I have an original desay SW0317 HW036 RCD330 and I am trying to install a dynamic line backup camera in a 2006 Jetta.
My camera is supposed to work with the RCD330 based on the seller’s advertisement. I received a trunk pull backup camera, video lead to the radio, black converter box, video cable and a can+/- cable pass through
What is that passthrough cable for and why would my camera only work one time. Did it burn up or did I do something wrong?
I picked up this MK6 GTI steering wheel. This one was compete and in relatively good shape but really nasty. It looked like the pervious owner put their hands in mud before driving it. There were clumps underneath the trim that looked like caked granola. Likely it was just used for 13 years and never cleaned.
I started by taking it completely apart. I removed the heavy dirty first. Then scrubbed gently with a soft foot brush and a few drops of Dr Bronners. I rinsed it under the faucet till the soap was gone. Repeated until the brush stopped being so dirty. Dried with a towel, cleaned with alcohol and left it to dry out over night.
Today I wiped it down with a cloth, put on three light layers of Angelus Jet Black acrylic paint let it dry 20 minutes in between coast. After that 3 coats of Angelus Acrylic matte finisher #620.
I think it looks way better now.
I have an 06 Jetta with a dual connection antenna. My car came with radio, 6 cd changer and satellite. I upgraded to an RCD330 and had to get an adapter to connect both to the radio. My antenna works fine but the plastic fin is cracked from an over zealous car washer. I have a replacement one but I also have the smaller type that only has one connection.
Does anyone know which connector is for satellite? Since I am not using satellite with the RCD330, I am thinking I can use the smaller single connector antenna and eliminate the adaptor.
Has anyone found a good speaker upgrade from some other car at a pick and pull, that is a direct bolt in with exception of wiring). Something like a Bose or something of equal quality?
