Issues with using employee comp classes at other studios
hi i’m honestly just curious to see if anyone else has run into this issue. i’m currently in Raleigh NC, but i get employee comp classes from my dad who owns a studio in MA. all of the studios here are owned by the same group but recently i’ve had issues with one studio in particular. i booked a class last week for a saturday only to be told that i can only book 30 minutes out from the class because im not a paying member. i was very confused as i had previously gone to several others in the area and was never told about this. i went to other studios in the meantime and again never had anyone mention anything about the policy
then today i went back to the studio who told me i couldn’t prebook, and the manager came up to me and told me that she had spoken to her regional manager and that the regional said i cannot prebook at any studios in the area and that i have to call the studio 1 hour prior to the class starting to see if there’s room so that they don’t have to “kick me out” if a member wants to take class.
i’ve worked at 2 different studios under 2 different owners and have never heard of a studio enforcing their own employee rules for employees of other studios. I’m honestly just confused, i submitted a complaint to the ownership group after the first time just to ask for clarification since i had taken classes at other studios no issues but have not gotten a reply.
