Should I drop Nursing school?

Not assuming it is all Nurses, I adore Nurses, hence the reason I want to become one. I have been working in hospitality comfortably for almost 10 years and want to finally start a career for my self. So I went onto a nursing Reddit thread. The comments were all about how no one can handle the stress. There was a lot more to the post, however a lot of the nurses commenting seem to hate their jobs and talk about how its not worth the stress and it's just really hard so there is no point.

I asked a ton of questions in the post, but that is to be over educated and hopefully hear first hand Nursing experiences, I am researching google for the simple questions but added them into the Reddit post so I can get as many answers as possible for all my questions and learn as much as possible from all that is available to me.

Multiple people said the tons of questions were a sign that I shouldn't go to Uni.

Is nursing really that bad?

Should I drop the idea of going to nursing school all together? I am getting mixed signals and I am starting to lose faith.

I am considering Diploma of Nursing (EN) then proceeding to a Bachelors (RN)

I am considering becoming an Enrolled Nurse in Victoria/AUS

I have a few questions, however I will give some context first;

I have no degrees / 1 TAFE cert / did not finish year 12 / not eligible for free TAFE / spent ALOT of time in hospitals, ER's and GP offices / chronically ill with POTS and arthritic issues etc.

My current chosen pathway is doing the 2 year Diploma, then using the credit earned from the Diploma to enter a Bachelors with one year removed. Then finish as an Enrolled Nurse and go into the ER sector. Over time i'd also like to do a paramedics course to open up my career options.

Do not comment on my illnesses unless you are a Nurse that can relate or give me advice on the right path as some one who is not as able, thankyou.

Questions: (there's a lot sorry!)

Relating to my plan, what University is the best for this?

Are there quicker alternatives?

What is your experience as an ER Nurse?

Are there short courses for leadership / time management that I should consider doing that might add to my work ethic?

How fit should I be before I apply?

If you are a Nurse with visible tattoos what are your experiences?

Do you have any general advice or experiences to share about Nursing school?

What are your personal Pros and Cons?

If you have a chronic illness what are your experiences?

IF you have ADHD how did you workout a study plan?

What is the hardest vs easiest part of your job?

Is the stress worth it for the outcome of helping people?

How did you pass your board exam?

Do hospitals help pay for further education?

Was it hard to find your first job after school?

What is the most difficult area of learning whilst at Uni?

What should I learn before applying for Uni?

In Melb where you do believe the best placement hospital is?

Anything else I should learn or know from experienced and upcoming Nurses please lmk!

gift suggestions for my sister

My sister is 16 and her birthday is coming up. She is an Insta girly, who has a brass bed, lace curtains... She's basically Lana Del Rey as a teenager. This is key context as I have bright red hair, tattoos and my closet are thrifted lockers.

We are completely different and I am never good at gift giving for her.

I need other people's minds to help me create the best gift for her 17th.

She loves the minions btw, like she's saving for a 3,000 gem from a fancy brand in the shape of a minion on a necklace. Generally though she likes the old lady vibe with the old jewellery, porcelain designs etched into her brass bed, again the lace curtains, and vintage Insta worthy clothing.

A lot of rambling but I am usually amazing at personal gift giving, however my sister is very hard to gift shop for.

Stylish ladies gentlemen and gentle-thems please give me your ideas!

Getting out of bed

HI!

I am honestly clawing at the walls for some sort of remedy for my lack of motivation at the moment.

I have seasonal depression, other physical health issues that enhance the sluggishness, however the mental side is honestly the hard hitter here.

I need some help with how to motivate my self to get the hell out of bed in the morning or at least begin to move my circadian rhythm towards a productive routine. I'm currently typing this at 2:30 in the morning and I am a huge sleeper, so this is not normal for me. However I have some cleaning and packing to visit my boyfriend that I need to do and my day is starting so late it's taking me till 3 am to do things.

I am willing to try and explore any crazy and outlandish tricks you guys suggest to get my routine back on track!

BF(26m) GF(20F) Almost one year.

*I want to come on hear and write out my situation and hope it helps me make he right decision. I am looking for real advice and not to be ab#sed online because I sound harsh or crazy so please stick to real comments.*

My boyfriend has been invited to a wedding on the other side of the world. Due to the fact we are not married I am not invited as its against their families beliefs. I respect that completely.

My boyfriends plans after the wedding however is to travel the neighbouring country for a month-ish if their savings allows for the extra time away from work.

I personally have been quite hurt by how nasty their parents have been towards me and my race, my piercings, and my hair.

*For context I have my lobes, snake bites and septum pierced and I have only two visible tattoos*

I voiced I would like if I could come along given I pay for my self as our relationship has been fairly rocky due to scrutinization from family and some time away together would be nice. Even if I came along for a week or two of the trip. My boyfriend gave a half answer and hasn't brough it up since. They hide me from his family and always plan their parents visits when I am helping my mum out to medical appointments or if I am out of the house.

Is it crazy for me to feel hurt or if they don't want me to come on this trip at all?

Its not the experiencing i'm sulking over, its the fact that i'm worried they just don't want me there to avoid their family bumping into me.

I feel hurt and hidden out of embarrassment.

How do I approach this ? ?

I finally took some ones unsolicited advice

Short summary;

A lady told me to try exercise for my audhd and it has worked wonderfully.

My audhd came up in conversation two weeks ago with a strange working at a Dangerfield whilst they were checking out my clothes, when the lady behind me (in full almond mum attire mind you - not judging it was just shocking) belts from behind me in line "exercise honey, exercise" she gives me the cheek squashing smile that women give when they aren't actually being polite. I sort of awkwardly nod thankyou and leave.

Well a few days later i'm bored and finally visit the gym with my boyfriend and do a basic workout. I have done that almost every day for a week now.

Ontop of my diagnosis I am chronically ill, and never in my life have I felt so healthy. I am so shocked that this random ladies advice worked and maybe even a little p1ssed because i'm generally stubborn but its amazing!

i'm barely overstimulated (as a sensory avoiding person this is HE A V E N), and my mind is MUCH clearer.

I worked out that doing at home exercise too that keeps you close too if not on the ground really helps with lack of motivation / burn out.

Anyways thought i'd share : D ! ! !

AITAH for not forgiving my boyfriend's brother

I made a Reddit account today because I need outside opinions.

Mentions of mild SA and mental illness.

I'm 19F and my boyfriend "Jamie" is 27M.

We've been together for about six months. I have BPD/CPTSD and social anxiety, so I tend to stick close to him when meeting new people, but I've been in therapy for years and work hard to manage it.

A while ago I met Jamie's brother "Frank" and his girlfriend "Ava." After that first meeting, Ava apparently complained that I talked to her boyfriend too much and said I wasn't welcome to hang out with them again, which I thought was odd. Me and my boyfriend agreed it was unreasonable and we hung out for about an hour, and in that hour I was too focused on getting to know everyone to single out one person.

Later, we were invited to Ava's birthday party at a club. During the night, a random man grabbed me from behind and tried to lift my dress. I was extremely shaken, and my boyfriend immediately got security involved.

The rest of the night was chaotic. Frank got into a fight, another fight broke out outside where I ended up with a black eye. I happened to be arms length from the fight as it broke out and was elbowed in the eye as well as a badly bruised head as I fell back into a pole. Despite that I stayed to help everyone get home safely. We drove Frank and Ava home, where Ava became violent, trashed the apartment, and police and an ambulance were called.

Frank and Ava have since broken up and gotten back together multiple times.

Now Ava is telling people I cheated on my boyfriend with a guy at the party because we briefly talked about a shared interest for a couple of minutes. This coincidentally came out in an argument between Frank and Ava after they broke up the first time. Frank called my boyfriend, questioned him about it, and then had my boyfriend question me. I was basically interrogated and accused of cheating with zero evidence.

My boyfriend believed me after looking through my messages and after I asked the guy directly if he was aware of the accusations which apparently came down to a bad joke he made in private that he had forgotten about. My boyfriend fully trusts me, but Frank still seems to think there might be something to Ava's story despite having no proof.

What hurts is that after everything that happened that night—including me helping them both—I was repaid with accusations that could have damaged my relationship.

I haven't forgiven Frank, and I don't think I will unless he apologizes for accusing me of being unfaithful without evidence.

AITA for refusing to forgive him until he apologizes?

AITA for being angry that my sister's boyfriend and my friend are getting along.

For context this is about my friend (M-18) and my sister's now ex-boyfriend as of today (m-17) and me (F19).

Last new years I had my friend (lets call him John) over for new years. we had recently met after talking online and got along well. My sister had her boyfriend and another couple from school there with her (lets call her boyfriend Max).

My friend and her boyfriend had met for the first time and sorta got along, nothing much other than some laughs. Although I can barely remember that night due to the two entire bottles I had plus some cans.

After that I was aware of how John and Max followed each other. Months go by and we are half way through the year, me and Max have been to a few concerts together, gone out for drinks and roamed the night life. Talking about everything from our relationships to dark jokes we giggle to ourselves about. Tonight my sisters now ex-boyfriend has come by to grab the last of his things. I hear low voices outside the door, I turn on the porch light (scared its people I don't know as this is a dangerous area) and John is at the door...

With my best friend Max.

At face value that's not completely odd as I knew they were mutuals and they are allowed to hang out and be friends with who ever they like. That's not the weird part.

The part that makes me uncomfortable and question things, is the fact Max lives an hour away and does not just drive any where for any one (this is Australia and we are in a heavy fuel crisis). The second part that makes me feel icky is the fact I live with my parents, with my sister.. He knows I live here, John does not live here.

Max was driving John to my house, and didn't let me know that he was stopping by at 9:30 at night to wait for John to get his things. Max drove an hour to John's house, than to my parents, then dropping John off. Coming a long way with a couple of hours driving all up on a weekend out of his way when John has other means of transport. Then I was told they went to get food.

I feel like i'm going crazy and over reacting to something that could just not be that deep.

Although it feels odd that they almost went out of their way to keep their friendship a secret from both me and my sister who was literally dating John.

I could see Max's car sitting out the front of my house, I sent a text "Holy Sht you guys scared me, why didn't you lmk you were coming by my parents?" with no reply. My texts are being ignored and it's making me increasingly uncomfortable and frustrated.

AITA for wanting to ask Max why he didn't tell me he was stopping by?

AITA for also wanting to ask why he's still friends with some one that has hurt my sister greatly with disloyalty?

Please help.

Edit:

I thought i'd also add i've been friends with Max has been my best friend and we were inspirable until work got in the way, and he has only know this guy since new years.

I'm starting to think I severely over reacted...
