Tips for contact lenses for someone with an eye phobia
I feel so dumb for being so scared but ever since I was a kid I hated everything to do with eyes. From seeing pictures of them in a biology textbook to having to put mascara on for a performance. I have so much trouble putting anything near my eyes. My body kind of immediately says no - I get hot flashes and feel very anxious as if I want to crawl out of my own body.
That being said, I really, really, really want to be able to wear contact lenses. I needed glasses 3 years ago (actually 5 years ago but after 2 years it really wasn't safe to drive anymore) and wear them every day. I hate how I look with them. I just don't have a face for glasses and they often overstimulate me by sitting on my nose all the time.
I've had an intake at an laser eye clinic, with the thought of "only having to do something brave once" regarding eyes (so, lasering them and being able to see on my own again) instead of having to face the fear every single day.
I'm just so scared I won't be able to get them out due to not being able to either keep my eyes open or get my fingers close enough. Anyone who's had the same issue? I'd really appreciate tips.
