My ex husband wants to move 45 min away.
I have been divorced for 4.5 years and since I moved out we have been generally okay. Small issues here and there.
He moved in with his mom and I moved into an apartment we live about 5 miles apart and our school district busses them to their schools.
Hes been with his gf for 8 months and they want to move in together which im more than fine with, but he wants to move 45 min away.
I had asked him if I could move to half way in between his gfs current home 20 min away but still in the same district as his mom's house that way he could still exercise his 50/50 status.
Today he asked if I would move to the town hes moving to and I said no. I said if he still wanted 50/50 he could do Friday night Saturday Sunday and he could drop them off at 6 am Monday that way it was still even. He said no because they want alone time. Which i get.
I am still locked onto my lease for another year so I told him the earliest I could leave would be next July but I would wait until tax time so I could pay off my car and have that extra money for the rent. He didnt like that answer either.
My main issue with moving to her town is because it's further away from our son's doctors and he has multiple disabilities. The town id move to is closer to his drs & has more access for daycare and the school district I would be moving to has opportunities for me to work there and is extremely flexible.
The town she lives in doesn't have daycares like the one im in. The school district is well known for being bad with drug use and fights and i simply dont want to move there because he is insisting on it without thinking of how it would impact me.
Can you give me ideas so it would be fair for both of us?
Eta: I asked so early so I could get on waiting lists because the complex i want to move into has a 2 year wait list.
