PSA: take these performances with a grain of salt

PSA: take these performances with a grain of salt

Just to remind y'all, it's preseason. None of the starters will be taking it very seriously. Expect Scottie to just be trying stuff out there. The starters will rest after the second quarter. The only meaningful takeaways from this game should be for the bench/end-of-bench players. Anyways, enjoy the game y'all.

[Jake Fischer] Still sounds like the Clippers' aren't quite ready to get back on the phone with Toronto, even though, as @TheSteinLine reported, the NBA league office would process a trade call without an interim governor in place.

Fuck the Clippers

Edit: they did mention that the celebration is too big for one night, so maybe jerseys/a court will be made too?

Kawhi needs to be punished severely and the trade needs to be voided

It pains me to say this, but at the same time, it's a necessary thing that needs to happen. Kawhi WILLINGLY and VERY FLAGRANTLY proposed all of these side deals to get paid. The Clippers being the Clippers agreed to comply with his demands and executed them. They need to be punished to the full extent of the CBA for the sake of the integrity of the game (even if it's already compromised from within, a show of consequences means something).

I want Kawhi back in Toronto as much as the next person. But it's looking bleak. And he brought this on himself. Him, Steve Ballmer, his uncle, his former agent, the Clippers organization all need to be punished, even if it means us not getting Kawhi. It's the responsible thing to do for the NBA.

Pablo Torre is dropping another Kawhi episode tonight 😅

He said he's gonna explain how the RIFC thing connects with the Clippers and salary cap circumvention

Obligatory fuck you to all the parties involved in this BS salary cap circumvention that's making the Raptors lives more difficult (including Kawhi, even though I want him back)

Dress Code Toronto Office

I'm starting at PwC Toronto in September, and I wanted to know what the dress code is like in the office. What types of clothes can one wear on a regular basis? And what types of shoes?

Absolute BS Theory but hear me out

I got a very crackpot theory (hence the shitpost flair but its not a complete shitpost), but hear me out:

We aren't winning the championship this year.

Shocking, I know. Obviously we're a couple pieces away from true title contention. But we'll make noise, that much I can guarauntee.

What is this remniscient of? The 94-95 Bulls after Jordan, their superstar, returned. They got bounced in the second round because of Shaq and Penny Hardaway. After that season, the Bulls got Dennis Rodman and the rest is history.

We're a Centre/PG away from competing for a title, but I don't think Bobby will pull a trade until he sees this current iteration play together and see what they can do.

But if they do get bounced in the second round this year, and trades happen afterwards... 🤷‍♂️ (not a threepeat to be clear, but a single chip is possible)

I doubt this'll happen, but a small part of me is convinced history sometimes repeats itself.

Media Reliability Tiers for future news?

The Kawhi trade saga over the last couple of weeks had a ton of news coming from multiple sources, and the reliability of said news was always questioned. What if, similar to r/Barca, we implement our own tiers for reporters/news pages so that we can all know how reliable they are. These tiers would come in the form of post flairs that inform people quickly how reliable a certain piece of news is. Would that be feasible on this sub?

Also, since I'm a VERY new Barca fan, obligatory VISCA BARCA ‼️‼️‼️

Starting CPA PEP soon, how do I prepare?

Hello all,

Next month, I start CPA PEP with CPA Ontario. I just graduated a little while back, and PEP is the next big thing on the horizon for me. I want to be able to study and practice as much as needed during PEP so that my chances of success going forward are high, but I have no idea how to prepare in advance for it. On top of this, I start working full-time in September, so that'll definitely change my schedule, but I also know that as long as I stay disciplined and keep working, I'll be fine (🤞).

With all this being said, given that I have a month till PEP begins, how do I begin preparing? I've seen the syllabus for Core 1, and it looks beefy, so do I focus on the starred subjects only? And how do I schedule what and when to study each week with all this material coming my way?

Thank you all in advance for any guidance 🙏

Driving is scary af

I just had my first driving lesson ever today. Instructor was super nice and friendly. Didn't berate me, or force me to do anything out of the ordinary. He even said at the end I did good for the first time, considering I drove home. However, I felt I did terrible. His hand was on the wheel all the time to make sure I wasn't drifting. I didn't look left and right before crossing a road on a green light. My eyes kept drifting to something else on the road or in the car, despite trying to focus on road ahead. Occasionally I went above the speed limit by a bit. Even my accelerations and breaks were too sudden. It all felt so fast. I don't know how I'm gonna magically go from this to being a good driver.

Should I confess knowing the possibilities and not expecting anything in return?

I graduated from uni a couple days ago. I liked this girl for the past 4 years, but could never say anything because I didn't want to make it awkward at school by asking her out or confessing. She has always been friendly with me, but nothing beyond that. I know she doesn't like me like that, I can tell. But given that uni is over, and I can't stop thinking about her, would telling her, while not expecting any reciprocation, be helpful with moving forward? Or would that hurt her in the process? I don't want to cause any harm.

Big 4 ---> NBA?

Hello all,

The following question might seem ludicrous, and I'm 99% sure this isn't feasible, but I wanted to ask more experienced people anyways:

I'm starting in the Big 4 (Audit) in September. Obviously I'm not going to leave the job immediately, I'm going to do my time, and accumulate experience. But I also know that I don't want to work at a Big 4 my whole life. The NBA is one of the few things I'm truly passionate about, and I'd love to work there and work my way up the ranks there. Is is possible for someone in the Big 4 to transition to the NBA? And if so, how? Also, I'm not talking about a FO role, I know it's practically impossible to get close to those roles without connections (which could come MUCH later), nepotism, or influence.
