What is this rounded nook in the kitchen? What should we do with this space?

What is this rounded nook in the kitchen? What should we do with this space?

I know this isn’t the best picture - sorry! About to move into our new home, built 1913, and the landlord mentioned this nook in the kitchen was previously meant for the fridge. I’m having trouble finding what it’s called online, and wondering what others would do with this space!

caused a crash and i don’t know if i can drive again

my parents keep telling me it’s ok but i just feel so much guilt (deservedly so of course) for messing up and i need unbiased opinions

yesterday i was pulled up to a stop sign and saw another vehicle far down the road to my left. i’m usually so careful to let other cars go before starting my movement so i don’t know why i had such a lapse in judgement, but he seemed really far away, so i pulled out to cross the intersection and suddenly he was right there. i tried to turn into a defensive manoeuvre but it was too late, and i took an F150 to the driver’s door. i had a passenger with me (her car) and we were thrown into a ditch.

thankfully the other driver + passengers have only minor injuries as far as i know. but i can’t stop replaying it in my head and i’m so angry with myself for endangering others like this. i can’t help but think i’m clearly just a danger on the road and shouldn’t be driving. i’ve been told that he was seemingly going quite fast, but at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. i always wait, but the time i didn’t, i could have killed someone

i think my mother is getting better? nervous to feel hopeful

hi everyone - i just found this group while searching for similar experiences. i don’t wish to discuss details but my mother has been dealing with what seems to be hoarding for the past few years. i wanted to help, but she unfortunately found a therapist who seemingly enabled her further, and since i ended up moving out i couldn’t do much.

i’m not sure she ever really accepted what was wrong, however she had a wake up call of how disastrous her home was when she wanted to hire a pet sitter. i moved back home recently and the house looks… ok? it’s a bit cluttered still, but we can move around and use the space properly. the pets can play in the living room again and we’re able to (mostly) use the kitchen.

it’s been a few months that things have been better; she tells me she feels so much more comfortable. yet i’m still nervous to accept this - what if things suddenly get bad again? it will feel like defeat all over again + the new betrayal

anyone here have similar experience? should i be bracing for the worst??

really overwhelmed by surgery decisions

sorry if this is a bit all over the place, i’m trying to pull my thoughts together

last summer i saw a gynaecologist for pain. we tried a few medications and the only one that helped was myfembree. it’s important to note this medication has a 2 year limit

december of that year i went back as i was still getting minor flare ups. she offered surgery and i accepted. this is when i learned that she does ablation. i was aware this wasn’t ideal but i thought it was still ok. i considered trying to book with a specialist in the city i go to school at but the wait times were well beyond when i would finish my degree.

my surgery has now been booked for july and i’m kind of panicking. my understanding is that ablation may help for superficial lesions? but i see everywhere that is isn’t recommended over excision.

**here’s the main issue**: if i don’t get this surgery and instead decide to wait, the limit on how long i can take myfembree will land next summer, while i’m actively in classes for my masters program. my program goes for 2 years straight including summers, so this is my last free summer where i will actually have time to recover.

any advice is welcome, please. what would you all do in this situation?

platinum hair went brassy the next day??

i got my hair done professionally yesterday and it came out a beautiful icy colour. there was maybe a hint of yellow but honestly not noticeable unless you’re looking for it.

this afternoon, i looked in my mirror and noticed the mids to ends have started to look a bit yellow already? i’m very confused because i haven’t done anything to it. what should i do?
