Is multicast OP?

I'm pretty new to the game, still in silver league and I would like to hear from more experienced players

So far, I find the easiest way to win is to abuse the multicast mechanic, with items like Crescentshot, Wand, paired with potions to trigger items that have "whenever you heal" (Redemption) or "whenever you gain shield" (Warrior shield).

It seems to me that mechanics like shock, for example, lack synergies with the rest of the item pool, whereas multicast synergizes with everything (bleed, burn, poison, "when you heal/shield, trigger)

At my rating I hardly ever see sucessful builds that don't rely on multicast, and almost no shock, bleed, dark synergy. Does it stay the same on higher ratings?

A game like Factorio but more accessible for someone new to the genre

I tried the Factorio demo but it was overwhelming.

I'd like to discover the "automation" genre with a more accessible game.

I would prefer top down camera over third person camera.

What would you recommand?

Which content do you usualy skip on leaguestart?

I wonder, among the content that spawns in maps, which ones do you usualy skip on leaguestart, because it slows character progression.

My (uneducated) guess would be:

-Blight

-Ritual

-Incursion

-Heist

-Ultimatum

-Expedition

-Legion

Are charts/voyages good for farming essences?

Just wondering if they can be better than maps (limited by scarabs).

Afaik, voyages have:

-Spectral infuser: Essences are higher Tiers and Strongboxes are at least Rare in Charts and Voyages

-Adjacency bonus to spawn more imprisoned monsters

-No need for scarab

Boneshatter or static strike jugg?

I'd like to leaguestart one of these 2 melee builds if they don't get nerfed next league. I would transition into transfigured gems (complex trauma or gathering lightning) after farming lab.

Did you play one of these? Would you recommend them for softcore ssf?

I would like a tanky allrounder build that is good at farming breach

Eugene Oneguine (Pouchkine), quelle traduction?

New player questions nb3

Hi, as you've been kind enough to answer my noobish questions in last posts, here is another batch:

1-What are the "classic" victory conditions?

2-Some healing spells specify "Do/don't revive fallen units" but some skills don't, for example :

Guardian

Whenever a friendly creature kills an enemy, it fully restores its HP.

Is there a default rule when the text doesn't specify whether it revives fallen units or not?

New player: more clarifications needed

Hi, new player here, thanks to everybody who helped in my first serie of questions.

Here are some more questions after playing a bit more:

1-How am i supposed to get tier 5 spells. Afaik, Mage guild stops at tier 4

2-Is heroic strike considered magic damage?

3-Can my traps be triggered by and damage my own units?

4-I need clarification about the wording: stack/unit/creature/enemy

For example, is this considered 1 stack of 74 units?

If I'm correct, creature is a synonym of stack, and enemy means "enemy stack"

New player could use some clarifications on game mechanics

Hi, new player here, I love the game so far, I just have a few questions I can't find answers to:

1-How to evolve a hero into the more powerful version? For example a Knight can evolve into Swashbuckler or Paragon

2-Heroes that have a bias toward a certain unit, for example John Johnson Swordsman growth in your cities increases by 1. Under his command, Swordsmen gain 1 Speed, 1 Initiative, and 20% HP: does it also apply to swordsman upgrade? (Guard Captain and Sun's Aegis)

3-Blessing spell (Daylight magic tier1) Target friendly creature deals + 10% Damage with basic attacks: does ranged attacks count as basic attacks?

Edit: 4-What is the base hero's sight?

Help me improve my ssf betrayal cheatsheet

I'm trying to get a better understanding of usecases of betrayal in SSF.

I made this cheatsheet based from reading the wiki and various reddit posts, to summarize this very complex mechanic but i'm far from being an expert and it is only a proposal to serve for more experienced player to share their knowledge. I'll try to post an updated one to include these insights

It only shows the "safehouse" tier3 rewards, to keep it simple.

The yellow cells are those i think could have some use but i'm not sure.

I marked influenced exalted orbs as useful because of how meta totems are this league and the demand for shaper shields.

Got myself an Emperor's vigilance and Seething Fury. Should i go Shield crush?

Today i got those 2 pieces, and that got me very excited because now I want to try the Shield crush slayer build. Afaik these are the 2 mandatory pieces for the crit version of this build.

I also got darkray vectors boots, the rest will be rare gear.

Do you think this build could be potent in ssf with just these 3 uniques?

Quick questions to improve my SSF knowledge

I'm new to SSF, and i'd like to ask a few questions:

-Are Kingsmarch mappers popular among players? I feel i don't have other good gold dump after getting a 6 link and a decent weapon from shipping

-What to do with memory strand items? In trade league, i would slam an essence and sometimes get something good, but in SSF, essences don't come easy.

-Is recomb+ multimod the best way to get a good weapon for most builds?

What should be my second atlas?

My first atlas is focusing on map sustain, breach hives, elder/shaper map drops and destructive play

I don't know what to do with the spare points and the 2nd atlas.

I'm playing Storm burst totem, the next big upgrade will be shaper shield, so i'll be running shaper guardian invitations.

Maybe adding strongboxes for operative strongboxes? Or Eater/Exarch altars?

Your Maps are opened with 5 additional random Unallocated Notable Atlas Passives

Is it a nobrainer in softcore (always take this node if your build can handle the increased difficulty)?

reddit.com
u/Additional-Horse1144 — 4 months ago

I started a Storm burst totem hierophant, following Tatiantel's guideline:

https://pobb.in/sRsCyhvyVPzM

The defensive layers are MoM and suppress

I'm afraid it would be hard to get suppress gear, because i also want life, mana and the usual resists on my gear, but maybe it's still doable in SSF with breach tree

The other defensive layers i'm thinking of:

-Armour + ES, with 100% increased Armour and ES from mastery

-Block chance, but that's a huge passive points opportunity cost, and i don't think I can even get block cap

What did you choose?

u/Additional-Horse1144 — 4 months ago

I've been trying to get a 6 link ES or hybrid ES chestpiece.

So far i've used Genesis tree and shipping wheat to Moti Aro

I got about 15 5 links but no 6 links.

Is there a better way? I didn't try gambling for gold, does it give good results?
