Will Ferrell brings his golf alter ego to Connecticut’s Travelers Championship

Connecticut golf fans saw a particularly recognizable face this year, as actor Will Ferrell arrived at the Traveler’s Champion player clubhouse.

Ferrell was not expected to participate in the pro-am event, focusing instead on climbing his way back up the world golf rankings — the 58-year-old actor is in character to promote his new Netflix series "The Hawk," which centers around Lonnie "The Hawk" Hawkins, a washed-up golfer looking to reestablish his career.

During his visit, which lasted several hours, the popular comedic actor mingled with many of the PGA Tour’s biggest stars, drawing excitement from world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

AMA - Thursday, June 11, 2 PM EST - I’m CT Insider reporter Alex Soule and I cover business, development and the Connecticut economy. Ask me anything. 👇

Hey! I’m Alex Soule, a longtime business reporter with a specialty in all things real estate.

We're doing an AMA in r/Connecticut on the state's housing market and wanted to bring it to r/Hartford as well.

Why is Hartford the hottest market in the United States? That's how Realtor.com sees it based on how many people are looking at each listing -- more than five people views for each. Affordability is one answer -- if you have a choice of where to live, you are going to get more house for your money in the Hartford area than in Fairfield County, where median sale prices are about $400K higher.

If you want to know more, ask me anything! Here are some sample questions I'd love to talk about:

  • What will it take to ratchet down prices in West Hartford or Simsbury or other hot markets in the Hartford area?
  • If greater Hartford is in such demand, are developers following with proposals for new houses, condos or apartments?

I know the housing market is super tough right now. Have questions for me about how to navigate it? Just want to chat about why the market is the way it is and if there’s any end in sight? Join me here at 2 p.m. EST for all that and more. Please feel free to drop questions in advance, but note I won’t start answering them until June 11.
