First, the big picture:
The past 2 months I've been constantly feeling more anxious, and the things that were once easy are becoming more difficult to cope with. I'm also in a transitional period of having finished trade-school and leaving my current job which, although shitty, I've grown very accustomed to.
Now the background(trigger warning; anxiety):
A year ago in September I started welding school, and it was a pure recipe for burnout; First I'd work my 8hr shift from 7am to 3:30pm, an then I'd clock out and drive almost 2hrs (70 miles) to my trade school where I would do 3 +/- hours of welding and then drive 70 miles back home where I would arrive at about 10:30pm. (I respect that many in this subreddit might not be driving either out of struggle or personal choice, but bare with me here)
Here's the funny part... after a short while, I loved it! When I'm in the right mindset, I enjoy driving and not to brag but I'm pretty good at it. For the first few months I was doing phenomonal!
However around the 3 months in, the weather and sunlight began to change, and what was once easy then became anxiety enducing, and by the time the clocks changed I could no longer drive on the NYS Thruway or else I would feel claustrophobic and have a panic attack. By January things got really bad, I would feel this sort "mental constipation" that would induce anxiety. Kinda reminds me of an episode of Black Mirror called "Playtest" in which the main character started losing memory of his own name and who he was as part of the game. But I gave myself a few days of rest here-and-there and kept persisting.
I needed to do this to move on to the next stage in my life. I live at home with parents who I'm just not ethically in line with and our relationship is souring. 8 years prior, I had failed out of college for similar anxiety and derealization long before I was ever diagnosed, and I couldn't allow myself to lose this opportunity.
The good news: I'm proud to say that I finally finished what I started, and I now have 3 welding certifications in Stick, MIG, and, TIG, and I passed with high-honor roll! I even made some friends along the way!
The bad news: I've been finished with school for almost two months and I'm now dealing with chronic on-and-off anxiety and sensory overload that doesn't seem to go away. Even under normal circumstances, its been difficult to catch my breath sometimes when I should be able to just chill and relax. I honestly can't tell if its getting better or worse. I currently started taking yoga again which does help, and looking into therapy will be my next step, but Ido wanna take action because I don't think this'll necessarily go away on its own. Do you guys have any other recommendations? Any advice helps, thank you!!
Preface: I'm suprised nobody in the subreddit made a list like this earlier, but I decided to post one now because occaisonally I see people saying "I wouldn't have bought that if I knew it was made there". I was contemplating putting this up because pro-Israel gun owners could just come along and have a list of products to choose from. However most of those people likely already know that these products are made in Israel and are buying them because of(or regardless of) that fact, and also most products coming from there are pretty damn expensive even compaired to products made in the USA..

Sorry for the poor quality, it just happened to pass by me going through Kingston an hour ago. Spotted another one of these about 6 months ago up in Albany, they're probably coming from Alstom's Plattsburgh factory (aka "Bombardier 2"). Not sure if this is the new power-car or if its just a cab car. Either way, its really exciting seeing NJT getting some new electric trains!
PACE Transportation in Michigan is restoring one of the only Strick Cab-Under's ever built.
This one really bothers me. Doogies hats is the only union-made welders cap in the US. I'll admit, it doesn't entirely suprise me since everything about the company seems like its run by older guys that probably watch ai videos unknowingly on Facebook. Send 'em an email and tell them you want them to hire REAL ARTISTS!
What brake shoes do you guys buy for these? I couldn't find anything online about what brakes will fit, so I bought some Polini 80mm x 18mm shoes on Treatland (Polini 176.1241) but they were way offset and they did not fit into the brake cam. Even after griding them to fit, they expand out all crooked, and I don't think they make proper surface contact inside the drum.
This is a custom built Harley XR750 Hillclimber at Kaplan Motorcycles, and I'm looking for info on this tri-spoke wheel. Is this an OEM Harley mag I've never seen before? It kinda looks like an 80's Kawasaki Ninja tri-spoke, but I've been comparing images and they all look quite different this ond (none of them had a wheel-center like the one on this thing).
Two restored Horizon cars from Alstom Plattsburgh have been spotted on a Lakeshore Limited 448 to Boston.
NOT MY PHOTO! Image posted on "Amtrak Next Generation Equipment Updates" on Facebook (cant link).
Edit: these were at Alstom Kanonah, not Plattsburgh
