A Huge Win for ❌️ Tipping

Just a couple days ago I posted about how I was robbed at Niku X in NYC , we were a party of 2 with a total of $322 and I tipped $28 bringing the total to $350.

When the charge posted it posted as $393, clearly indicating the server had stolen an additional tip.

Many of you asked me to dispute the charge with my bank and talk to the restaurant manager. I did both. The restaurant manager took action quicker and refunded the entire $70 grautity , however, they were reluctant to admit that the server stole the tip.

Instead they brushed it off as a POS issue and that the server did not have these intentions. They also offered a 15% discount for the next time I visit and get robbed.

I had asked for a atleast some portion of the meal refunded apart from the $70 as a gesture, but they said since it was a POS issue this is all they could offer.

I want to know what you guys think , but yes , huge win for the End tipping community , server stole $42 and I got my whole $28 back too, in the end he got 0 which he deserved.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and to those saying I deserve it since I left less than 10%, imma leave less than 5% next time.

Robbed Again in NYC

Went to Niku x in Manhattan, party of 2 , they're part of the chubby cattle group and known for their AYCE wagyu experience. Food was obviously great and service was normal, since I had the membership I got a discount and my total was $322.27, when he held the screen in front of me , I left a tip of about $27 totalling to approx $350. Today I see the charge post to my account for $393.07. What kind of crime is this? Are they even allowed to literally rob at this point ? There was no autograt included here, tip was upto the customer. Even after leaving a tip these servers are now going to steal ? This is frustrating.

Would like to hear similar stories and what are my options now , i dont have a paper receipt but thank God I have the membership which automatically picks up the receipt everytime you provide your phone number to use your membership discount. The gratuity here says 0, but ignore that because it always shows 0 in the app because it doesn't count towards your points , how convenient.

Robbed In NYC

Went to Le B cause of the hype around the burger , you'd imagine that with a burger of that price tag, $72 each burger , they dont automatically charge gratuity for a party of 2. Burger was great, probably one of the best ive ever had but not worth the price. When i got the cheque and was shocked to see that it was auto added, i used apple pay and the machine asked for another tip , selected $0 and the server looked at me like I left $0 , you automatically added gratuity and want an additional tip ? DO YOUR JOB OR LEAVE IT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT. IM NOT PAYING YOUR WAGE. Total for 2 burgers was $185 with the autograt.

Also , there was no mention of autograt going to be added to all cheques anywhere, not their menu not their website. That's what makes it worse than just 20% autograt.

NYC's Most Expensive Burger

Le Burger priced at $72, its pretty good. But not better than Au Cheval priced at less than half.

Total with taxes and automatic 20% gratuity (Not disclosed on menu or website) was $185 for 2 burgers that come with fries.
