Shoes recommendations

Right now I wear a pair of Evolv Kronos and was wondering what shoes I should get next, honestly I love my pair of Kronos but it just feels a bit stiff. Currently climbing v5-7, was thinking between Tenaya Indalo, Drago, or instinct, just cuz I see a lot of good people wear them, what shoes should I also consider?

Is calc 3 important?

I just finished up calc 2 in the spring semester and I got a B just because I had to teach the whole material to myself instead of relying on the prof because he can’t teach and got a heavy ass accent. So my question is for calc 3, is it going to be used heavily in like diff eq or future engineering works cuz I’m taking calc 3 soon after my dynamics class in the summer semester, or can I just get through this class and never see calc 3 stuff again in the future?
Context: I wanna work in the aero/electrical field in the future.

Is OSU worth the out of state tuition?

For context, I currently live in Texas and I go to a community college and I see myself living in the PNW region in the future, but I don’t want to put my family in the financial burden, but I also see so much opportunity over there at Oregon, what do yall think should I go to OSU

Rate my home climbing routine? No gym/crag nearby, training with just a pull-up bar and Metolius Rock Rings (3 months in, doing it daily)

Hey everyone, im newish to climbing and I’m looking for some honest feedback and suggestions on my current home training routine. My main goal is to get better at bouldering and rock climbing in general, but I have a situation where the nearest climbing gym is over an hour away from where I live, and there are absolutely no natural outdoor climbing spots anywhere near me. Because of that, I can't visit a gym regularly right now, so I have to rely completely on a home setup.
Currently, my equipment is limited to a standard pull-up bar and a pair of Metolius Rock Ring 3Ds. I’ve been consistently following a strict, twice-a-day routine for about 3 months now without taking any rest days. I wanted to share my exact breakdown to see if you guys think this is actually effective for building climbing power, or if I’m missing something important.
For my morning routine, I start with a finger warm-up with my feet on the ground on the Metolius Rock Rings. I do a 10-second hold followed by a 15-second rest for each hole configuration, pulling with roughly 60% of my maximum finger strength. After that, I move straight into core training where I try a front lever thing, aiming to hold the front lever for 10 seconds, then rest and repeat for 3 sets total. To wrap up the morning, I do bodyweight holds for as long as I can for each hole on the Metolius rings using my full body weight.
Then at night, I do the exact same thing for warming up my fingers with my feet on the ground. After the warm-up, I do pull-ups using the first two holes on the rock rings, aiming for 15 pull-ups with each of the two holes. Right before bed, I always do stretching and mobility things specifically for my hips.
I have been doing this exact routine every single day for about 3 months now. I want to make sure I am maximizing my gains since I don't get real wall time, and I want to see if you guys have any suggestions for what workouts I should do at home with this gear.
My main questions for the sub: Is doing this twice a day, every day, sustainable for climbing progression, or am I overtraining and risking a tendon injury? Should I switch up the reps for my pull-ups or break the front lever down into different progressions? How can I better emulate the explosive movements of bouldering with just this minimal setup? Any advice on how to restructure this program or modify it would be awesome. Thanks!

Would they admit me if I’ve been taking courses outside of the major I’m applying

So basically I’m applying ECE for TAMU but I’ve been taking courses for MechE at my CC, would they still take me? I’ve basically got all the chem, phys, and math done except for ECE specific courses.

What can international students even do to compete

I feel like us international students have really limited resources, like we can’t work internships, REUs, or even NASA shits like what are we supposed to do besides passion projects and having a good gpa

External Transfer from community college for Cockrell

So I just figured out that due to my E-2 Visa, I will be considered as an international applicant, I thought whenever I filled out the residency questionnaires I would be considered an in-state, now I just realized it’s for tuition purposes only, fyi I’ve been living in Texas since I was in middle school. I feel like all the hard work I’ve been putting in for the past year at my community college has been for nothing since it’s so much harder for international students to get admission especially for Cockrell. I’ve lost hope and ready to accept my rejection and maybe stay another at my community college🥲
