How the hell are you supposed to contact Wise if your account is deactivated?

I deactivated my Wise account myself a while ago and now I want to activate it again. Their FAQ says if you closed it yourself, just login and reactivate it, and if that doesn’t work, contact customer support.
Problem is when I login it just says “Sorry, this account is deactivated”. So I click customer support and customer support tells me to login. Like what?
I can’t login because the account is deactivated, and I can’t contact support because support wants me to login. Did anyone from QA actually try this before putting that FAQ online?

I also don’t understand why a financial company makes it so hard to find a normal support email or contact form. I even saw suggestions to contact them through social media. Why would I contact a financial service through Twitter or Facebook and share my email or personal information instead of an official support channel?

I’m not banned or anything. I closed the account myself and their own FAQ says I can reopen it. Has anyone here actually managed to reactivate a deactivated account recently outsidee of US or unable to make a phone call their support number?
How did you contact them? Maybe im missing something because I am stupid but this flow is completly stupid as well

Edit:

From their social media handles AI Agent which only provided the steps after sharing my email which I was trying to avoid but it didn’t reply back if I didn’t share my email and immediately after sharing my email although reluctantly.

Do not Use Wise Ever for money transfer

I had a business account , we provide web development work and we have been working for an Australian client for 3 months then the day we finished the work our client made the bank transfer from his Australian Bank to Wise Australian account which was provided by wise, even we uploaded the invoice and website screenshot and even the wise team wanted they could call or email my client and verify that the transfer was legit but without of it , when my client transferred the money next moment my account was closed  permanently. 3 months of work, when it was about to get paid, they choose to close my account and now I cannot ask my client to pay again because according to wise they have the right to close the account and my client will get the money back to his account, God knows when and at lease wise should have transferred that money to our account but no, they are dictating and forcefully kick you out whenever they want. now I cannot ask my client to pay again by showing Wise’s email. shame on you wise team & company and I pray God sink your entire company for destroying the household income our business and employees that we have been working for last 3 months.

WARNING TO BUSINESS OWNERS: Wise has blocked access to our business funds for weeks because of its own "technical bug "— and I still can’t transfer the money out or use the account, funds held captive!

Posting this because I genuinely think other business owners need to know what can happen when you rely on Wise for your business banking — especially if you hold significant funds with them.

I have spent weeks trying to get normal functionality restored to our Wise Business account.

The timeline, excuses and contradictory messages have been ridiculous.

Wise first told me there were no restrictions on the account. They escalated the issue as “high priority” and said their investigation should take 1–3 working days.

A few hours later, I received confirmation that our verification was complete, our business address had been approved and the account was “ready to use.”

It wasn't.

Nearly four weeks later, payments still don't work and core account functions remain unavailable.

Then it became a “technical issue”.

Then a “specialised team” was investigating.

Then it was “high priority” again.

Then “all hands are on deck.”

Still nothing.

Eventually, Wise admitted in writing that a bug in their own system was blocking transactions.

At that point I asked for the obvious alternative:

Transfer our business funds to our external bank account.

Wise agreed to explore this and again said it should take 1–3 working days.

They then emailed me specifically asking for my external bank details “to process your refund.”

I provided them.

Guess what happened next?

Wise then told me the same technical bug was preventing THEM from transferring/refunding the funds out as well.

So this is where we are:

Can't use the Wise account.
Can't make normal transfers.
Can't order the required business card.
Business Direct Debits are declining.
Financial obligations are mounting and people's livelihoods are being affected.
Can't even have our own funds transferred to another bank.
Wise admits the blockage is on their side.
No ETA for a fix.

I then filed a formal complaint.

Wise acknowledged the complaint, but the underlying problem remains exactly the same.

At this point, the complaints process feels less like an escalation and more like another holding pattern while the actual problem remains unresolved.

I have dozens of emails and screenshots documenting everything above.

Businesses have suppliers, invoices, Direct Debits, contracts, people depending on payments and deadlines that don't disappear because a financial provider has an unresolved technical bug.

The way this has been handled is, in my view, disgusting.

If anyone in the UK has experienced anything similar with Wise please share what finally got it resolved.

Does anyone know which bank app is this?

Does anyone know which bank app is this?

Someone sent me money and sent this screenshot as a proof of the transaction.

It's been 5 business days but the money hasn't arrived on my Wise account.

Also, do you know if this screen means the transaction is completed?

Thank you!

Update: thanks everyone for telling me it was Monese. After all, the guy who sent this money was a total scammer. It was a fake screen.

Stripe payout to Wise missing – Stripe won’t provide proof of payment

Hi everyone! 😄

I’m hoping someone here has experienced a similar issue with a Stripe payout to Wise.
A Stripe payout of 201,877 HUF, dated August 5, was marked as Paid/Completed in our Stripe Dashboard.

The payout was sent to WISE EUROPE SA.
However, the money has still not arrived in our Wise account. Stripe shows a Payout Trace ID for the transaction, but Wise support is asking us for a proof of payment containing:
* sender’s full name
* sender’s bank details
* recipient/Wise bank details
* payment date
* amount
* currency
* payment reference
The problem is that Stripe has not provided us with such a document, even though we have already requested it from Stripe Support. We have been waiting for it, but nothing has been sent. Wise is currently unable to locate the payment without the requested information.

Has anyone here had a missing Stripe → Wise payout and successfully resolved it?
What exactly did you ask Stripe for, and what document/information did Stripe provide that Wise accepted?

Also, can Wise actually trace the payment using the Stripe Payout Trace ID, or do they require the full proof-of-payment document? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Can I keep my Wise account while temporarily living in Egypt for ~12 months?

I’m currently in Saudi Arabia and planning to move to Egypt temporarily while I wait for my German family-reunion visa. I expect to stay in Egypt for around 12 months.
Before leaving Saudi, I’m thinking of transferring my savings to Wise and simply leaving the money there untouched until I move to Germany. I wouldn’t use Wise for spending or transfers while I’m in Egypt.
My concern is that Egypt doesn’t appear to be a supported country for holding money with Wise.
Would Wise allow me to keep my existing Wise account and balance during this temporary 12-month stay in Egypt, or would I need to change my country of residence and potentially lose access to certain Wise features?
Has anyone been in a similar situation — Saudi Arabia → Egypt temporarily → Germany — and kept their Wise balance during the transition?

Trying to verify my account. Help, please.

Hi all. I'm trying to verify my account but its keeps getting knocked back. I am English but have been living in Thailand since 2003. I am married so I have the "O" visa which is accepted. The visa expired in 2020 but in Thailand you get extensions to the original visa, which is what I am on now. For whatever reason, it's not getting through. The extension stamp does not have my date of birth and other details on it. Any advice is very welcome!

CIBC won't link to Wise anymore

I used to send Canadian money to UK through Wise a couple years ago. I am trying to now, but it needs to re-link my account. I go through.it all, receive the security code, but when I enter it in, I get this message: " UNAUTHORIZED You closed the consent window for Wise. No data was shared. You can restart the connection process on your bank or app dashboard if you want to try again."

I didn't close anything. I don't know what it's talking about. It's very frustrating why a simple task is taking me hours to figure out

Wise needs to move away from Mastercard

Since cards are being issued by Mastercard I’ve been getting a higher decline rate for flights, subscriptions, etc.

I never had this situation before with Visa. And I shouldn’t rely on Apple Pay for every purchase to go around this.

Am I the only one?

Unjust account closure.

So long story short. I had a wise account which I had for 5 years. The account got hacked and I had to disable the card.

I couldn’t get a new card because I was living in a country where wise doesn’t operate. So I ended up stopping using wise all together and then I deleted the account.

Fast forward I needed to use wise again, and I created a new account. That new account got flagged and I got a message saying I’m not supposed to have more than one account, even though the previous account no longer existed.

I got communication emails from wise on my old email address which I was using for the old account, and the new email address which I was using for the new wise account saying that they will close my accounts. I couldn’t find a way to get hold of wise.

Now I’m living in a country with full wise support, how can I get an account again, and how do I get a hold of anyone from customer service.

I never had two accounts, I created a new account because I deleted the previous one, but it still got flagged.

Wise accounts keep getting closed after overseas payments — what am I supposed to do?

Hi everyone,

I’m based in Malaysia and recently had two Wise accounts closed, belonging to two different people with different IDs.

The accounts were mainly used to make international payments for collectible toys (such as Hot Wheels) that I purchase from overseas suppliers or travelling purposes. These are legitimate products, and the transfers were for paying the suppliers.

I’m now trying to figure out how I can continue making these payments without having another account closed.
When I try to make a MYR transfer, Wise gives me the option to select “Pay for goods and services,” but it also warns:

“Make sure you are not using your personal account to send money on behalf of a business — for instance, to pay suppliers or employees salaries.” (first picture)

Or should I just choose the “Sending to friends and family” option? That’s what I’ve always used when sending money to these sellers, but I’m starting to wonder if that makes the account more likely to get flagged or restricted lol.

I understand that if I’m buying inventory for resale, using a personal account may not be the correct setup.
The problem is that I can’t even open a Wise Business account in Malaysia right now. When I try to register a business account, Wise says:

“Due to high demand, we can’t onboard businesses from this country right now. Join the waitlist, and we’ll email you when you’re able to sign up.” (second picture)

So I’m basically stuck:
1)My personal Wise accounts have been closed after making legitimate overseas payments.

2)Wise says I shouldn’t use a personal account to pay business suppliers.

3)But Wise Business isn’t currently accepting new Malaysian businesses.

4)I regularly need to make large international payments to overseas suppliers.

5)Wise has been the most convenient option for me because of its exchange rates and international transfer features.

I’m not looking for ways to bypass Wise’s rules or verification. I just want to find a legitimate way to pay my overseas suppliers without constantly worrying about my account being restricted or closed.

For people who run a small business/reselling business and regularly pay overseas suppliers:

What payment method or setup are you using?

And if you’ve had a similar experience with Wise, what did you do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Riseworks payout to non-us (uk) ltd

Last week i was fortunate enough to get eligible for my first payout from tradeify using riseworks.

So I setup a USD ltd co. account with WISE

except rise would not let me use that because me as a person/contractor is based in UK, 🇬🇧 despite the actual bank details of bank sending to is usa.

the only way i could get the funds was international transfer with fx fees and commissions to my WISE Uk Ltd co. account.

However all the fee free options to move to us dollar accounts do not work for me.

The original plan was to do the fx conversion using WISE at substantially lower cost. Has anyone found a better way when using rise?

Wise Card arrived unsealed

My card arrived today and the envelope was unsealed. It just looks like the glue let go it doesn't look tampered with. Without the card there isnt much anyone could do could they? It was still glued to the paper other than the envelope being open nothing else looks out of place.

Should I lock it and wait or you think it is safe?

No one would know my PIN and its a new card.

Wise closed my main account and I don’t understand why

I’m a Malaysian user, and I’ve been using Wise mainly to transfer money internationally, including sending money to Mexico, Brazil, US, Hong Kong.

Most of my transfers were for legitimate purchases of physical collectible toys. I wasn’t using Wise for illegal products, illegal services, or crypto anything like that.

Recently, Wise decided to close my main account, saying that my activity was against their Customer Agreement. I wasn’t given a clear explanation of what specific transaction or activity caused the closure.

I rely on Wise when I travel internationally, so losing my account is a pretty big problem for me. I also have another separate Wise account/situation involving Brazil where they requested Brazilian tax documents, I am not even from BRAZIL ! But that’s a separate issue from the account that was closed.

I’m trying to understand what I can do now. Has anyone here had their Wise account closed despite using it for legitimate international purchases/transfers? Were you able to appeal the decision or get the account reinstated?

I’m honestly pretty frustrated because I don’t know what exactly I did wrong or how I’m supposed to resolve this.
