iui timing

Me again 😅😅 I’m absolutely fuming about my iui timeline this month…..

So cd10 (today) my follicles where 17 and 16 (today’s the 19th on Wednesday)

I’ve been told to gonal F tonight, trigger shot on Thursday night at 8pm and then iui will be 9am Friday morning because she says my LH shows I’ll ovulate early sat morning

I just feel like the timeline is way off and killing my chances at any success I may have….

I have never seen an iui done z13hrs after trigger, but she said she’s concerned I’ll actually ovulate early this month so she would rather do it earlier than too late…

My partner always has 100% motility numbers so I’m hoping they can last… I’ve also read mixed things about how long fresh washed sperm lasts, I’ve read 24-48 hours but I’ve also read 12 AHH

My partner as I will have intercourse tonight, and also Saturday morning to cover as much time as possible but we the all natural way hasn’t worked for 12 months hence the iuis…. So it’s honestly demotivating when we have intercourse now because is there even a point

Follicle Size question

I just had my IUI #2 cycle. At my CD13 morning scan, my follicle measurements were:

• 18 mm

• 16–17 mm

• 14–15 mm

• (plus a smaller 13mm)

I triggered about 31 hours after that scan (and had my IUI 24 hours post-trigger and then had intercourse 12 hours after iui).

My doctor was really happy with how they were looking, and my math says that 14-15mm one had time to gain a couple more millimetres before the trigger shot and ovulation! But of course, my brain in the TWW is overthinking everything.

Has anyone had success/BFP with a lead follicle around 18mm accompanied by slightly smaller secondary follicles in the 14–16mm range at the time of scan? Would love to hear your experiences!

Thank you so much! ✨

I also took my gonal f dose that night before trigger and that tends to boost them a little bit more!

2nd IUI completed! Looking for positive stories & feedback on our timing

TW: mention of CP

I just completed my 2nd IUI cycle and wanted to share my timeline to get some feedback, and hopefully hear some positive stories from anyone with a similar timeline!

For background: Our 1st IUI last cycle sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy….

• Tuesday: Intercourse

• Thursday: Ovidrel Trigger Shot

• Friday (24 hours post-trigger): IUI procedure

• Friday IUI Stats: 10 million total post-wash count with 90% motility

• Saturday Morning (13.5 hours post-IUI): Intercourse right around the 36-hour post-trigger window (basically right on expected ovulation time)

3 follicles! 1 on the left and 2 on the right.

25 years old, unexplained infertility

Would love to hear your thoughts on this setup! Did anyone have success with a 24-hour post-trigger IUI or adding intercourse the morning after? Any positive outcome stories?!

I’m a very stressed and tired girl

TW: chemical

Has anyone here gone straight into an IUI cycle immediately following a chemical pregnancy and gone on to have a successful, full-term pregnancy? I could really use some reassurance that the cycle right after a loss can actually work….

I had my first ever IUI in June, after 6 months of medicated cycles and no success, had never seen a positive before. This cycle I finally had my bfp and sadly had a chemical 3 days following it, I’m so heartbroken.

I’m worried that was my only shot….

I have my iui coming up in a week or so and I just don’t know how I’m meant to stay optimistic

Testing day

When did everyone have their positive pregnancy test?

My clinic told me to wait until 14dpo, but I’m being impatient this month as it’s felt like the slowest TWW of my life…

I’m 9dpo so I won’t test today incase there is residue from trigger shot. When did anyone get their true positive?

Long Post, but please offer advice…

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some reassurance, advice, or success stories because I’m finding this TWW really difficult.

This is my first completed IUI (my previous one was unfortunately cancelled).

My cycle details:

•	One mature follicle

•	Triggered Tuesday at 11 pm

•	IUI Thursday at 11 am (36 hours later)

Sperm wash results:

•	Post-wash: 8 million with 100% motility

I’ve seen so many people mention that 10 million+ post-wash is ideal, so I’m feeling anxious that 8 million might not be enough. Has anyone had success with similar numbers?

I’m also a little disappointed that I only had one follicle despite being on 75 IU Gonal-F. I know one follicle can absolutely be enough, but it’s hard not to compare myself to others who have multiple follicles during IUI.

Another thing making me anxious is my progesterone. I have a history of short luteal phase before fertility treatment (my periods used to arrive around 7–8 DPO). I’ve been on fertility medicated cycles for 6 months now and was taking 400mg progesterone pessaries to lengthen my luteal phase.

My 6 DPO progesterone was:

•	48.5 nmol/L (Australian units)

•	15.3 ng/mL (US units)

This was before my Ovidrel booster that I took later that day. Because of taking Ovidrel they aren’t making my take progesterone pessaries this month

Today I’m 7 DPO, and I had a small amount of light brown discharge in my underwear (not just when wiping). Around the same time I also had some abdominal bloating and mild cramping.

Now I’m terrified that my period is starting again because of my previous short luteal phase, even though I’m hoping this cycle is different.

Has anyone experienced:

•	Light brown spotting around 7 DPO that wasn’t the start of their period?

•	Success with only one follicle?

•	Success with around 8 million post-wash sperm?

•	Similar progesterone levels around 6 DPO?

I’d really appreciate any opinions, reassurance, or success stories. I know nobody can tell me what’s happening, but hearing from others who’ve been through something similar would really help. ❤️

12dpo FRER

Okay I understand I may have major line eyes, but is there a second line?! 5th medicated cycle so I’m feeling discouraged and don’t want to get excited…

Normally though 12 dpo it’s so stark white it’s obvious I’m not

I can see the line more clearly in person than on the photo…

Opinions but please be nice 🥹

3 follicle Success???

I had my cd13 scan today, one 19mm and two 15mm follicles! I’ve been told to trigger shot at 11am tomorrow and iui 11am the following day (so 24hrs post trigger

I’ve been doing Gonal F so I’ve been asked to do one more shot tonight to really push those other follicles.

Should I excited about the 15mm follicles? My Dr said yes but I can’t help but think they are small (my follicles do tend to grow 2mm per day)

Also any chance of twins? I’m 24 with no issues, bloods are all incredible partners semen analysis is great, just have unexplained infertility unfortunately

Tmi but one thing to note is I never have CM, even if I reach up there I’m normally very dry so hoping IUI will help.

This is my 5th medicated cycle, but first IUI

I also had a Hycosy done two months ago

IUI Timing

I just need a little bit of reassurance, I’m a serial worrier so my mind is full right now

This cycle will be my first ever IUI, 4 months medicated with no success so we are trying it out.

The only thing is that my clinic does iui 12-40hours after trigger, after all the research I’ve done I would rather it be within the 30-36hr range.

I’m really worried that 12 hours will be way too early as I heard that the washed semen can only last 24hrs?!

My clinic is only open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s for iui though so unfortunately I may not have much choice if I end up having to do 12hr after trigger. It’s making me really upset and stressed. It’s $1500 out of pocket so I just want to maximise this cycle as much as I can

Any successful 12hr post trigger iui?!

I’m having my cd10 scan on Monday and will find out Monday if I need to trigger or not (last month I triggers cd11)

iui advice

Please give advice to a pretty sad girl,

I’ve just failed my 4th medicated cycle, I moved from clomid, to Letrozole (which I did not respond well too) and then Gonal F injections. This month doing gonal F and trigger shot made me so hopeful, one great follicle and a possible second one 39 progesterone result day 21 of this cycle, every symptom under the sun and boom not pregnant.

I’ve had a HCG done 8 weeks ago, all my bloods are great including my thyroid which is actually fantastic, I’m also only 25.

My partners semen analysis was also incredible.

My fertility specialist said it’s up to me whether I do IUI this cycle and I’m unsure!

I’ve always noticed little CM during ovulation so maybe the iui would help if I do have thicker cm? Did anyone else do one with no partner male factors in the way?

I’m honestly feeling hopeless and exhausted, I know it’s going to be only the 5th medicated cycle month but I just never thought it would take this long, I had so much hope when I met the fertility specialist back in Jan

My known issues before I saw the specialist was the incredibly low progesterone and 8 day luteal phase ALWAYS.

I just feel like giving up, was IUI the final piece of the puzzle for anyone?

Feel like giving up

I’ve just failed my 4th medicated cycle, now on to the 5th and it’s starting to cause me such severe anxiety….

This past month was the most promising month I’ve ever had, progesterone was a 39, trigger shot, Gonal F, every symptom under the sun.

My bloods came back incredible, parters semen analysis great, I’m only 24, had an HSG 8 weeks ago with no blocked tubes.

I’m just exhausted and I don’t know what to do anymore….

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the TWW of a medicated cycle (Gonal-F + Ovidrel trigger) and was hoping to hear from others who have used a similar protocol.

On my trigger day, I had one lead follicle at 22mm, but also a secondary one at 15mm. My clinic had me do the standard trigger, but added a "booster" of 50iu Ovidrel at 5 DPO (in addition to progesterone pessaries).

I’m curious about two things specifically:

  1. Follicle Maturity: For those who have triggered with a "secondary" follicle around the 15mm mark, did your clinic consider that a likely contender for ovulation, or did they view it as too small?

  2. The "Booster" Protocol: Has anyone else used a micro-dose HCG booster (like 50iu) mid-luteal phase? My progesterone levels have jumped significantly compared to my last "standard" cycle (reaching 126 nmol/L / ~40 ng/mL), and I'm wondering if this is a common response to the added HCG or a sign of multiple follicles contributing.

Trying to understand the mechanics of this protocol and how much that 15mm "underdog" might be playing a role in my current hormone levels.

Thanks!

Hi all!!! Does having this high of a number greater my chances at all or does it not really change anything?

What were your progesterone levels in a medicated cycle?

Side note I’m on progesterone pessaries and also did a trigger shot!

I started pessaries 4dpo and then did my blood work on 6dpo.

9th month of trying, 4th month medicated cycle and I’m starting to feel exhausted…..

39.6ng or 126nmol for us Aussies measuring
