The award is always won in the second half, and Yama is just getting better. Meanwhile, I think the league may have figured out Sanchez, and the league will figure out how to time Misiorowski soon. Shohei will struggle to get his innings pitched numbers up.
Was reflecting on Dave Roberts' comment: "Shohei, he's like an exotic car. He’s finely tuned … so when it’s out of whack a little bit, it sort of just doesn’t work. He’s very in tune with his body, and so with fatigue, with being sick, with travel, whatever it might be, there’s things that get you out of whack."
If that's the case, then Yamamoto is the equivalent of a Toyota: it never breaks down and always comes through.
Give up early runs? No problem. Short rest? No problem. Game 7, bottom of the 9th, with the winning run on third base on ZERO rest? No fucking problem.

Wally Backman is back where he belongs -- in the dugout managing a team that's trying to find its way again!
I overpaid for this, but I don't care. Love Roki's story. Resilience and toughness personified.
I previously posted some thoughts about this card:

Another interesting fact is that this card, the 2013 Ohtani Konami SR7, is the only card that lists Ohtani as a right fielder! This is likely because the card was used for a physical arcade game, and Ohtani would have to be slotted into the game into one of the actual positions on the field.
All other Ohtani cards that I could find do not designate a specific outfield position. This is the only one. Add this to the fact that the card is one of only four rookie cards that depicts Ohtani in both a batting (front) and a pitching (back) pose, and you have what I believe is the only card that captures all of his early roles in detail.
Did anyone else catch that during the broadcast last night? At a bodyweight of 175, that's pretty impressive.
I was thinking about this after seeing the Big Sho's funny reaction prior to getting hit in the ass by the 75 mph sweeper. My vote for toughest is Will Smith. The only time you can tell he feels pain is when something breaks.
