This is one of the largest male wolfies I’ve ever gotten to handle. -Northeast Texas
I believe he is a Hogna Lenta (Field Wolf Spider) but please correct me if I’m wrong.

He was a tough one to catch. Wish I got a video of him doing his hilarious -albeit adorable- spider “gallop”

I got made fun of in middle school for my nose, and then have never heard a thing about it since. What’s the general opinion now?

A very shy female I found on some cardboard at work.

I think these spiders get a bad rap. They are actually very docile when calm.

I mentioned it in my black widow handling post, and shall again here; I have handled hundreds of spiders and have never been bitten. Being gentle, patient and calm is all it takes to appreciate even medically significant spiders :)

Wolfies are surprisingly good swimmers.
I gently brought this one out of a puddle.
I just missed her doing some adorable pedipalp window wiping. Don’t you hate getting pondscum in your eyes?

I’ve been doing the middle part on and off for about the last 5 years.

Does it fit my facial structure? Anything I should/can change?

Heyo, it’s me again :)
This is one of my absolute favorite spiders, Rabidosa rabida.
This one is a fully grown female.
She just was sitting on a friend’s backpack. I was pleasantly surprised at how docile it was.
No sprints or startle responses; just a gentle walk into my hands.

Cutest little Hemidactylus turcicus.
-The Mediterranean house gecko!

I wish I had longer footage but needed to stop recording to get more comfortable.

You all know what she is :)

These are images I took when I used to live in Colorado.

She must have been very old and getting ready to go, as her behavior was incredibly docile.
She moved very slowly even when I disrupted her nursery to handle her.
The nursery is also how I ultimately narrowed down her species.
It took me a long time to figure out!

By far the largest spider I’ve ever handled -I have large hands. Nearly a 4” diameter.

-Yes, I got a kill assist for this one!
-I love spiders, yet hate house centipedes, so this was satisfying
-Seeing predation behavior is so interesting
