super slow with it being summer and I’m sure it’s the same with other places, my current gig also only pays us like once a month which is…not ideal, my hours are so weird right now that I’m having a hard time going from place to place in person asking, if anyone knows any restaurants/bars etc hiring even just part time I’d love to learn more!

Just a broke 22 year old needing to pay rent/student loans. Currently working in a more casual setting but willing to learn any bartending or fine dining skills if needed, tysm!

The Greens at Tuscaloosa?

Hey everyone, I'm moving into the Greens at Tuscaloosa very soon. It has mixed reviews, but it is within my budget and the unit is much bigger than my old place.

Has anyone lived here before (especially recently)? Is there anything I should be aware of before moving in?

Looking for a roommate ASAP

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. I need some help finding a roommate.

I have a 2bedroom/2bathroom apartment near Sokol Park and the Publix over there and I need a roommate ASAP. My apartment is fully-furnished (furniture, dishes, office space/desk), 1200sq ft with a patio.

For context, the person I was living with passed away suddenly a little over a month ago. The property manager has given me permission to allow someone to live with me. Rent is 800$ + 200$ (utilities) for a flat rate of 1000$ per month.

I’m 33, work in a restaurant full-time, and a student. I’m looking for a grad student or someone close to my age. I really would like to keep the place clean, quiet and respectful. I have cats, too.

Please message me if you have any questions.

Mercedes

Hey y'all just out of curiosity what do you think will happen if MBUSI pulled operations out of Vance what do you think Tuscaloosa and surrounding communities would be like?

Blue Haus opinions vs Midtown Village Condos?

I have the opportunity to live at either. Looking for opinions on the properties, management, parking, condition, people, maintenance, etc. I’m having a hard time finding videos and posts about Blue Haus. Comes furnished, but that’s about the only difference I can find.
