Looking for a place that is casual, very private, and elegant. Not too expensive.

I have a discussion to have with someone. Romantic interest aside, we have business to discuss and Eve's droppers are not welcome. What is a good place that is intimate, yet private on the island that doesn't break the bank in terms of price. Quality of food / services important, but privacy is Paramount.

I can only think of certain places in Austin where is a wall between booths, etc...

Edit: we could go up to 30 min off the island. Privacy is Paramount. Big moves...

Just reassembled my first lock and need new picks/locks to try. Many ?'s

Abus 72/40, practicing for green belt submission. About 3 hours of cursing and things flying across the room until everything clicked and I could probably do it again in 10 minutes.

Now to get everything on video and move onto my paclock 90-A Pro and a project.

I am trying to build a small do it all or at least "do as much as possible and not be a tool roll" pocket kit. So far it has my reaper set, traveller hook, many types of tensioner, and a couple of rakes I seem to never get much use out of

Everything so far has been done with my "cheap" Chinese beginner set or my reaper set, and the Mctickler seems to be the best raking tool so far... However I'm thinking I'd like something like the echelon so I can add in tubular and dimple play time.

Should I get the larger dedicated tubular pick that looks like a bit driver or is the simple one in the echelon kit sufficient? And It looks like sparrows may be the best bang for $ on a dimple set?

Anyone have recommendations for profiles to try or good locks?

So far I've defeated a Master No 5, Master magnum circular(like you see on storage units), Brinks 40mm laminated, ace hardware brass, abus 55/40, and ABUS 72/40.

I saw a link floating around for cheap used old locks a few days ago but I can't find it now.

Adjusting to my new peel

I live small so have had to build on the peel until now. I just got 2x5 stainless table outside and a Gozney pro 16" peel. And am making pizza again for the first time in forever. Had to relearn some things and not as pretty as they used to be. Just sharing photos.

BBQ pizza sauce(2 parts pizza sauce to one part bbq) with leftover smoked pulled pork , low moisture mozzarella , and white onion. It was divine.

Pepperoni, hot Italian sausage, low moisture Mozzarella, finished afterwards with clabrian chili oil, fresh basil from the garden, and homemade ricotta: a favorite of mine.

Finally have a decent dough and method for that crispy but not burnt bottom. Made on the gozney Arc XL.

Figured out who my first contact was from

Repeated some experience from my initial contact, only this time the medium was me.

A bind-rune was drawn that potentially translated to "ass" by the medium the first time. Was unsure about that...

Samigina/Gamigin. It required merely a simple Octogram and some automatic writing on my part.

As soon as I told my wife about this, she mentioned that this same day she had received something Free from "sticker mule" in the mail and stated that she cut off the little horse from the sticker and set it inside to save it because she might use it...

Anyone have reliable resources or records for working with them? A cursory search shows they are great for luck and wealth, but any dangers?

They seem attracted and eager to speak with me. Do we have natural attractions or affinities with goetic entities?

Thanks.

Ace Brass 38mm spp kicking my butt.

I can rake this thing open in 2 seconds with the mctickler, but I can't for the life of me get all the pins to set manually. After about 10 minutes of blindly feeling in there it popped but that was random luck. For the past few days now I can't get it without raking.

Not sure what I am doing wrong. From what I can tell 4/5 are spools in this thing?

Been using the reaper 1 and 3 picks.

BOK seems more reliable than TOK as I get more sets, but maybe I am over setting some? I'm feeling for binding pins and pushing until they click. Not much counter rotation sensation to speak of. I've tried varying my tension, lubing the lock, using a vice, etc, and it won't crack. Listening as I let off tension to start over, I hear 3-4 big clicks.

Also tok and navigating around the warding is a pain plus that first pin is hard to feel compared to bok. Am I supposed to be angled all weird from the bottom while using tok?

Warding/defense question

I've only done some very light work with a unicursal octagram (no circle) drawn in flour and had VERY surprising results - immediate unsolicited and unintended contact via a nearby sensitive medium.

This was an undeniable contact. This person is young, not at all acquainted with the occult, and walked into the room and began writing in the flour some unrecognizable words.

Then he drew a recognizable shorthand or semi-goetic sigil(a sort of bind-rune of celestial which had significant multifaceted meaning) , and then wrote "Ello".

When I asked what he was doing, he stated that he was just "writing something real quick."

Trying to get my mind around proper warding and protection for my home and person before going further.

I want a solid real defense that is good enough to negate hexes, curses, etc. and repel unwanted or harmful entities. Seems logical to learn this before exploring further.

Lessons/review after a week of riding the oryx.

Working my way up to long range (up to 100 miles/day) commuting. I've been trying to get up to speed, literally. So far I'm up to about 45mph(edit: now 55). To reiterate some great advice I got earlier in this sub that has proven invaluable:

"Pads are required for a wheel this heavy." Definitely. Huge difference.

"Work your way up in 5mph increments and keep emergency stopping until you are stable and comfortable." This is probably the best piece of advice I've gotten. Seriously. It helps get comfortable going faster.

Things I learned on my own that will hopefully help others:

Riding an EUC is like riding a bike. While skill is perishable, your body still never forgets (at least not after 3 years) how to ride in general.

I immediately lowered the pedals on day 1.

I am right on the line of 70lbs and 66lbs suspension at 190-200 depending on how much beer and pizza I've been ingesting. Because I may also ride with gear like a backpack loaded with stuff, and may add a small rack to the oryx for tools or whatever, I went with 70 lbs. It feels a little stiff at the very lowest settings with just me. I was under the impression there'd be a bit more overlap.

I'd like it a bit softer to absorb more, so I feel like I may end up swapping to the 66 lbs. Shocks at some point. Hopefully it breaks in and has more give.

Starting and stopping have new strategies at this weight. Especially locked in with pads. If I want a graceful stop at this level of practice, it better be intentional and gradual.

For stopping an oryx, grab the front handle and put your ass on the ground behind the wheel. Not only will you stop faster, but you will get better at squats.

Yes it is really that big. Yes it is really quite heavy. Borderline too big, but I needed range. I feel a bit uncomfortable walking it around indoors. Feels like breaking the rules, and it attracts a TON of attention. Not like wheeling the 16X around.

While lifting this much weight is not a problem for me(subtle 💪), for some it could definitely be inconvenient. And wrestling it around can get tiresome.

The gyro effect at speed is pretty crazy. I have to use body-english similar to a sportbike, both "hanging off", and weighting/pushing down on the pedal to get a decent turn going above 25 or so. It's very stable, even when it wobbles.

Everything WRT settings is set on the wheel itself, which I love. The menus are fiddly and old-school, but it comes with the territory. I like the minimized attack surface for malware on a device that takes me at life threatening speeds on a single point of contact with the ground.

That's all for now, but I may revisit/edit this as I think of more.

Stay safe y'all!

Tips appreciated...

Newbie here. Got a cheap set of picks as a present(the wife has been nailing them recently), and fell in love with it immediately. I've long known details and always wanted to try.

So with all the trashing on master locks I figure they are a good place to start. Also, they are everywhere so it's a practical approach.

I've opened a master no5 by basically sneezing on it. Single pin and rake. Shocked and disappointed in the world.

A Brinks 40mm laminated that's been out in the weather for a few years takes a bit more time and effort, mostly single pin. Minutes(sometimes a lot) instead of seconds. Moving on from those I bought a master magnum disc lock and one of the new Master elite pk15's.

The disc lock I can open. Raking is sometimes seconds and single pin is a crap shoot. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's 20 minutes of "wtf". I can't help but feel a bit too random with success. Sometimes I win just by feeling. Sometimes even with heavy torque it feels like all the remaining pins are moving free.

I try to vary my pressure on attempts to see what works.

The Elite I can set 4/5 including what I believe are 2(maybe just one?) security pins by using the pick for counter rotation, but can't seem to crack it.

I wonder what details I am missing in feel. Maybe I am over setting, or torquing the cyclinder weird? I have only done BOK so far as it seems like TOK gets more in the way. I understand the mechanics of rotating the cylinder closer to the center, but maybe my picks are too large? I can't help but feel with thinner picks/tensioners I'd have more precision and better feel.

The set I have is this one:

https://www.lockpickmall.com/25-pieces-lock-pick-set\_p.html

I know it isn't great, but I am working on trying to find what I should and shouldn't buy for a minimal set of nicer picks/rakes.

Thanks in advance for your wisdom!

Oryx on the way! Any tips coming from a 16x(couple years rusty)?

Haven't ridden in a few years. Going to take it nice and slow getting used to it, got all my safety gear. Shoei, gloves, leatt chest and knees. Working on demon wrist protectors.

Never had suspension. Been looking for that long range, go anywhere machine. It will be used for long range commuting.

Has beidou pads and seat as well.

Never had pads or a seat. Started on a V5f and then went to a 16x. Occasionally got speed wobbles on the 16x, but I liked it a lot.

Thinking I'll get a roger charger and an EV adapter soon and look into all the crazy mods I've been seeing.

Any tips from my Sherman/Oryx/large wheel riders?

Why is it that seeing omens is acceptable but seeing patterns is mental illness?

Drawing conclusions about modern events leads to the label of a "Conspiracy Theorist", but seeing 111 everywhere is awakening?

Can I get some clarification on why such a focus on Alliterative Names?

And also just names in general?

Peter Parker, mitsuyo maeda, miyamoto musashi, Mikey musumechi, etc. ad infinitum ...

Also the odd timings and just too perfect coincidence of names:

Enron was Arthur Anderson, Bernie Madoff"made-off" with a bunch of money, " pretti/Goode" was a pretty good distraction," BOAZberg" kept progress from being made, etc. Etc. etc.

Semi-newbir question: Who is the "Lord of Roses?"

In one of Butler's books, he mentions invoking the lord of the roses. However I cannot find any definitive occult reference to the particular persona. I'm not sure who he meant.

Also, semi-related, who or what is the "red one?" Or "Big Red?"

Thanks!

Initiate a touch overwhelmed...

I have dabbled in occult interest since I was a preteen. I am 36 now. I have read the kybalion, the Satanic Bible(La Vey), some Manly Hall(Secret Teachings of All Ages), I own the Golden Dawn by Regardie, but it's pretty dense. I spent 6+ months very dedicated to practicing Tibetan Vajrayana meditation and became laser focused and noticed many synchronous events in my life. As if the road were rising up to meet me. My divorce ended that practice, and I fell off the wagon l, so to speak.

My ex wife died shortly after our separation, and in the subsequent months, and for about 10 years, continuing to today, I have been subject to intense synchronicity.

In many ways it feels as if it could even be interfered with, as so much of it is potentially explainable by intentional human action. I hesitate to use the term "gangstalking", but it tracks, and it does not normally replicate itself in acts of the "natural"(non-human) world. I do possess qualities and a history, both online and off, that would be of genuine interest to a number of organizations.

I noticed a recurring theme of freemasonry and poked at that, going and spending time with them, but I simply cannot bring myself to trust them with myself in such an exposed state as their initiatory rituals place their candidates.

HOWEVER, recently (since I decided to return to college for electrical engineering) events have been overwhelmingly synchronous, at times hourly, thoughts and actions synchronizing with various events, symbols, and actions, both human and otherwise.

I have been reading W.E.Butler over the past few days...

Looking for the trail of breadcrumbs for self-initiation... A nudge in the right direction on the path... Or maybe just a kick in the ass... Not really sure how best to proceed...

I asked about self-initiation and described my interest in hermetics and such in /r/occult, and was dm'd this place as a resource.

Thank you for your time.

Legitimate, Non-Masonic Occult initiation?

Basically the title.

As much as I find Freemasonry to have a slight appeal, I have my doubts about their overall sincerity. There are too many stories and news reports. even recent reports out of the Northeast about a Grand Lodge covering up the abuse of a Mason's wife.

These are not the types of things conducive to having one trust a group to perform a ritual upon you.

Are there other groups, means, or resources that one can use to achieve similar result?

I have been reading Manly Hall, W. E. Butler, and touching on Israel Regardie.

Seems most things are pointing me to Kaballah and the like. I find myself partial to the Tao te Ching, Buddhism, and drawn to hermetics and gnosticism.

"Grizzla" Pads?

I stepped away from riding for a few years right as we started adding suspension. I'm getting back into it and now I see EVERYONE with these pads on the sides of most wheels, presumably for extra control. Their popularity must mean they work well.

A couple of questions:

"Grizzla" brand pads seem a bit expensive. Are these the same ones that are offered with most higher wheels for free(I'm getting an Oryx)? Are there cheaper alternatives that are still good? They are just plastic and Velcro, right(3-d printable?)?

Any suggestions on which pads/setup configurations are best, especially for an Oryx set up to be a "do it all" machine for a larger rider?

Thanks!
