How many of you are from army families?
Do your family make money from...other ways.
Are your family political.
Did you family get land from the army.

Did you family get land from the army.
I mean in terms of behaviour, standard of living, professionalism.
I feel that once many reach Major General, that's when it goes crazy. They almost enter a different world and get access to more power, money and influence.
Can anyone correct me or share from experience.
I'm really fascinated by the interal psychology of the army.
Out of curiosity as a Pakistani born and living abroad I want to know the situation there.
From abroad it feels as if most young Pakistani are either unaware or accepted that it's over.
The age of voting will go up to 25.
They apparently want to extend office term limits to 15 years.
Every branch of government is infested with 2 or 3 star or retired generals.
With India I think it's understandable as most people are pro Modi.
But in Pakistan everyone is majority overwhelming anti Army.
Do you see any events which could lead to protests, of course there was 9th May, but I personally believe that it was orchestred by the army.
I am not 100% sure if this is true, but apparently the 28th Amendment includes the Government being allowed to stretch to 15 years in case of war, economy crisis etc.
Thoughts on this?
15 years and nobody under 25 allowed to vote, looks like Whiskey is getting his wish as President for life.
If the SC agreed that it's real and give a verdict? What could happen?
I know this isn't realistic to happen, but wanting to discuss what could possibly happen.
I personally feel PTI needs to rally behind this, because this is what toppled their government, and they need to use it as a rallying cry.
My crackpot theory is that Zadari leaked it, I have no doubt he saw it before, got connections to get a copy and leaked it due to the fight over the 28th Amendment.
I know people are going to be pessimistic with the current state of Pakistan, but it would be nice to use this post as a discussion thread to discuss provisional changes and share thoughts.
With the 28th Amendment looming one earlier discussed key change is a proposed restructure of the provinces, an idea now abandoned due to internal conflicts between parties.
I believe ideally we should aim for 20–25 provinces with roughly an equal amount of population.
I understand people will argue that even this is too many and increases the amount Chief Ministers.
More CM does not mean more money wasted, CM salary is a small fraction of the provincial budget. And smaller provinces can reduce administrative duplications, improve efficiency of tax collection.
Key Benefits:
In large provinces, development becomes heavily centralised around one dominant city, creating imbalance in resource distribution. Smaller provinces help distribute planning authority more evenly, encouraging secondary cities to grow rather than concentrating investment in a single hub.
I have attempted to balance the population as much as possible per region, off course there are still some areas which are unbalanced population size such as Balochistan.
A controversy I expect to get is the usage of the name "Saraik", I opted for this as the term "Saraiki Belt" is already used in academia by some. And I do not believe in tying this region to the overall "Punjab" as Saraiki's do have their own unique identity and the push for a "South Punjab" province often called "Saraikistan" has been spoken about for decades. I also thought of adding the Hazara to this list but decided to keep it to the overall KPK region.
Azad Kashmir - No changes in its governance, but I have opted to still include this.
Population Data may not be 100% accurate.

I've split these under Regions (Geography) > Provinces (Governing) > District (Administration) > Tehsil (Local Governance).
Regions are more a geographic identification and don't play a role in governing.

This is arguably the worst thing to ever happen to this countries democracy and is going to be impossible to reverse.
FCC - The Army would at times clash with the Supreme Court. Now they don't need to, because they have their own court which is loyal.
CDF - Whiskey Hafiz has now got control over the Army, Air Force and Navy. Has complete immunity even from Article 6 and he can renew it again in 2030 to have an additional 5 years.
Requires 2/3 majority to reverse the amendment which is never going to happen.
I don't think it will ever be reversed, this is officially the period where we've entered a complete hybrid model with the army being more in control. They came closest they've ever come to losing and doubled down.
He's rumoured to want to become President and make his brother in law Naqvi (The chairman of Pakistan cricket right now) the PM.
I can't see any party ever winning enough to reverse it. Every COAS will be desperate for it after Whiskey.
I'm trying to follow events in Pakistan but unsure who to follow to get accurate information.
Sadiq Jan - I'm unsure of him, the way he presents he says a lot without saying much. He also doesn't make sense and tries to just sound smart rather than being direct.
Adil Raja - Complete idiot, I can't understand how people respect this clown. He had sources in the early days who most likely have been silenced. After him accusing those actresses of being ISI agents and naming them without evidence he lost the plot.
Moeed Pirzada - I quite like him and he seems analytical.
Waqas/Brief - Perhaps the most reliable and honest.
Haider Mehdi - Has ties to the Army, but repeats what others say.
I also think it would be good for us on this sub to have a tier list perhaps? So we can filter by how reliable the news is.
Lets say each party puts out a five points manifesto on what they plan to do.
What are five major things which would give them your vote.
Hoping people who know can provide information, so far two different CM's, and I'm curious to know how development is there this term?
I mostly see the current CM on X for protests and talking about IK, so I'm just curious how he's preformed.
Can't do it at the start of the season as most of the big team clubs are safe.
Can't do it halfway through the season because you leave immediately without a proper goodbye/send off.
Should be that you're either approached directly or apply for it with the option to join straight away, or sign a contract to join at the start of the next season.
