Baby great egret does the "feed me" dance

I film a local egret rookery. Yesterday, I captured this video of a baby great egret doing a pretty funny "feed me" dance. Nice moves!

Chaos at the rookery, plus an important update

This video is a bit longer than normal. I'm afraid that it will have to hold us over for a little while because...

The rookery is currently closed to the public.

The owners are doing some projects, and making improvements. You may have already seen some of them, like protecting the big oak tree by rerouting the driveway and putting up a fence.

Visiting should be possible again in June.

I also want to note that I have moved the Unofficial Visitors Guide off of Reddit. The post had grown to be too complex to edit with the Reddit text editor. I'll post updates to the Reddit post for the rest of the season.

Who did I catch in the act? [Savannah, Georgia]

I'm thinking yellow ratsnake, but I don't know snakes at all.

This place is an egret rookery. I go to there to look at birds. It's windy and cool today, so I went to see how the babies were handling it.

These are the first snakes I've seen, after 100+ visits.

Of course, you see the coolest stuff when you only have a crappy cell phone camera. Sorry about the terrible audio.

[Win10][Firefox] Issues editing a post

I posted this to r/help, and it was suggested that I try over here.

I maintain a fairly lengthy guide for visiting a local nature spot on my city's subreddit. I have the guide as a comment to the main post.

I need to update it regularly. I cannot figure out why I can't edit this thing.

The RTE doesn't update (An error has occurred).

If I switch to markdown mode, the edits will occasionally stick, but most often I get the generic "An error has occurred".

I can add some numbers, for example 123456, and it will save it. I can then replace the numbers with six letters (egrets) and it won't save. There is no rhyme or reason that I can see.

Specifically, I am trying to edit the bullet points at the top, but the issue occurs randomly no matter which part of the post I am editing.

Is there any way to figure out what is causing the actual error? Is there something wrong with my markdown?

Win 10, newest Firefox. Tried Edge, too. Same issue.

Here is the markdown of the post as a text file: https://lastbutnotlost.com/redditrookeryguidemarkdown.txt

Thanks.

Alligators Bellowing

Have you ever heard alligators bellow?

Yesterday, I spent 3 hours showing the rookery (details) to a family member, in the rain.

During a break in the rain, two of the alligators went right up to the bank and did some bellowing.

Then, they may have taken steps to perpetuate their species. Or maybe they were just cuddling. I'm not sure.

This a rose-breasted grosbeak that passed through Savannah during yesterday's rain.

He is migrating from the Caribbean, or Central or South America. He's possibly headed as far north as Canada.

He hung out for the day, perching around my yard, and eating sunflower seeds from one of my feeders. A mean ol' red-bellied woodpecker ran him off!

This is my first sighting of one of these. They are really pretty and interesting, so I thought I would share.

Be on the look out!
