How would you add a pair of cdjs and a mixer here?

How would you add a pair of cdjs and a mixer here?

My girlfriend prohibited me already to buy a table to make an L shape table.

Considering selling the push and going a bit more to the right.

How do you guys cope with a producing station and then decks? Side speakers are awkward also but I cannot think of another way.

No, we don’t want to be part of your “label”

No, we don’t want to be part of your “label.”

You spend months making your own tracks, and they release it with the most generic, absolute crap, soulless AI artwork possible.

They create a new streaming profile (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) for you on every fucking release because they don’t know how to properly tag your existing profiles, so you end up with five different profiles that nobody manages.

They don’t provide any proof of royalties or ownership of your own music. Does it even belong to you? Can you even take it down if you want to?

They run your track through a random Ozone preset they use on everyone else music and call it “mastering.”

Then they don’t even provide you with a download link to your own mastered track so you can play it.

They release tracks under the wrong name, with misspellings or the wrong BPM, and then don’t even know how to fix it or have any interest in fixing it.

They create a Bandcamp account and never show you a single cent earned from it, or even a honest THANK you.

Their “audio engineer” doesn’t even know how to solder or fix a simple audio cable.

They don’t know how to tag even the bare minimum of metadata. Try it: download your track from their release and plug it into any CDJ or even any car player.

They do absolutely zero promotion. You give a week, a month of your life to the release, and they don’t even take a minute to write a proper album description. It’s literally the tracklist and MASTERED BY: some generic dude self-entitled “audio engineer” who doesn’t even know what the word engineer stands for. And if it has a text it’s absolute crap AI generic text.

They release music from literally anyone. If you literally record yourself shitting in a WAV file, there’s a good chance it gets released.

The “VA” is literally just random music from random people.

They proudly announce a new “LABEL ARTIST” who turns out to be the biggest woman-beating, drug-addicted scumbag on earth.

Is it a VA because it means “Various Artists” or “Various Assholes”?

They have absolutely no respect for you, your time, your art, your friends, the people who support you, or the scene that listens to you, buys your music, or travels god knows how many fucking hours just to see you, spending hard-earned money to go to the worst trash, insanitary “rave” that nowadays doesn’t even have access to water, not even if you pay for it!!!

No, we don’t want to be part of your label.

They are literally just scumbags with a laptop. They don’t know how to manage $10 without turning it into the lowest quality possible blow mixed with god knows what.

So fuck them. Do your own thing. Release your music with your friends, people who actually support you, who are happy for your development, who cheer for you, who listen to your music going to work 7 in the morning, who put your sticker on their car, laptop, or bike, who buy your merch, and wear that worn out tshirt with your name on it even to go to somebody’s wedding.

Almost hitting my first 1000 plays!

I’m somehow almost at a 1000 plays on Bandcamp, which is honestly the most impressive achievement because growing on Bandcamp feels like trying to sell water to fish.

No joke, Bandcamp has been the hardest platform for me to grow on. Meanwhile, one Bandcamp purchase is worth about the same as 47 years of Spotify streams and a handshake from jesus.
So if you’ve ever listened to my music, liked, hated, accidentally clicked, or you’re just feeling like you wanna experiment extreme bass heavy genres after your third or fourth beer of the day, help me push this project get to 1000 plays.

Let’s reach this completely arbitrary number together so I can get a brief dopamine hit before
immediately worrying about reaching 2000.

Thanks to everyone supporting underground music. You’re the reason weird people can keep making weird noises and calling it art. ❤️

Dj eq recommendations

Anyone got a decent 3-band EQ VST or M4L for mixing in Ableton?

And before someone says “EQ Three”, that thing has been gaslighting me. Every time I set everything back to 0 dB, somehow my volume is different than it should be.

I’m looking for a proper DJ mixer-style 3-band EQ/isolator (not HP/LP filters), something I can use for live transitions between tracks.

I tried a Max for Live device and it kinda works, but it doesn’t fully kill the bands at minimum, so I’ve ended up with some workaround involving extra gain staging and random automation that sounds sketchier than it should be.

LSS Isolator was the absolute GOAT for me, but it doesn’t run on Apple Silicon and I really don’t want to launch Ableton through Rosetta just to use a single EQ plugin and sacrifice performance for the rest of the set up.

What are you using these days on M-series Macs? Preferably something that behaves like a proper DJ mixer EQ with full kills and doesn’t mess with the overall gain structure.

Free versions always appreciated

What's your crazy story with soundcloud support? Fuck it's literally impossible to get an answer from the support with less than a month. I requested maybe 6 months ago to update an album artwork that got cropped with some white lines and I even got an answer but it never got corrected. now I had a release with metadata mistake as putting feat artists as main artists as well and it went as "various Artist"compilation even tho the album has literally 8 tracks, with ALL of them having one artist listed as first main artist and 4 of those tracks had a feat. stupid me putting the second artists as also "main"and it became this mess and not showing up correctly in the artist catalog. now SoundCrap is taking almost 2 weeks to "review"the takedown request and then pull it out. Other releases I did with the same structure didn't went as various artists. only when it was literally a VA with 8+ different artists with tracks. I'm done paying this bullshit. what do you guys use to distribute? when you needed the bare minimum of support from the distributor, how was it?

You can listen to it here: https://malzone.bandcamp.com/album/malzone-vol-ii

First come, first served!

220 - 544 BPM

If you feel it, follow the project here:

You can find me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/malzonetatuagens/

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2ayooNTrx6TDCAb10mt3cv?si=WotDIxx9REOXpknr2L9a4A

Soundcloud where post tracks and previews: https://soundcloud.com/malzonetatuagens

Album made for live rave and festival presentations, usually track channels, and stems, and then the Live section separated by: Kick and bass, ATMs, PERCs, Leads, FXs, and Vocals. Then I use the Novation Launchpad to launch the clips and Launchcontrol XL for filters and EQs. Also mapped beat repeat toggles on the buttons.

Everything was made with Ableton, bass usually Serum or Operator; atmospheres I used MIDI piano, guitar, feedback looping and some wild time stretching with samples. Leads I use a lot of serum, vital and operator racks. Percs I usually do samples, Kontakt or Reaktor on follow action, chopping them up.

Also if you also produce (darkpsy or anything similar), drop your SoundCloud/Soptify link, let’s connect!

And if you’ve got questions about production, Ableton workflows, live setup, whatever, hit me up!

Be the first maniacs listening to it. Soon available on the worst streaming platforms.
