How do we feel about $DFUS?

I like the evidence based approach regarding the small-cap companies they take off. But what do y’all think? I’m not a boglehead but have a similar philosophy.

Lifecycle investing, how do you feel about it?

I read a book on it recently, and realized I already half practice it. A bad summary is that if you use margin at a young age you diversify your stake through time while having higher exposure to your life time earnings earlier. This only makes sense at a lower rate. I already do this through Robinhood, using their 5% margin (totally unrelated but their 3% credit card is the best) but I don’t do the 2:1 ratio the book mentions as I just am not comfortable with that much risk. Which the book mentions as well, not everyone should do 2:1, and the risk of being wiped is always there, however I wanted to see what everyone else thought about the book/philosophy? I’m constantly trying to learn about how to invest. It’s hard for me to sit back and relax tbh, I like saving a large portion of my paycheck and putting it towards investments. And I’d like to think that being in my 20’s quantifies the effects.

I welcome criticism just be insightful.

What would the collapse of the Bond Market mean for stocks?

I want to see your takes. Countries outside of the U.S. are selling off their bonds, bond yields are increasing, and I want do discuss what would happen as a positivity in all my lack of PhD education.

But although I’m not invested in bonds, at all, I wonder how that might affect the stock market in the U.S. & elsewhere as well.

Update: I made it! 100k

Ok so, I finally made it. I moved my brokerage to Robinhood and still have my Roth with schwab although I might transfer it since they match 1% on transfer 3% on your deposits. And I did make an emergency fund.

I make about 60 a year at the moment but I drive an old Toyota and have been for 5 years. I live with my sibling which keeps rent low. I don’t drink nor smoke (not really due to finances, just don’t like it). I have a few friends that I visit once every few weeks and I like going out for runs, training MMA, and hike, cheap activities that overall outside of the mma ordeal. If I buy something expensive it’s probably gold and silver. And I love using the Robinhood credit card too, 3% everything!? Oooooof, and I send my points to get invested.

I will say I saw a boost once I went heavier into stocks instead of ETFs. But they’re riskier so yeah.

Edit: 24M, Mexican-Born. Forgot to add my age. But if I do people won’t click.

Found a good deal on it recently. Only like $50 over spot if I remember correctly. That might’ve been per oz but it’s ok, I’m happy with it.

It’s Been a while since I dropped more than $5k on a single item. Funny enough it’s worth more than my car. Just living below my means.
