



My new place didn't have any space for bathroom utensils besides the sink and while I don't own a ton of stuff, it was way to much to fit properly. So I got my tape measure and opened FreedCAD.
My biggest issue was the design of the joint in the middle, since I obviously had to print the shelf board in two parts. My solution was a dovetail like joint, so the pressure from above is distributed in a way where it wedges the connector more into the other parts, instead of easily breaking apart. It held a 2.5 kg weight right in the middle with no issues. I even tried tried putting a second 2.5 kg plate on top.The joint held, but the PLA bent so much, the frame pieces started to slide of the sink on either side. I just about managed to keep everything from falling. Either way, it's definitely stable enough for toothbrushes and deodorant.
It's held in place by an anti slip sticky tape thingy now, so no sliding around.
