Daughter gets killed by father unknowingly
I recently came across a tragic incident where a farmer accidentally ran over his own 2 years old daughter while driving a tractor in the field. From what was reported from my aunt, the father didn’t even realize the child had somehow come into the tractor’s path, and she died on the spot.
What I genuinely don’t understand is that why was a 2 years old even near an active farming area with heavy machinery operating?
I’m not trying to blame grieving parents, because this is obviously devastating beyond words. But tractors, harvesters, and farm equipment are extremely dangerous even for adults. A toddler can move unpredictably in seconds.
Is this common in rural areas because there’s nobody else at home to watch children while parents work? Or is it more about how normalized it has become for kids to stay around fields and machinery?
It’s just heartbreaking to think that a moment of missing supervision can end in something irreversible like this.
