I want Rex 121 Spyderco snapped in half.ive had this under 2 months. I was cutting a watermelon box and the blade got caught in the cardboard and snapped. I’m in Canada so I’m also kinda afraid they’re gonna. Confiscate my knife at the border. I’m really sad considering this is a knife I expected to own all my life.

i know my knife is pretty beat up but for anyone who might have a little insight is my knife voided for the warranty or is it worth sending it in? i love my para 3 and its sentimental to me as i’ve had it for years but they don’t offer replacement blades. any suggestions?

Bought this Spyderco smock from ebay it was brand new with box and papers . Upon cleaning the house my wife threw the box away. Will I be able to send it to Spyderco for reprofiling? I also lost two out of three screws on my pocket clip will they fix it as well or should I just get it fixed by myself? Thank you !

Update: okay okay I get it. I learn from my mistakes and won't be doing this again. Hopefully from the number of upvotes other people have found this info useful. Like I said below I'd done this before and thought "survival knife with big hefty blade should be able to do this". I guess I was just lucky before. Anyway thanks for all the feedback, lesson learned. No need to dogpile any more, the message is clear.

Had a bundle of wood for the campfire with not much kindling. Easy I thought, I'll just baton some with my Signal, done it before and it worked fine. This time a couple of whacks in and the entire blade snapped where it is divided for the massive thumb guide.

I'm sure Leatherman will send me a replacement blade but I definitely won't be trying that again on anything but the wimpiest of wood.

It does seem like the blade is unnecessarily weakened by the current design. Are there other blades that would fit this knife that are more robust?

A schedule 40 pvc pipe going to the booster pump for my pool broke. I have extractor bits but not one big enough for 1/2" pipe so I decided my Civivi Elementum in Nitro V would work to get it out. I hammered it in with a couple of gentle taps. Then I used pliers to grip the blade and when i started to turn it to reverse it out, it snapped on me. Oh well, time to upgrade my beater knife. We had a good 3 year run!
