To explain further, this is actually a pretty real thing that happened. What they called Surgeon Barbers around 500 years ago didn't know how to do a C-section surgery (caesarean) without either the mother or baby dying.

So sometimes like in this situation in House of the Dragon the physician would come to the King or Lord and ask their opinion.
