Chongqing for Mid Autumn Festival Sep. 24-29 Hotel Area Feedback

Chongqing for Mid Autumn Festival Sep. 24-29 Hotel Area Feedback

I am visiting Chongqing for my first time in Sept. I arrive on the 24th and leaving via train on the 29th for Chengdu. This will be during the mid autumn festival so I know things will be crazy and I can't wait!

I am a queer solo traveler and have heard that the Guanyinqiao area is the more local, trendy area and that I might want to stay there. I do plan on doing all the basic tourist attractions but also like to hangout in local bars etc that aren't just tourists. I am debating between hotels.

One is in Yuzhong District: Nicole Hotel https://www.trip.com/w/HskGFN95rV2

One is in Guanyinqiao: City Convenience Hotel (Chongqing Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street Branch) https://www.trip.com/w/BEOqGB75rV2

I am not looking for hotel specific feedback just thoughts on the area. I worry traveling on the metro between the two areas taking a lot of time but am unsure which areas I will be spending more time in.

Any feedback would be appreciated. If you will be there the same time or are a local send me a message!

Yeztugo Nodules - Anyone have them completely go away?

Just got my second Yeztugo injection in my abdomen. My first injections are still very noticeable when you touch them. They are not painful or visible.

Has anyone had the nodules completely disappear, dissolve, go away?

I’m going to reevaluate at the 1 year mark and may switch back to pills. I don’t mind the bumps if they eventually go away but can’t have 2 added every six months and each stay for years lol.

Any idea what caused this and how to fix?

Moved in about 5ish years ago. Just started noticing these dark lines and spots in a spot in my living room. In the lines it almost looks like there are cracks in the wood but not 100%. You can feel these, they seem raised.I do have an older pet that has accidents but don’t know how urine could cause lines like this.

Any ideas what they are or how to make them look better?

Edit: This area also gets baked in the sun during the first part of the day if that matters.

On the window ledge of my building. We see hawks from time to time and I’m assuming this is a young one. Think it’s okay?

Chongqing Mid-Autumn Festival & Chengdu for Golden Week

This will be my first trip to China. I have had long layovers in Shanghai before, where I left the airport, but just a few hours before flying on. I already know the crowds will be insane, and I am looking forward to the intensity.

Itinerary

Chongqing 09/24-09/29

Chengdu 09/29-10/05

15-hour layover in HK on the way home if you want to throw in any suggestions for there.

Mainly in both locations I am looking for area recommendations for hotels. I would like to stay somewhere, preferably within walking distance to the gay bars or at least minimal transit. I expect Didi's to either be expensive due to the crowds or just barely usable due to traffic. Will plan to use public transit and walking as much as possible in both locations.

In my other travels I have relied heavily on Google Maps and I know that I will need to use Apple Maps or an alternative this trip. It is really hard to figure out where things are located. I am also looking for any gay bars, saunas, bath houses, massage spots you would suggest in both cities.

Places I have heard of so far:
Chongqing | The Loop, Woof, Neon, Blush Bar

Chengdu | The Butterfly, Monster Bar, Pose Club, Hunk

Unsure about the reliability of these locations, as things often change.

WeChat connections? I have an account but limited experience. Not sure how to use it to connect with people before or during my trip. Especially since I don't speak Mandarin.

Finally, VPN recommendations. Lots of conflicting information out there so just wanting to make sure I have something solid before leaving the states. I plan to get an eSIM on arrival.

TLDR: Looking for hotel area recommendations that are within walking distance from gay venues in Chongqing and Chengdu. Also looking for gay bar/space suggestions, VPN suggestions, etc for first time traveler to China.

Moved Props to Soil

Just potted my first water propagation into soil. I asked my co-op if anyone had a pothos I could take cuttings from. As you can see, I got a lot! I have been rooting in water for about 6ish weeks.

I wanted to it them all in a 7 inch pot but it seemed a bit much. So I did one bigger clutch and then 4 smaller ones. Cross your fingers for me. Hopefully it goes well.

Dracaena (Corn Plant) Help

I think I have this mostly figured out but open to suggestions as well.

Window is South Facing. It gets no direct light but I don’t think that is my issue.

The soil has been wet since I bought it and planted it. I need to replant with some perlite and I think this is the main issue.

You notice though there are two new spots where greens are coming out of the soil. I thought these only sprouted leaves from close to the top.

Can I cut the shoots at the top completely off? Looking for suggestions of how to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. New on the plant journey so please don’t judge me lol.

Window Cleaning Advice

Need advice for how to get these clean. I don’t believe it’s between the glass but nothing I have done has made any improvement. Definitely on the outer pain. We have had lots of construction and they were pretty bad when we moved into the building.

I don’t want to spend a ton of money trying half assed products. Figured I would ask some professionals.

This is not an access question. I have access to the outside of the glass. What product to use to remove the buildup.

My Office Plants

  1. Poinsettia - random gift for Xmas. Goal is to get it to turn red for Xmas 2026. Gonna give it a go and see what happens. At a minimum it looks like my pruning has done the job of helping it bush out.

  2. Peace Lily & VFT - Separated this Peace Lily from a larger one I have at home. I worry it may need more light but it gets lots of indirect sunlight. VFT is a new bog I have set up.

  3. VFT - I have a few different varieties in here. 5 plants total I think. Using some cheap grow lights while I wait for my Sansi to arrive. They seem to be doing alright even though I got them filthy while repotting them.

  4. Pothos - Wanted a pothos but all the ones at the store looked leggy and expensive. Got a bunch of clippings from some neighbors and going to try and propagate them in water before transferring them to soil in a couple weeks.

  5. Monstera - Attempting to propagate and keep a monstera in Water.

Propagating Pothos

Decided to collect cuttings from a few of my neighbors and make a new Pothos for my office. 1st time giving this a try.

My plan is to let them sit jn water for a couple of weeks, 3 max, then plant them in a 5-6” planter with soil.

Wish me luck!

Cooperative Pothos

First time posting here. Wanted a pothos but after a trip to some stores with them nothing I found was exciting. I decided to ask my neighbors and they delivered.

I collected cuttings from 2 neighbors but I have even more who have reached out. Taking these to work to root in water for a couple weeks then putting in all together like this in a 6inch pot with soil. My hope is to have them climb up my desk lamp a bit.

Way more interested in a bushy Poth over a leggy one.

I’ll do my best to keep you all posted :-)

Office Desk Bog

Just planted and started my office desktop bog. I have some cheap grow lights on them a friend had but have a Sansi BR30 40W LED Grow Light Bulb With Remote on the way that I will replace them with.

I will be sure to keep ya updated on the progress.

I have been trying to do a more transformational haircut compared to what I regularly do. Looking for an edgier undercut look. I usually go to a barber and getting them to understand what I am looking for isn’t working.

Preferably something that will not break the bank but will pay for quality. Manhattan preferred.
