It hurts so much and I think I haven’t been letting myself feel that

Every now and then I rewatch ditto and the vid of the girls reacting to it and have a huge cry. I’m doing that rn and just wanna say it really hurts how all this happened and how the magic that made new jeans and ditto was attacked instead of embraced. How the girls were legally harassed and threatened. How they weren’t recognized and allowed to flourish for the revolution they brought to pop. Their echoes are felt in all the ditto-inspired concepts groups today make and the countless other iconic moments NJZ have had. It hurts and I’m sad and I wanted to post in case anyone else feels like they haven’t let themselves be sad about this. New Jeans will be ours, forever. Love u bunnies

How history will remember Discovery

EDIT: 70 comments and two upvotes GOOD DICUSSION EVERYONE

I wrote this in a comment but thought I’d make a post too. Discovery fans lmk what you think.

Discovery was a good show. It had flaws but so did older treks. It followed the familiar pattern, where season 1-2 were awkward, moments of interest but mostly bad. It was Trek that took the leap out of the episodic arcs and embraced being cohesive. I love when it does that.

One of my favorite Star Trek arcs of all time was Saru and his transformation. That was dope as hell.

The best moments of TNG were when characters evolved and those stories were weaved into later episodes. I’m thinking, Troi and Worf’s relationship, Picard’s Inner-Light experience and the flute, and of course Riker and that beard.

This felt like Discovery’s moment, shining at its brightest. Saru transforming genuinely caught me off guard but in a beautiful way. It was an awesome turn for his character, almost like the show lifting its head out of the dystopic-cloud of modern sci fi.

Its characters had depth and their stories mattered. Watching Tilly become self-assured was really satisfying. I think she was written great and her actress did an amazing job.

I thought Burnham was really good. I think her character really hit its stride season 3 onward. She becomes a mature, assured, flawed but redeemed, officer. I think her origin being Spock’s sister felt kinda forced and I never really latched on to it too much. I like Spock and the actor, but idk it left me wishing the show would just leave all that old trek behind and chart some new territory that’s why I was really excited by the time jump.

Book is hot af. Lol but I thought he was good. Was cool seeing him get introduced to Star Fleet.

The mycelium thing was awesome. Just like the warp bubble, taking some new research or idea and bringing it in to the world. Naming a character Paul Stammets after the actual scientist is dope af.

Overall I enjoyed the post-time-jump story, felt like the show was finally escaping the “you’re here cus of the JJ abrahms movie” trap its early seasons were stuck in. The whole “reminding this quadrant of the values of Star fleet” is topical for today’s politics but with a more subtle hand than older treks. I hope new trek shows are doing this. Hope and utopia are so absent from fiction and we need trek to inject it back into our lives. Going back to Kirk feels too nostalgic and safe. Let’s go forward instead.

It had goofy plot lines that kinda didn’t make sense, but like let’s be real Trek has always been wacky. Profound one moment and goofy the next. I’d say the only unique critiques result from cbs and the shadow of the abrams movies lol how do you spell his name.

I thought it was good overall and was sorry to see it cancelled.

TLDR: IT WAS A GOOD TREK

Catnap is better than the community-event ult

I’m proud to say I like Fika’s current ult and I do not prefer the community crafted one.

Catnap is goofy and hilarious, even though it’s jank sometimes. Perfect for our mischievous Fika.

That being said putting more power into other parts of her kit and limiting tether is fine.

Also it feels like there’s an opinion-campaign happening in the sub right now to get us prepared for a kit change.

THAT IS ALL. MEOW MEOW. :3

New Official Art without UI

I'm hype for the new character and map! She looks dope af. New map is sorely needed and the preview looks great. Alrighty, hope this was enough of a description, automod. Take care!
