What in the actual fuck is happening

A lot of you have been doing this a lot longer, but I've never seen this before.

I double checked my clamps and hoses thinking I was losing my mind.

Compressor's pulling 6.4A on all 3 legs, OA is like 76.

I'm training a new guy, and I'm starting to think he didn't do any research into this career path

So this is this guy's first HVAC job out of school. We do commercial service, primarily light commercial / RTU work for corporate retailers.

Now, to preface, I'm a 40ish hours a week guy. I don't want OT, and I hate being on call, but I also acknowledge that this is my career, and it comes with the territory. I won't bitch if I gotta work late sometimes, but I'm not signing up for extra hours.

This new guy though, he's talking about when he's on his own, talking to our boss to try to work 40 hours flat, and not be on call on weekends.

Like??? Hello??? After realizing how serious he was, I've been trying to poke him a little to see if this is really what he wants to do for a career, because I just don't see that happening in service. I told him he'd be better pursuing a path in commercial new construction, which, at least when I did it for just a couple months, seemed like a regimented 40 hours. Facilities maintenance can be fixed like that too, but usually you gotta have the service experience to get in in the first place.

I don't wanna tell the guy how to live his life, but I also don't wanna waste my time, as well as his, training him if he ain't gonna stick around when he's not gonna get what he wants. I just can't fathom not even having an understanding of a basic work schedule for the career you went to school for.

He runs a lawn care business, which he has to scramble to find time to do in the evenings when we get done, and I'm thinking, utterly flabbergasted, like you thought you'd have time to run a lawn care business? And your day job is repairing air conditioners? And still have free time? In the summer?

Am I being too harsh?

Show me your Szeras models without the human

I've always been bothered by the Szeras model, because as a display piece, it's extremely cool looking, but as a gamepiece, I can't stand it. All the other models show the unit either in movement or standby, which are neutral positions for a battlefield piece.

But Szeras just has has this dude he's actively pilfering of life. If you're not against guard, it really doesn't make sense for a human to be there.

I wanna see what those of y'all have done who didn't include the poor sap.
