Should I put holiday bonus towards 401k or Stock?

For people who have been with Publix awhile- I’ve been thinking about what to do with my holiday bonus. Would buying $1000 worth of Publix stock be a good option, or should I just put it into the S&P 500 on my 401k? Just wondering if anyone has done both and has seen bigger gains in one or the other.

Games on Pro or games on gamepass?

I have both a PS5 Pro and a Series X. At first I was of course going to buy several games on Pro because of the upgrades. Notably, AC Black Flag, Beast Incarnation, and Halo. However, all 3 are coming to game pass. For just over $40 I could play all 3 on gamepass. As opposed to paying around $180 by buying them individually on Pro. Kind of seems crazy to pay so much. Which decision would you guys make?

Edit: I’m able to get a few months of game pass at about $15 a month. It sucks to lose out on the pro features but the amount of money I’ll save makes it worth it overall.

Where are the good jobs?

How does one go about finding out about high paying positions (60k+) in Charlotte? I’ve tried looking at sites like Indeed but I’m making more than most of the jobs that are listed (21+hr). I know this city has good paying jobs, just not sure where to look for them.

Why so many go backs?

Here’s a question for customers- why are ya’ll putting back so many of your groceries? I genuinely can’t understand. Especially at SCO, some people are putting back half of their baskets. Why? And a lot of it are items that have the prices on it. So you know how much it costs, you picked it up, you walked around the store with it, then you just say never mind? The amount of go backs that come up to the desk have me so confused. Can someone explain to me why you feel the need to grab multiple items, only to give it back to us to put back. You’re literally wasting our time.

Why get motivated?

I’m nearing my 40s and I’m genuinely feeling like there’s no real reason to motivate or improve myself at this stage in life. I work in retail because all jobs I’ve applied for denied me, I live with my mom and have no real reason to leave because I live rent free. I have no desire to date or have kids. I’m just stuck in this mental purgatory. I have no motivation to improve myself. I would have to make substantially more money to be able to enact any real change in my life. I’ve tried over a decade to get out of retail but to no avail. Even if I made 10k more, the rent in the area would devastate my budget. So I might as well just keep living with my mom. So yeah….just don’t see any real point in trying to motivate myself. Based on what I’ve stated, is there any reason or advice that could be given to get me out of this headspace?

Should I work 1 day a week?

Trying to get some advice from people who have left Publix for another job, but who stay for the Publix Stock. I recently was offered a full time position elsewhere that I plan on accepting. I’m currently full time at Publix and had every intention of fully quitting. However, people keep telling me that I should stay and work at least 1 day a week so that I can keep buying Publix stock. Would this really be worth it? New job is Mon-Fri and I would like to be able to enjoy the weekend. However, if the stock is THAT good I might consider staying. Anyone been in a similar position or can attest to the stock being worth sticking around??

Should I ghost this girl?

There’s a girl I really like and who I text with a lot. For a list of reasons I have no shot with this girl. Part of me just wants to stop interacting with her but it would honestly make her sad because of how often we text. I just really don’t want to talk to her anymore but I believe I’m one of her closest friends at this point. What do I do?
