Found multiple live worms inside a Max Protein Bar mid-flight. Still horrified & disgusted.

Wasn’t sure if anyone else has experienced something like this, but just saw another post on this group with the same problem, but I’m still pretty grossed out by the whole thing.

In April, I bought 4 Max Protein Bars (Choco & Berry) from Blinkit before flying from Delhi to Trivandrum. During the flight, I opened one of the bars and took a bite. No damage to packaging or any holes etc, absolutely fine and normal pack well within the expiry date.

Almost immediately, I felt something with a really weird texture in my mouth. I took it out to check and realized it was a live, moving worm.

At that point I was completely horrified, so I checked the expiry date etc. pulled the whole bar apart on a tissue paper to see what was going on. There weren’t just one or two. I found multiple worms inside the bar.

The thing that’s bothered me the most is that I genuinely don’t know whether I swallowed one before noticing. Physically, nothing happened for the next few days & I’m fine, but mentally it completely ruined the rest of the flight and my work trip. The combination of shock, disgust, and constantly wondering “did I just eat a worm?” is not not great.

I took photos and videos immediately, along with the packaging details, batch number, etc., and reached out to the company expecting them to take it seriously.

Instead, the response has basically been: since I didn’t preserve the actual bar and hand it over to them after my trip, there’s not much they can do.
Which is honestly baffling to me.

I was on a flight starting a 6 day work trip. Was I supposed to carry around a worm-infested protein bar in my luggage for days just in case I needed to submit it as evidence later?

What’s even more frustrating is that the solution they’ve repeatedly offered is free Max Protein goodies and products. They collected the other bars from me to send for testing but have came back with responses saying everything in their testing is all fine. That too after I sent them a legal notice demanding and investigation & compensation. The guy who came to collect the other bars pulled out max protein goodies to offer me as compensation lol

After finding live worms in one of your protein bars, the last thing I want is more max protein products.

The entire thing feels like they’re treating this as a minor customer service issue rather than a serious food safety concern.

I’m posting the photos and videos here because people should know about it and because I’m curious if anyone else has had similar experiences with packaged food products. Maybe I’m overreacting, but finding multiple live worms inside a sealed protein bar seems like something that should trigger a little more concern than a voucher and some freebies.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What did you do?

**Didn’t post this right away because I wrote to the company asking for an investigation and sent them a notice through my lawyer friends. I genuinely wanted them to look into it since I’ve consumed 50+ of these bars across a couple of years as they were my staple go-to when travelling for work.

Compensation offered from them - refund for the bars purchased and more max protein products 😂 along with a denial of any lapses or wrongdoing. I am going to file a complaint with FSSAI and also file a suit. Saw another post with the same issue on the group just now so it’s obviously been going on.
