It Is Up To Pedestrians To Avoid Getting Hit By Vehicles

I have been a pedestrian for the entirety of my 53 years and I have come to a conclusion: it is not up to drivers to avoid hitting me. It is up to me to avoid getting hit.

There are a lot of bad drivers, distracted drivers, aggressive drivers, impaired drivers and clueless drivers and sometimes even good drivers make a mistake.

Putting my life in their hands seems dumb to me so I assume drivers will do the least safe thing in every situation and act accordingly.

Knowing the driver was in the wrong won't be much consolation if I'm in traction.

Don't be a clown like me and buy these, it's just a plastic coil that does nothing, basically decorative.

I don't know what I was expecting, extra torque impact resistance or something, anyway.

Saw a 60 minutes piece on these Straight edgers, I didn't know it was a music scene as well.

Growing up 90s New Zealand I saw a 60 Minutes piece on straight edgers in the US and it definitely stuck in my mind, apparently it was centered around Salt Lake City and they might beat you up with a baseball bat if they catch you drinking a beer. They didn't smoke drink or take drugs. It may even be still a scene. Fascinating.
