iPhone died overnight because it charged MacBook.

As the title says. I just bought this phone Friday afternoon, and did not charge it overnight that night. I had work this morning, so I charged it overnight last night. Or so I thought. It went up about 10% (to 50%) before I put it down and went to bed, and then when I woke up, it was dead. Luckily, I’m used to waking up at the same time every day so I wasn’t late for work….but oh my god? Do I need to keep my Macbook plugged in if I want to use it as a charger? Since I just switched over from an iPhone 13, I don’t have enough usbc blocks for both my watch and my phone, so I usually with opt to use my Mac as a charger for my phone. I’ve never once had this happen to me before. Is there something I can toggle so my phone doesn’t do this again?

Is this true? Second opinion?

I just left my first ENT appointment to discuss a tonsillectomy, and the doctor didnt instill much confidence in me. He wrote that my tonsils are “3.5+ and widened in the AP dimension” which is fine, and not where my problem is, just to establish eligibility. However, my problem is this. He said “recently” the bleeding rate in his patients is 10% and that “it’s so severe it requires additional surgery” so I have to be within 30-45 minutes of the hospital. Because “ERs no longer feel comfortable working with our tonsil bleeds” …. This is crazy, right? Is this just a bad surgeon, or did I just underestimate the risk? I was seen at Mass Eye and Ear.

Am I insane? Drafting a 104hr trip.

Hoping to get some advice! I’m in the very preliminary stages of planning a trip for this fall/next spring. I’m looking to go from Boston to San Jose (go sharks! go bruins!) and, well….I don’t know. I took a trip in March down to New Orleans, and I was coach the whole trip down. I did a long report on that when it happened, but essentially the hardest part for me was the mental aspect. The ride down all I could think about was how much longer I had left on the train, and this trip would be double in length. I also didnt find the seats the most comfortable (which apparently was a hot take!) and the length of the trip made me consider getting a roomette. The problem with that? The coach round trip ticket is $580, and the roomette round trip is $2,450. I have a friend who considered doing the trip with me which would bring it down to about $1600/pp but… still. Thats a lot of money, and I’m still on the train for 4 days. Just be real with me. Am I going to want to end it all if I go coach from Boston to San Jose? $600 for a drive like that, I think, is a no brainer. But how do I get through the mental aspect? Are there enough stops along the way to keep me sane? I really have zero interest in flying. Looking for any and all advice, including if I should just ditch this idea. It’s a life dream of mine to see a Tasmanian Devil, and I know they have them in San Diego. Would it be cheaper to go to SD from Boston, and find an alternate way to SJ just for the game? Thanks everyone!

23M looking for housing

hello all! im looking for a studio or one bedroom apartment!

hard requirements:
2 miles or less from a train (commuter or mbta)
most if not all utilities included
2 roommates or less

my budget is $1850 a month, up to $2,000 with utilities that are not included. places without utilities included, my budget is $1500. i’m a recent graduate (2025) and work full time in my home town. i do not drive, and do not plan to, so the 2 mile radius is a hard limit. 5 if its a real pretty place, lol. i also do part time seasonal videography for various hockey teams, so that will take up my fall/winter weekends!

i would prefer a place on my own (as im sure everyone does) but if i had to take on roommates, i am NOT looking to live with cis men, sorry. i am a (fully transitioned) trans man, and don’t want to share my space with another man. i would be most comfortable living with other trans people, but i’m fine with living with cis women!

i mostly like to keep to myself in my bedroom, and keep a neat area. i love hiking and hockey, and got my degree in digital media with a minor in philosophy. i have a fish allergy, so if you’re someone who’s diet is reliant on seafood, please leave me out of it! my full time job is working with dogs, so if you are sensitive to dog fur, please keep this in mind. i do not have a dog of my own, but i am in contact with 100s daily. i’m someone who may hang out with friends often, but in my own room. i’m not a big living room type of guy. i don’t smoke nicotine, but i do smoke weed. optimally i would appreciate being able to smoke in my own room/space, but i am fine taking it outside if need be. i would love, love, love, a place with a porch for this situation, but i know they aren’t the most common.

ideally i would like to move in the fall, but i could also go in the winter. not looking for an immediate move! perfect for anyone graduating this winter :)
people with studios or one bedrooms, please let me know the basic specs of your current lease. potential roommates, please send me a dm about yourself and the space youre currently occupying - OR - if you are not currently in a place but are looking to move at a similar time frame, thats fine too. thanks! my instagram is @dmackadelic for people looking for a vouch, or whatever. (can remove this if not allowed!)
