Don’t Always Trust Your Doctors — Their Words Aren’t God’s Words

About a year ago, after a heavy bulk where I gained around 8–10 kg, I noticed a bulge above my navel whenever I leaned backward. No pain, no symptoms—just something I randomly saw in the mirror after a gym session.

I posted about it online and most comments immediately said, “It’s a hernia. You’re done. No more heavy lifting.” That sent me into a spiral. One person mentioned it could be diastasis recti, which gave me some hope.

I went to a physician and got an ultrasound. Completely normal. The physician and radiologist told me it was either bloating or a “pre-hernia stage” and that I should quit lifting and running. I got a second opinion—same answer.

Something still didn’t feel right, so I got a third opinion. Another ultrasound, another normal result. This radiologist examined me standing up and said it looked nothing like a hernia and could be mild diastasis recti. The physician then referred me to a general surgeon.

I eventually saw a highly experienced surgeon (also a professor at AIIMS and chairman of a major Delhi hospital). He ordered a CT scan, had it reviewed by his own radiologist, and the result was completely normal.

His conclusion: No hernia. Not even a pre-hernia. Not diastasis recti either. Just relatively weak abdominis recti muscles.

He told me to strengthen my core, improve conditioning, return to lifting gradually, and that there was no reason to believe I was at higher risk of a hernia than anyone else.

The lesson? Get second, third, or even fourth opinions when something doesn’t add up. Doctors are human. Some are excellent, some are average, and expertise matters. If I had accepted the first opinion, I might have quit the gym unnecessarily and spent years worrying about something I didn’t even have.

22yo, 70k pm, can I afford this 2bhk in west delhi ? given the scenario

My situation:

• 22 years old
• Working as an analyst at ₹70k/month take-home
• Same company for 14 months total (12 months apprenticeship at ₹20k + 2 months full-time). 2 years of NIL ITR filed
• Live with parents in West Delhi, zero living expenses
• Give ₹10k/month to home, ₹10k to MFs, ₹10k for personal wants — remaining ₹40k is pure surplus I don’t need

The flat:

• 2BHK, 52 sq. yards , 3rd floor, West Delhi
• Second owner, asking ₹28L
• Bike parking only, no car parking
• Located a few streets from my parents’ place

The plan:

• Family helps with ₹5L down payment (to be repaid)
• Loan required: \\\~₹23L
• Target: repay aggressively in 5–7 years
• I won’t live in the flat — will stay with parents for food/practical reasons
• If I relocate, I rent it out

The math:

EMI at 9% over 7 years = \~₹36,800/month. My surplus is ₹40k. Tight but workable solo without touching MFs or family. 5-year EMI is \~₹47,500 — needs either pausing MFs (₹10k freed) or marginal family support of \~₹7,500/month.

Future scenarios I’ve thought through:

If I move to Bangalore (possible in 1 year):
Only switching if I get minimum 50% hike → \~₹1.05L take-home. Bangalore living expenses \~₹25–30k. EMI still running at whatever’s left of the tenure. Net surplus still ₹25–40k. Flat gets rented out at \~₹8k/month. Completely manageable.

If I do MBA (possible in 3–4 years):
Plan is to aggressively prepay before MBA so remaining principal is small. Family covers whatever’s left during MBA period — and by then it’s a much smaller burden. I repay family post-MBA.

Family financial context:

• Father retires in 1 year, mother in 4 years
• Brother is 29, earns ₹55k in sales (somewhat unstable)
• Decent emergency fund exists
• Family can help with EMIs if needed but I don’t want to structurally depend on it

Loan eligibility concern:

Apprenticeship + 2 years NIL ITR + same company = hoping banks treat this as continuous employment. Planning to approach SBI/PNB first. Anyone with similar profile got a loan sanctioned?

Instinct says buy. Numbers say it’s tight but viable. Life uncertainty (Bangalore, MBA) seems manageable given the rental fallback. What am I missing?

Workation Suggestion?

I 22M just came back from my first solo rishikesh trip.
And I loved it.
Does anyone know any package in a hostel in himachal or uttarakhand that is made for remote workers ? Good if food included.

Planning to stay for 7 - 10 days.
have been seeing so many insta reels about hostels offering stay and food for 15k per month.

How reliable are those

First Solo Trip - Rishikesh. Need advice for second.

This is the view from a random hill I (M22) climbed in the kyarki Village Rishikesh ( around 8-10km from neer waterfall ig).

I need a Destination suggestion in Uttarakhand/Himachal for my next solo trip in last week of june.

My main concern is cheap hostel with wifi so I can work and stay for around 7-10 days like a local.

In rishikesh I did not travel much, but stayed like a local as my dorm was right in front of laxman jhula - I had a great time on the hostel terrace itself.

But the dorm costed me 750rs per night(by the name Madpackers) and wifi was a trouble.

Is there a place which may or may not be a well known tourist spot but i can stay at 200-300rs per night or 400 at max.

Coming from delhi I am tired of buildings views from balcony and terrace so just staying at someones house for a few days would feel refreshing.

My rishikesh Iternary was -
UTC bus delhi to rishikesh - 430rs each side
Hostel for 2 nights - 1500rs
Food and cafe hopping - 2200rs total for 3 days including cigs and drinks

Trip Details

• Start & End Dates - 29 may 2026 to 31 may
• Route & Places Visited - delhi to rishikesh ( neer and kyarki village )
• Number of Days - 3

Costs & Budget

• Total Trip Cost - 5k
• Daily Budget (approx) - 1.5k

Accommodation

• Where you stayed (hotel/hostel/homestay) + brief review - Madpackers - Average

Transport

• How you travelled between cities/places (train, bus, flight, cab, etc.) - local bus

Food & Experiences

• Memorable meals, activities, or events you’d recommend - babylon coffee shop in laxman jhula

So a part of our process at this MNC needs OEM data, mercedes is one of the oem and the biggest one.

So i pitched a reverse engineering approach to my german manager, he is impressed as the data is directly from the source. but his first question was is it legal.

idk ? if i run this automation once a month for 30 countries. will it be an issue ? it will take like an hour only.

if it will be an issue. what can be the best solution to this ? or maybe contacting mercedes and asking for api partnership is the only solution ?

i have mixed answers on is web scraping is legal or not. so i dont want to guess it for Api scraping.

also open for suggestions to do it without api keys.
here is the problem statement
