Why do most VPS providers assign IPv6 /64 blocks as on-link instead of routed? Was there a specific technical workaround during the early days of IPv6 implementation that led to this 'bad' habit becoming the industry standard?

Earlier today, I plugged my MacBook USB-C charger into a faulty wall outlet. There was a loud pop/spark, and the metal prongs on the charger ended up scorched. The charger is the official one made by Delta Electronics. Strangely enough, the charger still charges my phone, but I've already set it aside just to be safe. My MacBook wasn't plugged in long after it happened, and it currently charges just fine with a backup charger. What steps should I take to thoroughly verify that my mac didn't take any silent damage?

I’m a bit torn about what to do for my graduation photos.
I know the basics of photography and shoot occasionally as a hobby. I use a Fuji X100 and really like it, but for graduation photos I want something properly high quality since it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
The problem is that while I can take decent photos, I don’t really trust my artistic eye yet. I can’t reliably tell what makes a photo genuinely great versus just okay, and I’m not confident I could consistently take amazing shots myself.
So I’m thinking maybe I should hire a photographer instead. It wouldn’t be a super formal studio shoot, just walking around campus and finding nice spots for photos.
The issue is budget. I could rent a better camera and lens setup for around $200, but I know a good photographer would cost a lot more than that.
What would you do in this situation: rent better gear and take the photos yourself, or spend the money on a photographer instead?
