I keep going back to Burt/Ralph combo. 🤷‍♂️

I spend summers in Michigan. I do most of my racing here. They have loose over hardpack.

I ran FastTrak/Air Trak combo for a bit but FastTrak was always sketchy on corners. Also feel sluggish.

I did Burt/Burt and they almost found my body in a ravine.

Wanted to try Scorpions but after the Burt experiment on the front, maybe not a good idea.

I end up with the trusty Ralph/Burt combo. Feels so 2009 but they are fast and Ralph corners like it’s on rails.

Anybody else still running this combo or am I the last? 🤣

You still making lecture videos for online classes?

I have one asynchronous summer course that’s upper level. I don’t make any lecture videos for that, other than on complex topics. So maybe 3-5 videos. Even then, maybe 10% of the class watch.

This Coming year I’m moving from a 1/1 to a 2/1, thus picking up an intro course. It’s an asynchronous course. I had the department look at all the other instructors asynchronous video stats and they average about 5% to 10% of unique student views.

Thus I don’t think I’m going to make lecture videos for each chapter. Maybe point them to other video resources that already exist within the publishers world.

I think my time is better spent on the applied stuff.

Anybody else stop making videos?

Front/rear cameras that last a long time

Hello all. I’ve seen some racing videos that had the front and rear footage. Some of these are for 200+ mile races. I’ve asked them on YT but they don’t respond.

What camera set do you think they are using where they splice the videos together, it shows power, grade, route, time, etc. But can also last so long?

This is exactly what I’m looking for on my long 100-150 mile gravel rides. I’m more concerned about safety than posting to YT. Would like some video evidence for when I’m eventually hit. 😒

Thanks.

2026 Platinum rear hatch won’t open

It just beeps. Acting like it won’t unlock. 🤷‍♂️ Tries some Google solutions such as fuse, unhook battery, etc. But nothing works.

Any ideas?

On a side note, when you lose access to your hatch you quickly realize how often you open your hatch.

Not one item in their ad is on sale.

From their ad on Instagram. Not one item is on sale. 100% bait. I don’t need any of this I was just curious about the XPLR since I just bought them.

What type of laptop bag are you all using?

I was gifted a Tumi shoulder bag back in 2014 by a client, and it's been absolutely bulletproof...as it should, since it retails for $550. The thing still looks damn near brand new. It does everything I need a bag to do, but I want to switch to a backpack-style bag.

Tumi makes some nice ones, but I'm not sure I'm in the mood to spend $550 to $650 on a backpack.

I'm okay spending $150 to $350, so what are some of you using?

Thanks.

Edit. Holy moly so many options. I still can’t get my eyes off the Tumi. But I’ll look at some of these options. Thanks.

My wife lost my camping folding chair

I’m so said. This was a camping folding chair with bag that I’ve had since college (mid-1990s). She left it at our kids football game. It’s survived all this time while other newer chairs barely last a season. It showed no signs of wear. It was always ready no matter the conditions. It survived fraternity parties, beach parties, my first marriage, and much of my bachelor life. But it couldn’t survive my wife. 😒

Any recommendations for a camping folding chair that doesn’t fall apart? Price is not a factor. Quality is.

Misdiagnosed as Poison Ivy😒

As a mountain biker, poison ivy is common. I took a tree branch to the side of my head. A day later a rash from hairline to my nose. So I went to urgent care and diagnosed with contact dermatitis. This was a PA not an MD.

This past Monday things progressed much worse and the pain was unbearable. This can’t be poison ivy. So much pain and the rash looked awful. This urgent care was an MD. He took one look and said shingles. With it being around my eye, I was sent to ophthalmology, which turned out fine.

It hurts still but finally getting some relief. It sucks because the left side of face looks awful. I’ve had to cancel two media interviews and most likely will miss a black tie event next week. I can’t showing up looking like this.

In my 53 years, This is probably one of the worse things I’ve had on my body. It hurts so bad. It looks awful. I hate it so much.

XPLR 303 on Warbird

Currently running 45s on my current wheelset (21mm internal). They fit great have decent clearance. Pushing the limit on that internal.

The XPLRs are 32mm so they will flatten out the 45s. Worried they might not have the clearance. Anybody running the XPLRs with 45s?

I have a 2021 Warbird.

Thanks.

Hi all, I’m in town for the summer (from Boston area) and learned I’ll be attending a black tie event here in GR. They told me a suit is fine. I didn’t bring a suit. So I need to get a suit.

I prefer custom/well tailored options. Ideally a place that takes appointments.

I’ve been given the following and wondering if anybody can recommend one:

Jurgens & Holtvluwer Menswear (close to me)
F.David Barney
Fitzgeralds
John 3:16 Style House
New Yorkers Menswear

I’ve been told to avoid Ak Rikks.

Thanks in advance.
